The problem with moving to Thailand now, are the absurd new 2024 visa requirements. Notwithstanding, after jumping through all of the “new Thailand required hoops”, the longer-term visa has to be renewed after a year…Even for a one-year “long term” visa, you need to park the equivalent of approximately $24,000 USD in a Thai bank FIRST. So definitely look into the process because I am just going off of what my Thai immigration attorneys told me as well as what I had seen on RUclips videos.
@@griffstone779324,000 US means you have money in your account in a Thai bank. What the government has to do is to make sure that if you come here you won't be in trouble. For example, if you get sick will have money for treatment Or have enough to pay the house rent? Or are they afraid of coming to work in some fields that contradict Thai occupations? There are now approximately 10 million foreigners living in Thailand and approximately 6Millions are workers from neighboring countries such as Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Nepal, India and China (if you want to open a small business Such as marijuana shops, restaurants, small hotels. or any business You can request it from the government.) This money is yours to use when needed. But when it comes to checking the account To renew, you must have $24,000 in your account in case you are applying for a long-term visa. It's your money Didn't enter the state But I'm not sure if I'm over 50 years old and can apply for a long-term visa. But I see many foreigners choosing to study the language. Take a cooking class or apply for a digital Nomat visa, which is valid for 1 year, but some people choose to take the train, tour bus, or private car. Or take a plane to a neighboring country on a day trip. To come in again Having a guarantee of 24,000 dollars is partly a foreigner's protection. 😊
I love Thailand beaches, natural sceneries, jungle and food. But with Philippines more than 7000 islands, there are more things to do and explore, I love the raw natural attractions and varied landscape of the Philippines.

Yes just try to go to Thailand and see the difference, and its nice place to visit in fact even Bali Indonesia also is another unique place to explore, but my home is still Philippines
i ‘ve been to Thailand and with all honesty i was disappointed. Maybe i had a big expectations especially when they said the beach there is better than the Philippines. but when I went there i was totally disappointed, i was contemplating and observing telling myself that is this what were they saying… No Joke Philippine beaches it still the best. even the vibe there i did not feel it… they can’t even speak english, i was having a hard time buying food even as simple as a fast food chain. So if you would ask me Philippines still the best. Brian Philippines got 4 miss universe winners, Thailand got only two. there you go.
Have watched many foreign vloggers who've been to Thailand and have heard many of them say that they're blown away by the colors of the waters here which they don't see in Thailand. Just saying what they're saying. Even a lot of our inland bodies of water (like in Kawasan, Cambugahay, etc) are turquoise colored.
Miss Universe, the winner of a beauty pageant, sometimes has politics and interests involved. The Philippine beauty market is the largest in Asia and the world. Filipinos love beauty pageants very much. To the point where there is a school teaching beauty pageants. And there are beauty pageants at every festival and everywhere.
Ang pilipinas ay hindi umaasa lang sa mga turista mula sa ibang bansa...ang pilipinas ay kumita ng ₱2.9trillion dahil sa local tourist sa loob ng isang taon...
Great points said in this video, Brian 😊 these two countries definitely offer different flavors and it really depends on your taste which one works and feels better for you. People always say chase greener pasteurs…. There’s really no such thing….I believe the grass is always greener where you water it 😉 coz it’s not really much so about this rivalry of which county is better -- just go where your heart is and where you feel most alive. ❤ Cheers! Looking forward to more good content!
My bf left Thai 8 yrs ago for good .He lives there for almost 20 yrs in and out of the country .but he had enough.now he want"s to sfay here for good in the Philippines as the world changed not for the better ..as long as we stay happy and contented where we are right now. By the way when it comes to Thai relationship it's always money first before love he said.
Thailand overrated, not many English speaking people there. looking forward too your videos if you decide too go. maybe you should go to Thailand for the experience 😉 for me Thailand is a great vacation spot. I chose Philippines over Thailand!!!
It’s not overrated at all. It’s a far superior country in almost every way. Their English is as functional broken Tagalog as. Most Filipinos don’t actually speak English, they’ve got like 30 things memorized. For as many Filipinos that speak fluent English, they’re actually many Thais that do as well especially those that work in real estate. Most people have no idea what they’re talking about when it comes to Thailand.
@alansapilipinas it may be more advanced in Thailand, but the Philippines are filled with genuine people. that is priceless 👌 I have family in Thailand (aranyaprathet) step-mom and 2 stepbrothers. I've been going there for the last 30+years with my family as well as by myself. overrated was kind of harsh but it's just an opinion my friend. aloha and God Bless
@@craigstevens7241 I didn’t say Filipinos aren’t genuine. WTH do you think I’ve been coming here for 3 years. With a Filipino YT channel. Thai people are just as blessed and hospitable as Filipinos. They don’t get enough credit for that.
I have been to Thai and agree that the food is better. I live in Iloilo and the fact is that language culture and peace of mind are a lot better here. Even if you found a beautiful woman in Bangkok you have to either pay her money or her parents.
I have been postponing visiting Japan because there have been warnings that Japanese police will stop nonJapanese looking persons and fine them with made up violations... is this true?
Every country on earth has distinct beauty as it's created by God for us to be the place we must live. Maybe comparison is for the people with mentality is too narrow but if you have broad mind you can understand that beauty rather than comparing it to others what's important is the people's adaptability and hospitality which adds more beauty in a certain country. Some people comparing Filipinos beauty to other Asians or western people once again there's no comparison as you've said beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and the people appreciate the beauty of one's person. For me, comparison is a kind of jealousy that turns into negativity and toxicity which overloaded your pride but Filipina have proven their beauty through crown they've brought in the international battle of beauty record shows who's having more beauty crown.
It is where you were welcomed with open arms and treated as family with love ❤️ and respect and you enjoy our company, it’s not a perfect country, transportation, telecommunication and infrastructure but if you can put up with it, ohhhhh I Miss the Philippines 🇵🇭 so much.
You won't be finding too many English speakers in Thailand, yes the food is better and the rent is cheaper but English makes it so much nicer. Philippines for life!
.Thailand is on top 5 for foreign tourists..the world know Thailand ...Piglippins only by mistake you got partner/spouse or houseslaves nannies cleaning toilets the Phiglippins you know about...😂😂😂
Well, We Pilipinos are not forbidding all foreigners to go to other Asian Countries, they are always free to go and explore our neighboring Asian countries but for some to compare us to Thailand regarless of what they have and we dont🤷🏻♂️ We dont care at all, if you are happy that you are in Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia or Vietnam, then we feel the same for each foreigners. As you may know that most of Asian countries look down on us a lot of times as for being Pilipinos yet We never say anything bad about them unless otherwise! But We have God Almighty who strenghten us regardless of the circumstances! One day God will make our country much better place to be that WE-PILIPINOS WILL NEVER ACCEPT ANYMORE FOREIGNERS IN OUR SOIL! 🤷🏻♂️ Peace!
Such a wonderful insights. Always enjoyed watching your video and thanks for staying and finding your hearts desires to our country. Watching you from Manila, Take Care and GOD be with u.
You should go to Thailand and see for yourself. I sense that you like living in BGC because your comfortable with your surroundings. Things that your familiar with in the States you can find it in BGC, Your right though, communication is the key to a happy life. Without good communition, everything and everyone is just full of ...I've never been to Thailand but I've been to Japan and Korea and I loved both countries but it's very difficult because of the language barrier.
I want to promote Barry J. Briggs channel here an American who loves the Philippines. Check out his latest vlog it’s like a documentary. And yes Thailand is a beautiful country but the downside is their religion is Buddhism, they don’t believe in God, legalization of weed, lady boys, transgender/lgbt all over. Been to Mexico we ordered this 40$ and mango juice as soon as the waitress handed our order she says the mango has alcohol she gave us 3 glass shots she knew that we have a kid with us didn’t inform us beforehand ended paying 70$ were shocked 😂We can’t say what we want because there’s a language barrier and it sucks that’s also the problem in Thailand.
the only positive thing about ladyboys in thailand is they accept their biology as a boy not like wokes in the west they are delusional believing they're real women 😂
Being Buddhist, atheist, supporting LGBTQ rights and smoking weed are freedoms they enjoy. To my knowledge none of those is illegal in Thailand. You’re unfairly judging others because they think and act differently? How would you feel if someone said the downside to Filipinos is that they’re Christian? To each his own, particularly when it comes to religion. Be more tolerant and accepting of others.
Philippines is winner, because Philippines has it all, Where on earth you can see the 3 incredible wonder of nature which are not man - made? ( Mt.Mayon, Subterranean River & Chocolate Hills) only in the Philippines!..Is Thailand has wonder of nature which are not man made? Except the beaches ok? Just asking..in Philippines the communication is NO barrier in all walks of life because Filipino's are speaking English while most Thais are not speaking English.. Philippines has great Health Care because Filipino's are access to the free consultation, medice & surgery in clincs and Phillippines govt Hospitals, in infrastructure Philippines has already 3 modern LRT & MRT, Big international airports, modern long Bridges ,modern long elevated roads, skyways, overpass, bridges, etc..and continiously improving because there has ongoing construction of many many BIG infra projects all over Metro Manila such as new modern LRT & MRT trains , new modern BIG international airport and the ambitious multi USBDollar modern Rapid Subway Train etc..Philippines has World Class Hospitals, and numerous modern cities that you can enjoy and shop till you drop plus great weather and stunning natural beauty.. Philippines is like a nut which all you need is in inside of it.. Philippines is truly a HOME..no doubt even some foreign bloggers are living in the Philippines permanently and chosen the Philippines as their second home..
I love both Thailand and the Philippines. I'm a foodie so for me, Philippines wins hands down. Think of adobo, lumpia, sinigang, la-eng, panset, ... the list goes on...
@pmdub4935 I don't think so. She spelled pandit wrong. But anyways I love both countries. As for the food, for me it is equally the same. Maybe because of my Filipino taste buds. Love Thailand from 🇵🇭
*Thailand is best for beginners in traveling.* Literally everything is catered for foreigners, the food, transpo, infrastructure. (Because their economy is highly reliant on tourism. Yet after some time, travelers move to their neighboring countries, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Philippines. some like Indonesia, some like Vietnam, and some like the Philippines better. Because they got tired of what Thailand has to offer. out of all countries in South East Asia, *The Philippines is the highest in domestic tourism,* meaning, Filipinos travel more in their country than foreigners. *That is why whenever I watch travel vloggers, they’re shocked whenever they go to islands and majority of tourists are locals.* because of this, they have more chance of meeting locals and sharing genuine connections with the locals since language isn’t a problem.
Hey men, first time watching your vlog. Well, in my opinion, it's up to you to decide whether you want to stay in the Philippines or move to Thailand for a new experience. There are lots of foreign nationals of different races that, once they set foot in the Philippines, instantly fell in love with the beauty and charm of the Philippines. not only because of the charm and beauty of the beaches and islands, but because of the hospitality, friendliness, warmth, and simplicity of the locals' lives. So its up to you men that someday you will leave the Philippines and go to Thailand. Wish you luck, men.
I've been to Philippines for 3 months, Thailand for over a year. The language barrier in Thailand is not as big of a problem as you fear; you would do just fine. The relationships are not all transactional in Thailand; personally I was trying to date casually, and I kept meeting great girls who wanted commitment and real relationships. Personally I feel safer in Thailand. And the internet is indeed much more reliable in Thailand, as you've heard. The only winning point about the Philippines for me was the sheer abundance of dating options, it's on another level compared to Thailand (or anywhere else).
Thailand’s great for a visit but to live? Philippines hands down. Easier to communicate with locals because everyone speaks English, and for that reason alone, it’ll be easier to settle down, get a job, etc.
Did you say that Thailand is the land of smiles? Well, knowing how Philippine humour, character and personality is like, if that is the case, then the Philippines is the land of laughs! Now, you choose how to live your (every) day! 😂😊
What I’ll share here is anecdotal. It is based on personal experience, preference and observation. Yours may be different - and just as valid. So no personal attacks please. First, Brian, you seem to convey skepticism about Thailand, which you haven’t experienced. Isn’t that precisely what you felt your Oregon friends/family might be thinking in your other videos? That until they experience the Philippines, they would not appreciate the happiness you’re enjoying now? Did I misunderstand? I have lived in the Philippines for 18+ years and have been on a few month-long Thailand visits. FOOD This is a matter of personal taste (duh). I prefer Thai food. I for one am fine with spicy food. And it doesn’t have to be spicy. Simply tell the server your preference. In terms of choices, there are plenty. No, it’s not all pad thai. I frequent the night markets where I splurge. I enjoy 95% of everything I try. It’s a hit or miss for me with Filipino food. It’s also cheaper in Thailand. For an average meal without alcohol, easily subtract $3-4 from what you pay in Manila. And if you ever go, coconut ice cream is to die for. HOUSING I find quality control in construction dodgy in Manila condos. Unless the builder is a big name like Ayala, design may not be well thought out. Craftsmanship also leaves a lot to be desired. But of course if you get the high end builders, you pay a premium. CULTURE Filipinos tend to want to be anything but Filipino. They want the white skin, the European nose, the American fashion, the Korean whatever. Thais are happy in their own skin and keep to their culture. One can more easily find activities to enjoy culture in Thailand. Beauty pageants: in this day and age? I choose not to participate in something that treats women as objects or trophies. Based on what? Whose standard of beauty? And God forbid they still do the swimsuit competition. COMMUNICATION This is where the Philippines shines. Not even any debate here. They understand and speak English. You can have easy, meaningful conversations for hours with most Filipinos. Not the case with Thais. You may have to ask 3-4 people to get a coherent answer. INTERNET At the hotels and Airbnbs I stayed at in Thailand in the last year, connection sites ranged between 150 and 380 Mbps. Cellular averaged 15. I don’t know what it’s like in the Philippines because I haven’t been for a good while. SAFETY, CRIME Mind what someone already stated: Filipinos treat white people better than they do even their fellow countrymen. Automatically in their mind white people are beautiful, rich and everything good. They love you, Brian. A black or brown person wouldn’t have the same reception. In terms of crime, I felt safer in Thailand. On a boat tour of Ang Thong Marine Park, I met a Korean businessman who had lived for years in both Thailand and the Philippines. He said the same thing: from his experience, Thailand was a safer place. Having said that, I’m open to visiting the Philippines again (last time was 8 years ago). I haven’t been to BGC. I’m keen to see what Brian is talking about.
Yea, I have a co worker that went to Thailand, fully loaded , stayed there for like 2 months, at the end he didn't' even have money for a plane ticket, to go back home to the US. Our supervisor picked him up.H e said he will never go back there again . That was too too funny.
That used to be the same in the Philippines. Man pay dowry for the woman. But now, there are much more women than men so the dowry eventually disappeared.😊😊😊
It's better to stay in the Philippines buddy. You can enjoy while earning money here. How did I say so? HelloBrian, Imyour subsriber, just visit Thailand and compare notes, if you are happy there , well.and good, but if you are much happier here in Pinas, just go.back and explore our many islands and be frend to the locals, dont.be afraid, they are soo warm, hspitable and very accomodating people, so that u will appreciate moree our country. Thailand have beautiful women they do but not a lot. lol I been there didn’t see much but in the Philippines they’re everywhere from the squatters to high life you see them.
You have the advantages of English language & an upcoming startup scene (Cebu City, imho). Yeah, internet sucks for RUclips, but it will get better the more folks use facebook video chat. Damn, grats on liking balut. Liked & subbed.
The Philippines is a lovely country and a great place to be. My interest is how do most of you guys make so much wealth, I'm just curious about the whole process. I still haven't figured out what to invest in yet. Somebody once told me "It costs you more to be poor." 🤯
I wonder why they cut back the visas to only make it 2 months instead of the previous 3? i think? I'm not an expat i'm a filipino citizen but i find this quite vexing.
Thanks for the video, you are not the only one doing it, almost majority of expats and farangs are flying back and forth to Thailand and Philippines as they can't make up their mind at all. Both countries have the same concepts when it comes to nightlife, quality of living and almost everything. That's the reason.
Thailand more varieties of nature not just only beaches and islands north east west south different vibes , rare to face big typhoon , earthquake , just only flood in a short time , surely language is the one barrier for foreigner. but thai people not necessary to speak english in their own country, you must to adaptability your own its your problem we proud our culture proud our unique language never colonized from the west
I agree with you,I love Thai food and Thai is more liberated in regards to sex workers and ladyboys and Thailand is hotter and more humid than Philippines.
thailand is overated....and its economy is on a downhill and predicted to go down for decades to come....tourism have fed thai economy for so long, and now there are so many competition everywhere...
One of my best friends lives in Pattaya , his point and my point have always been the same. If you like to eat, Thailand, outside of that you can find the same thing's in the Philippines.
ive been in thailand last 3 weeks and its very crowded trust me the food is good the temples are amazing but i still prefer a clean city less people im glad i visited thailand in the firstime the people is nice but not like filipinos who has a very spiritual and full of happiness
I wouldn't leave my country though i have gone abroad for travel. You should try going to the provinces too..food is amazing and locals welcome you. Manila, Manila there's no place like Manila..kept going back to Manila.😊
It’s not a century, just 2 decades when we were an American Commonwealth.😊 We learn better because I guess our alphabet is similar to American Alphabet.
@@edzeljereza8234: It looks like Filipino English, using "just" to mean "still 2 decades short".... Colloquial English in the Philippines has evolved its own grammar. The result can be quite confusing for foreigners, and even among Filipinos themselves.
I keep seeing comments here that go "BGC isn't the real Philippines. You should go to the other provinces, slum areas, etc." He's been here for more than a year. I'm sure he's gone to all those places, but he obviously prefers to stay in BGC because everything is westernized. Stop trying to tell him where to go and how to live his life. Stop trying to be a know-it-all and mind your own fecking business.
This, finally someone mentions the obvious! Not to mention Thailand humidity 90 percent compared to a 50 percent in the Phillipines, huge liveable difference. The girls better looking and more exotic in the Phillipines,at least before 40;while Thailand has mainly the cookie cutter look alike. Not even close decision for me,staying in the Phils and visiting Thailand once a year is preferential.
I’ve lived in both…have a 20 year Thai Elite visa, so I obviously I love Thailand. But honestly, you’re not going to find a more livable/walkable area than BGC for the price (even in Thailand). A similar type of condo, in a similarly desirable neighborhood in Bangkok, is going to cost you about the same as it does in BGC if not more.
It's very hard for a foreigner to immerse himself to a certain culture where you cannot communicate with the locals bcoz of language barrier...that is the sure edge of the 🇵🇭 against 🇨🇷
As to the women thing, yeah there also Filipinas who look at your wallet more than the looks or maybe both BUT most Filipinas marry foreigners especially Americans for greener pasture if you know what I mean. They won’t marry you and settle in your country just to be fed. They want to go there to work and earn money so she won’t be a burden to you. I know a lot of them, some of them are even my friends.
Don't compare Philippines to Thailand because it's not same culture and islands Philippines have lots of islands compare to Thailand for cumunacation skills Philippines is the best for English speaking English is the 2nd language teaching in school
Since you're only 3 hrs away, why not come for a week or two? Since 2013, Bangkok has consistently been the most visited city on planet earth by international arrivals - typically followed by Paris, London, Dubai, Singapore etc. in that order (Source: City Index by MasterCard). Feels like a waste if you wouldn't ever get to check it out. Just a 3-hr flight!
So Bangkok Thailand is the most visited city? Well, Philippines is the #1 social media users. And that is why this Vlogger is here to acquire thousands of subscribers for his channel and then move on to other countries…
Stay in the Philippines for easier, and less stressful, day to day living. Conversations, menus, legal contracts, movies, etc are in English. Then visit Thailand whenever you want ... Flights are cheap...
If you are from an english speaking country, philippines is a better choice. Tho some people cant speak english fluently, everyone can understand it. Everything here is in english, the restaurant menu, the contracts, media, even our constitution is written in english. Just dont expect metro manila to be a paradise.
it’s not just people from english speaking countries, but most countries in the west and other hispanic countries. Filipino culture, mannerisms, beliefs, values are influenced by the western culture, so therefore, it’s easier for them to connect with the Filipinos and form a good relationship compare to a completely different culture, religion and beliefs.
@@kar.L2502 No offense, not really in your saying, not all the cases. Western tourists are mostly to be interested and preferred to go to countries with more different culture and traditions to them not to the country with a same or similar background like their home country. That's the reason why Asian countries like China, Thailand, Japan, Malaysia etc. attract much Western tourists than the Philippines because of its cultural and traditional difference. Western tourists are more interested in studying Eastern religions(Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism etc.),tasting authentic Oriental foods(like the Thai, Malay, Japanese etc.), train themselves in Martial Arts(Muay Thai, Karate, Taekwondo etc.), exploring Oriental structures(temples, shrines, palaces etc.)rather than integrating along with the Westernized and Christianized Philippines. That's the reality of traveling among the Western people....
Now that the dust has settled, would you rather live in Philippines or Thailand? 🤷♀️

Well said Philippines is feel like your HOME

Wow you sound so hateful and racist. You are not perfect yourself
@@craigstevens7241 you sound so racist and self-righteous. Really? Thais are not genuine people? You met each one of them?
@@craigstevens7241 I didn’t say Filipinos aren’t genuine. WTH do you think I’ve been coming here for 3 years. With a Filipino YT channel. Thai people are just as blessed and hospitable as Filipinos. They don’t get enough credit for that.
Both countries have different flavors; there are no issues with different countries. at the end of the day, its up to your taste.
By all means, go! If you're happy there, then that's the place for you. The main thing is you're satisfied and happy where you are. Lots of luck!
I have been to Thai and agree that the food is better. I live in Iloilo and the fact is that language culture and peace of mind are a lot better here.
Even if you found a beautiful woman in Bangkok you have to either pay her money or her parents.

Peace!
Why would you want to prohibit foreigners from coming to your country?
I like Filipino food. I want to taste the natural flavors of the ingredients than drowning the dish with a lot of spices.
Dude! How can you compare the Phils with Thailand if you've never been there?
Exactly like what’s the point of this video 😅
He’s a RUclipsr, it is called content. When he finally gets to Thailand he’ll probably overhype that place as well.

You can travel and try new things, but when you get weary you can also come back here in the Philippines, your 2nd home.
why commit? just take an extended vacay and see how you like it. boots on the ground experience is better than strangers on the internet
*That is why whenever I watch travel vloggers, they’re shocked whenever they go to islands and majority of tourists are locals.*
because of this, they have more chance of meeting locals and sharing genuine connections with the locals since language isn’t a problem.
Go to thailand and see for yourself. Philippines is a free country, go as you wish.
I love Brian because when you narrate it sounds like you are reading a poet. Videis are crisp And you are handsome too. ❤

Okay goodluck with learning and reading the Thai alphabet,if you're into ladyboys, sex workers and spicy food then Thailand is for you.
FOOD
This is a matter of personal taste (duh).
HOUSING
I find quality control in construction dodgy in Manila condos. Unless the builder is a big name like Ayala, design may not be well thought out. Craftsmanship also leaves a lot to be desired. But of course if you get the high end builders, you pay a premium.
CULTURE
Filipinos tend to want to be anything but Filipino.
COMMUNICATION
This is where the Philippines shines. Not even any debate here. They understand and speak English. You can have easy, meaningful conversations for hours with most Filipinos. Not the case with Thais. You may have to ask 3-4 people to get a coherent answer.
INTERNET
At the hotels and Airbnbs I stayed at in Thailand in the last year, connection sites ranged between 150 and 380 Mbps. Cellular averaged 15. I don’t know what it’s like in the Philippines because I haven’t been for a good while.
SAFETY, CRIME
Mind what someone already stated: Filipinos treat white people better than they do even their fellow countrymen.
"Thais are happy in their own skin and keep to their culture" Isn't Thailand the plastic surgery of Southeast Asia?
