After 10 years you would probably run into the statute of limitations if you tried to sue. The badge seems to be the MAZDA Genuine Mascot RX-7 FD3 SCutout Efini Badge Emblem. To me that car is worth $8.43 if they would pay shipping.

I'm guessing the owner was/is doing time. Assuming the facility was insured, the indoor car garage business, failed to provide the car, the protection from the elements, the rx7 owner bargained for. In other words, he could have parker it at a friend's driveway for much less.
To return the car back to the shape it was left, (10 years ago) the owner paid $,$$$
      The end
      Your welcome .

Mazda (Efini) started making the FD body style mid way through 1991 in Japan so you can actually find 1991 FD’s. The serial numbers are sequential based on production so the SN number on the car is how many there were at the time yours was built.

I'm always so amazed at seeing all of these cars being in great shape after the detailing, I'm from Eastern Europe, we also have amazing old school cars, but because of heavy Winters, and a lot of salt of the roads, our cars would never survive 10-20 years without maintenance, it literally takes 1 winter to generate hella rust that could destroy a car massively. I envy decent weather and no salt on the roads. We have so much legendary European cars, that still drive on the road, but they are in such bad shape just because of salt & rust, and take a lot of resources to restore.

The condition of the interior panels can't be overstated. FDs usually have badly degraded interior panels and these look practically new after your amazing detail work. Plus being an early production run that'll have full OEM spec and super low miles, I'd say it could fetch $65-75k

Nice job on a beautiful black car. This car had a rotary engine (also known as a Wankel, named after the inventor), but they later had to switch to a conventional engine due to pollution and oil burning problems. I hope they bring this one back to original condition, and you certainly helped toward that goal with your detailing.

I used to detail cars at a dealership in a previous life. We took in a very old Hyundai hatchback that we were going to wholesale because it had a billion miles on it. It was full of animal fur, food, and poop. Of course I was tasked with cleaning it for auction. The worst smell I've ever encountered was coming from the inside of this car. So I started cleaning it and noticed the manual adjustable seats wouldn't move. Like they were jammed. So I reached my hand under them and started pulling out pieces of dead deteriorating rabbits. Multiple rabbits. The woman who had traded the car in worked nights at the post office. She kept these rabbits in the car at all times. On her lunch break she would eat lunch in her car with the rabbits. She did this for years. Then she was moved to day shift. The first really hot day that the car sat outside at work, the rabbits didn't make it. She was distraught. She "buried" the rabbits in their "home" and immediately traded the car in because she couldn't bear the sight of the car any longer. Anywho, it's a sad story of mental illness, loss, and one completely disgusting detail that I'll never forget.

Love it, just wish we saw more of the paint correction as that's the most satisfying part to watch. Also, why do you never show paint being sealed or coated? That's also one of the most satisfying things to watch but I feel like it never get's shown or mentioned. Pretty sure I've asked this a few times but don't think it's ever answered.

I had worked a number of wreckers yards in my youth, while doing my mechanics apprenticeship. One day I had to pull the motor from a car that had been T-boned HARD, I mean the driver
seat was pushed against the passenger seat. Once I pulled the engine and trans the boss told me to gas axe the good bits off and then throw it in the pile (scrap car pile) so in order to cut the rear 1/4 panel off I had to cut the B pillar and remove both doors. Once the driver door was off I noticed the top of a red shoe, so I grabbed the porta-power and stretched the metal until I could access it. It was a red high heal with the foot still in it, it had been amputated, you could clearly see saw marks in the bone, we called the cops and they took it. Another time at another motor wrecker, I was told to go down the back and remove all the ID plates and decals from an XB Falcon GT 4 door that had been hit by a train, 5 people died, anyway I was cutting the driver door free to get at the decal under the striker plate, I had to separate the door skin, as soon as the skin was removed, I found 3 mummified fingers inside.

Now for the logo on the car, it's actually the Japanese mazda logo for their Efini brand that was discontinued back in 1997 I think. As for the manual, it may have been missing the original 1992 manual so the owners probably found a 1993 manual and stuck it in the car.

Stick with the OEM R1 black suede seats. As things relate to the production date, Mazda started cranking out US production models in December of 1991, so there are a few early examples in the US with 12/91 date stamps in their doors. 1/92 is STILL a very early production example. In completely stock condition, a year ago this car would have brought $70k. However, with the softening market, the current value is $55-65k, IMO. 🤓👍🏼

6:12 Thats Mazda's Efini (Infini) Badge, its a Figure 8 inside of a Rotary Engine, the R in Rx-7 stands for Rotary engine. This Efini Brand was Supposed to be Mazdas Luxury brand, but only lasted from 1991-1997, due to the economy the badges were on Rx-7s from 1991-1992. then it in 93-96 switched to the Eternal Flame emblem ( the one thats on the Wheels)

It's definitely one of the first production and yes that is unreal the storage owner didn't tell the car owner but if I have a car to that caliber in a storage unit I would have checked on it a few times a year just to make sure nothing crazy happened to it.

In the late '70s/early '80s I ran a truck mounted soils drilling rig. After a day of driving an unusual odor filled the cab. Under the hood our company feral cat had draped the remains of a rabbit over the windshield washer bottle. After about four days there it was mostly just fur and bones. And stink.

January 92 sounds about right for 93 production year. 93 models would have been available around May 92. The VIN number would tell you what number it was off the production line.

That thing has been through the wringer. The BB R2 you had a bit ago was WAY nicer. This is a BB R1, which I also have. The 92 date doesn’t really mean much, mine is also a 92.

1991 was the first year for the F RX7 limited, some of these cars went to AEROdyne to make track cars and add body kits. It should be a synchronized twin turbo worth around 45,000 on today's market. Very desirable RX7

Idk if you guys know this bit ozone is dangerous. At safe levels it does not remove odors but at unsafe levels it can deaden your sense of smell so you are less likely to know your receiving a dangerous exposure. This is according to the Connecticut department of public health. I've seen you use it a lot before I'm just letting you know otherwise I love the content.
