Robyn Hood Review of the Finale episode 8 of season 1. This is the last episode of Director X's adaptation of the Robin Hood story that no-one can recognise as the original story, only as a horrific one. Long gone are Robin Hood's morals or fighting for the people, now Prince John is the hero alongside the Sherrif, which raised a problem for the finale! We had to force completely out of character statements, acts and get the hood gang to entirely lie about their own actions. Just to TRY and convince the audience that our main characters are not the bad guys by any definition. While there is no way this Robyn Hood series should get a series 2, as it is tax payer funded and stocked full of the very latest in societal destructive ideas. Maybe that's exactly what Canada wants! At this point anything is possible, but until then, I'll take pleasure in the end story, Prince John becomes mayor, evicts everyone and sends them to prison forever! But what did you think of what you saw? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching :)
I’ve never seen a more whitey hating cop hating show in my life. They really think that they “showed that cop” who they lunged at and Robyn’s mom screamed to LAW ENFORCEMENT to “put it down” after he was attacked in Robyn’s apartment. Speaking of which, if he put his gun down at that protest, I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t make it out of there Alive. Even if the cop was wrong (he wasn’t) it would have changed nothing about the property being sold. It’s like these characters have no concept of actually working and paying for things. Really promotes healthy habits to society. If they put the same amount of effort to portraying themselves as victims and stealing shit into doing something productive, they wouldn’t have to worry about losing their housing because they’d actually OWN something. Sorry that cops don’t think highly of jobless scumbags who attack and throw shit at them for doing their jobs. The people in that building had no idea what the cops were there for in that first episode before anyone even got shot (could have been a murder, rape, etc) but they act like animals and throw shit at them…they’ll be the same people to wonder where those cops are when someone wrongs them. I’m not even a cop and I don’t like them. I’m sure that nominal director x will just assume it’s because I’m “racist.” Not because his pointless show is trash.
Hmm. The tower's civilian population is racially diverse, but the criminal hood gang is 100% black. I love when people accidentally tell on themselves.
Robyn: we’re going to barricade ourselves in to keep them from evicting us from our tower block. A sane law enforcement officer: cut the water and power they’ll abandon the building in three days.
If you’ve ever been in Section 8 housing, you’ll realize they don’t need running water to use the bathroom. Every project staircase smells like a urinal.
The woman who was shot and paralyzed as consequences for criminal trespassing decided that the best way to end the finale is to... Criminally trespass. Yeah, not the smartest cookie in the coo- NO! Not the cookie jar!
RIP to the true victim of this entire show: The Cookie Jar. It had one job: to provide protection for the wh*res in the house and it did it's job faithfully. Gone by never forgotten! Cookie Jar 2023-2023
The Despot brought up a good point in his review of this train wreck: The tower-blocks of the Projects were widely regarded as signs of oppression of urban minorities and poor, and the people living in them UTTERLY HATED the Project Towers. (Crime flourished in the Projects, too.) literally NO ONE was sad to see them demolished. But Director X, genius that he is, seems to believe that black and poor people _belong_ in the Projects
That's because he's a posh lad, who comes from a family with money, went to a good school, and probably the only black person he knew growing up was his dad.
I watched Despot's review of Robyn Hood so I know what you're referring to and I visualise the clip from The Wire where people were clapping when the Project Towers were blown up.
I think it's very clear little thinking was put into this. All people want to either get out of the hood or see it improved to where it is no longer a hood. The hood is not some culture that needs protecting as this mess is attempting to preach.
Well, these poor arses couldn't bother to earn to rent/buy "nice" houses. Just because scum comes to towers and other inhabitants let them get away with their BS, they get what they deserve.
The funniest thing to me, is that even the show itself admits that many people have already left the building and taken prince's offer to take the better homes over the current trash building. In other words, the smartest characters in the show have already left.
And thanks to Robyn and her literal gang, all the people who took that offer in hopes of improving their lot are now screwed. They probably packed their stuff and arranged for moving accommodations for somewhere to live during the construction, and now that's just money down the drain. Sure, they can go back to their vertical ghetto, but I'm sure they're _thrilled_ with how things turned out. And that's assuming they didn't break their leases contingent upon the promise of newer and better housing that _can't_ be on the table anymore and are now literally homeless. Something something crabs in buckets.
@@Quandry1 What about the lease with the old property owner? We know Prince didn't own the Sherwood building before or he wouldn't have had to buy it. Meaning whoever owned the building before (and _presumably_ owns it again now; was it ever explained that Prince sold Sherwood back to its original owner?) had a significant portion of their residents up and leave their old apartments ahead of time based on a promise Prince can now no longer keep.
I doubt he believes that to be true. If society functioned as it should, Director X and people like him would be given the help they need, because they’re clearly a bit too far removed from reality for it to be healthy.
Arent all these YT videos going on IMDB? You could RATE this video on IMDB then ... and if it gets a better rating than the show ... might be a bit infuriating.
@@Muck006 I honestly had no idea, but IT IS TRUE. I just left a review for this video on IMDB. Of course 10/10. But that is an HONEST (and heartfelt) 10/10 review. IMDB insisted I write 600 characters at minimum to leave my review, but it was worth it. I encourage everyone else to do so as well.
This happens all the time in modern writing, when the writers finally realise that their villains are more sympathetic than the heroes, they have them commit senseless atrocities that don't even benefit them or their plans.
_the residents of Sherwood and Forest to set their own houses on fire_ If they're renting, then the homes aren't really theirs, they're owned by someone else. The city, if the buildings are public facilities.
I've never watched a show wanting the "antagonist" to win. He actually did nothing wrong throughout the series and the writers just made him do some unnecessary crimes at the end to make him look evil. The show has been a great insight into the creator's worldview
This is why Canada has a housing crisis, not even kidding. In my neighborhood, the city is expediting a homeless warehouse where they will place "our most vulnerable" (ie drug addicts and petty criminals) directly beside a primary school and community center, while blocking projects that would build 500 units of market rent. The true horror of this show is that it is a reflection of how our government thinks; hence the tax gifts.
So...she's broadcasting online a political statement that she will not comply with a court order to vacate, and will use violence in support of that political aim...this is beyond criminal, at this point it's counting down the hours until JTF2 arrives and solves this problem for them.
exactly what i was thinking if this is Trudeau's Canada the next wave would straight up be the Canadian Armed Forces in full riot gear or he would get the list of residents then freeze any and all assets they have from bank accounts to running water while law enforcement sets up a comfortable perimeter around the building id give these characters a week before they resort to infighting or give up entirely cannibalism isnt off the table for them either lmao
To be fair to Vlad the Implailer, he was a beloved hero of his own subjects and only feared by invaders and criminals... So he'd more than likely be the real hero in this show
I am in disbelief about how John Prince; the supposed bad guy has been the most reasonable character in the entire show. With a show like this, where they try to portray characters like him to be as vile as possible in hopes you won’t notice the main character’s actions, he has constantly made efforts to negotiate peacefully with Sherwood even though out everything they did to him. Either it was a Miracle it slipped past Director X or they’re so delusional that they think this constitutes as being evil. The whole thing about drowning the homes to make a moat thing kinda seems like something they pulled out last minute to attempt to make him look evil but it kinda comes off as out of character. I also fail to see how wanting to raise the value of the area - making it a better place for everyone, is a bad thing.
I choose to believe the meta logic behind the "moat" plot point is "rich guy protects himself from black people with a moat because black dude don't swim". Um... Prince? My dude? Just do like the Americans and build a wall. It's a lot cheaper, and "hope they can't swim" isn't nearly as reliable as "hope they can't phase through solid matter".
I love how none of that scheme was hinted at or built up at all in the preceding episodes - his worst 'crime' was being kind of a jerk sometimes. Then out of the blue, he's some cartoonishly evil supervillain, like he came out of a James Bond film from the 70s.
If Prince was the villain they want to claim him to be. He'd just wait for them to barricade themselves in and fortify themselves into the block tower. Wait for night, and have it set on fire. Even if it was figured out it was arson it would solve all of his problems, and he could just make the arsonist disappear to never have that problem come back. It would also have the bonus of taking down the building, speeding up his reconstruction and revitalization of the area.
the whole flooding thing was definitely not thought out and if it wasn't last minute. then they never figured out how to actually get to it and then realized they needed to get it in. But it is badly written on so many levels that Disparu is right. None of it works just from a business standpoint let alone so many others. No reason to buy up the land first, no reason to evict them, none of it. Hell Even the line that he is thinking bigger isn't even thought out because Walled Cities are part of ancient history, so he's not thinking any bigger at all even if he wanted to make it some kind of high class fortress of a city. It's an ancient idea.
Season 2 predictions: Lionheart is the father to either Robyn or Jill, and Guy Gisbane is the father of the other. It would explain why the tower thinks Robyn's mother is some sort of community leader.
I think it's pretty likely that if the fathers are ever mentioned again, lionheart will be one of them. After all, what better way to make Robyn or her sister "royalty" then having the father be the modern version of Richard the Lionhearted. On the other hand, it's just as likely the topic will never be explored seeing as how no one in the series apparently has a father in their lives and that's just considered normal and standard.
I think you're right. The fact that the "insane" lines are out of camera leads me to believe that Director X initially just set up the "bad guy" to just wanting to gentrify the place while downtalking the peasants, and they had to introduce that last minute change because of how widely derided this garbage has been. Amp it to 11 since people don't seem to be developing any of this visceral hatred for the random rich white guy he himself feels.
I love how the supposed villain has already won without doing anything illegal while the heros have committed all kind of crimes. But the writers realized that so they make the bad guy pull out of nowhere the most stupid, nonsensical and evil plan of all.
@@Panzer_Runner I wonder if it’s just a case of people relying on auto complete without checking on what gets spat out. Another one is ‘loose’ and ‘lose’, and of course how could we ever forget ‘there’, ‘their’ and ‘they’re’?
Cops in this universe shoot an unarmed old woman for a slight insult but don’t shoot the criminals shooting chemical weapons at them. Very sound logic lol.
We continue down the age of entertainment where I enjoy reviewers more than the original material Hollywood produces. What a sad yet oddly peaceful place to be.
The entire end plots regarding prince and the sheriff are literally the most "i couldn't figure out how to make this character absolutely evil before now" storybeat that i have ever seen. Prince buying up the land _before_ flooding it, is literally not even evil. He could actually flood it at his leisure and evict everyone at once prior, and it would be well within his rights. The sheriff didn't need to shoot anyone. you could literally arrest them as they leave and it would slowly whittle down the number of people that are in the building. she could even contact prince and have him shut off the power and water from these squatters, and they would all be done. point blank. knocking these people out does literally nothing. they ALL have the law on their side (at least before the "i need to make these characters evil" part came in).
16:00 - "Let's barricade ourselves into a building that's _scheduled for demolition,_ because that's always a good idea!" 35:00 - This is _all_ on camera, probably without sound. He's got them dead to rights attacking him. That attorney is disbarred at the very least.
So Robyn worked 2 days in 8 episodes and made a tower block bunker down. Who works here?... Did they all just move in and then after 60 days of no rent feel like they deserved to stay without paying? So the landlord and staff lost their jobs ...or are being held against their will? Someone had to pass out the eviction notices. The stores only have the supplies the Hood stole for now, but was Director X planning to have them jump into the future? Where the plan went through and they're using boats because he floods the area for no reason? Where was this going? I guess the bouncy castle needed a moat 🤣
Wasn’t even 2 days, she supposedly works multiple jobs but is only ever seen delivering the 2 parcels for some sort of “door dash” job. ‘Much’ is apparently the only one with a legitimate job working part-time at an auto repair shop.
@@BroNapartay They don't get renewed though, they get two from the off. They come in with either a two season deal, or a split production deal, which is where both seasons are made at the same time, they show half, and then just wait 6 months to a year to show the rest.
As a Canadian living in Ontario, this is the only place I ever hear about this show. Zero ads or trailers for it. I hope for a season 2 just for more Disparu commentary.
With all of the criminals seemingly living in the same area, building a wall around those buildings would probably have been far easier. _We’re barricading ourselves in_ Oh no.. the prisoners are refusing to leave their cells.
Please GOD let there be a second season so I have more stupidity to laugh at. We don't have to worry about stereotyping black people. This guy is doing it for us!
These shows don't get renewed though, they get two from the off. They come in with either a two season deal, or a split production deal, which is where both seasons are made at the same time, they show half, and then just wait 6 months to a year to show the rest. They have shot 12 episodes of this already, and it was supposed to be 2 x 6 episodes, and episode 6 was meant to be the season 1 finale, which is why it ended with that bus scene.
Before I even watch this video I want to say this train wreck has been a blast having you commentate on it Disparu. Turning trash into comedy Gold for our entertainment and having to suffer though it we thank you 👍😘
31:14 Yes! Yes! That’s exactly what I thought when I heard this. All of that had to have been put in during post production because someone reviewing it whispered to Director X, “Um…your main bad guy isn’t a villain.” And X exclaimed, “But…but, he’s white! He’s rich! He owns a bunch of property! That’s got to make him evil!”
Wait, was she playing with a real sword? Why would her mommy let her kid even have access to a sword? This show should have been called "Robbing Hood and the Red Flags" for all the transgressions against good citizenship.
Now, in defense of giving swords to kids, I started teaching my kids how to use a sword at about age 6. However, I was always supervising and teaching. I just happen to love fencing and medieval weapons. Point of interest, we NEVER had a cookie jar full of... well, you know. Medieval weapon use? Yes. Wanton s3xual debauchery? No.
24:57 To be fair, knowing who Vlad the Impaler was up against, the lifetime of abuse and betrayal he suffered, and the fact he actually saved his country from Turkish invasion, it's easy to not only paint him as sympathetic or heroic. There's a reason people in that region still lionize him the way Americans do with George Washington. If anything, I think it speaks to this writer's bizarre inversion of talent that he wrote not one, but 90+% of the characters as less moral and sympathetic than one of the scariest men in human history.
I'm gonna miss these weekly showcases. Not that the show itself has been quality viewing, but what Disparu's been able to do with it. I NEVER actively want people to create media that's "so bad it's good" - because if that's your goal, you've failed instantly. This has been a rare instance of the stars aligning, cherish it lads.
24:58 Hey, Vlad the Impaler fought for his country against the empire that held him and his brother hostage, he ran a guerrilla campaign that inspired fear in his enemies because he had so few troops of his own compared with the Turks. You can't compare him to these fiddlers. If anything he was trying to prevent something from being stolen, Walachia.
The big villain is a straight, white, rich male businessman that owns land. I saw in one interview Director X said something along the lines of "If I wanted to go the easy route I would have made him Trump." Totally covered his tracks there.
This show is the most underrated comedy in 2023! From solidifying ALL the negative black stereotypes, demonizing businessmen trying to improve essentially a demiliterized zone and the catch phrase "Its Robbing time!" This show is gold!
Most of this episode felt like the Siege of Vraks from Warhammer 40k. Which is fitting since the invaders are the good guys and the defenders are the evil degenerates who believe that they can do whatever they want with no consequence
I theorize that they changed this last episode based on all the reviews they were getting from the previous episodes, all pointing out how the sheriff and John Prince were the actual good guys, and Robyn and crew are the bad guys. Their victim mentality stories were not working, so they had to force in some evil from out of now where.
I've seen this happen in shows before, that they suddenly realize most of the way through that the "villains" haven't actually been that villainous, so they force behavior that is now out of character.
Shows how fuqqed the moral compass of the writers are when they’re making the antagonists actual ‘good guys’ and the protagonists evil. In this show it doesn’t work for them, since we’ve watched 7 episodes of the protagonists being evil, the antagonists doing 1 or 2 evil things in the finale comes across as morally gray at best.
I agree. It would be one thing if the Hood had learned a lesson about their terrible actions, but the fact that the only thing that changed about the reversed morals was the villians suddenly acting more evil implies to me that it might have been tacked on. i.e. for 7 episodes we have been supposed to root for the criminials without that much bad behavior from John Prince, why would they suddenly change only his character?
Apple has extremely strict rules in Hollywood about not allowing their products to be shown as being used by any bad guys in a movie or show; so . . . we know who Apple thinks is the good guys in this show.
Prince's motives are entirely unrealistic. I agree that they realized they had made him too likeable, and so took a crazy left turn to try to ruin him.
The best thing in this review series is your reaction to that rich guy dancing(and your constant jokes about the jar). This Robyn Hood show is garbage but I will fully admit that dancing scene was gold lol 😂.
I think the funniest part is him reacting to the bit where the rich guys are like "Yeah! The Hood is robbing us! This is so cool!" Wtf even was that scene?
You almost have to love how the filmed the show and then realized Prince was never evil so they had to fix it in post. Worst case scenario is shooty cop get tossed under the bus as having gone rogue because they have no other evidence the sheriff did anything wrong. And even her murder of the bad cop can easily be explained because he suffered blunt force trauma to the back of the head and a clot could have easily formed and then caused a stroke. I truly want a S2 just to see how they try to write more of this crap.
The first conversation with the mom, the bouncy castle clip, and the obsession with the cookie jar were the greatest 😆 The commentary for all of it was even more hilarious and still made it more entertaining than the show itself. Disparu continues to take a bullet for everyone and it’s still genius XD
“Typing in the air” has got to be the dumbest thing in this show. You don’t need a “laser projection” keyboard to understand that having ZERO TACTILE OR VISUAL FEEDBACK would make for an abortive typing experience.
Director X’s talent: the “evil” characters THAT HE HAS FULL CONTROL OF WRITING, despite their random violent acts like the episode 1 freak out shooting, still cannot be evil. He cannot make an evil character that he wrote… At least have the cop attack the mom before Robyn attacks him.
Got to love the creative interpretation of laws all through the series. Does Canada really work under GTA-series, avoid physically interacting with the police for 'a day' and all charges are dropped.
_Does Canada really work under GTA-series_ The Canada depicted in the show does NOT exist. It's a complete nonsensical fantasy. Cities here don't have a sheriff's department, they have a police department with a chief of police, a board, and the usual assortment of detectives, sergeants, constables, etc. The Crown prosecutor would decide if a charge goes forward, a plea deal arranged, or the charges dropped. Pharmacies can't unilaterally jack up the price of prescription medications as these prices are controlled by the government, and there are several benefit programs run by the provincial government to assist those of lower income in need of expensive medications. The "news" media is decidedly left-wing and most certainly would run plenty of stories in favour of supposedly downtrodden or discriminated against groups. And so on and so on. Director Twitter, er, I mean Director X, apparently has no idea that the history of Canada in terms of race relations, its system of government and administration, and demographics, are all completely different from that of the United States.
Director X is breaking new ground with this series! A show that follows the exploits of the villains, and in the end the villains also win. The guy is an artistic genius. I guess we would call this "the villains journey"?
Its been an honor to be on this journey through the sludge that is this show with you. I actually hope this show gets another season so we can go for round 2! That is of course if your sanity will be able to handle it! haha. Great Job Disp!
For the love of comedy, I very much hope we get a season 2. Not because the show is actually worthwhile on its own, but because I have not laughed harder than over the past weeks thanks to you and Az reviewing this travesty
Given how the current Liberal-NDP federal government loves to spend taxpayer money on the media (especially the "news" networks, which all then --- quite coincidentally I'm sure --- have almost nothing bad to say about the government) I wouldn't be surprised at all if tax credits and subsidies became available for a second season.
Please, I implore Canada, have a season two. Sell the (filled) cookie jars online to help finance it! I haven’t laughed so hard in quite a long time. Great work Disparu!
We need many more seasons of this. No matter how dumb I feel, I will always know that there are bigger idiots out there. Also... I really hope that there is a "making of" as well. This is pure entertainment!!
30:45. So the master "plan" for businessmen... "the villain" is to buy up most of the area around him and IMPROVE it...... so making the city a better place to live is bad and we need to stop it 😮💨. That's what the plot is....
What actually infuriated me nonstop were that Prince's guards had the upper hand (and probably guns too) during a scene then after it cuts away to another stupid scene the guards are all knocked down in hand-to-hand fighting. My first question was: WHY?! You have guns. Use them! But credit for Director X for making this, whenever I'm angry or sad I'll just watch this and see the based man John Prince take on the world of "diverse" women.
"he own's a bunch of properties in this area!" Prince should and likely does own a bunch of properties in a lot of areas and people like him tend to buy up properties in areas around the properties they own. this is not unusual. None of this means anything. Any person like him that you looked up and what they owned you'd find similar things. he probably owns the same thing in multiple places in that very city and maybe others as well. This is the dumbest plot point ever but keeps getting used in this nonsense.
It's OK. They ADR in a bunch of lines with him confessing to being a murderer, and wanting to flood the town. So the Hood Gang was right along along don't you see?
I commend you on surviving. (24:56) Technically, Vlad the Impaler had one of the lowest crime rates of any regent in history. In reality, it's like "making a TV show from the perspective of" Charlie Manson.
The ADR thing is so insidious. They've completely changed the guy's character from what he actually acted out, most likely never told him the context of the lines being dubbed in, and took away any potential for him to object to the way he's being characterised.
Honestly, the actor probably doesn't care. He got paid anyway. Remember that acting is a job for most of them. It's not some higher calling. It's how they pay the bills.
Honestly, it won’t matter much. John Prince’s actor was the best thing in this show by a country mile, he can walk away knowing he brought a bit of reprieve to all the tens of people who watched his burning garbage, why would it matter to him if his character was retconned in the editing room? The whole show is bad, he’s only responsible for his acting and that was pretty good.
I want him to object, but something tells me the actor would defend Director X on Twitter and says he hopes his character gets killed on the show and the character shouldn't have any fans.
Shows like this are what happens when some mediocre bureaucratic nobody hears The Joker say, "It's not about the money; it's the MESSAGE" and thinks the best thing to do is mimic a sociopath in clown makeup. 🤷♂️
2:26... the CRIMINALS your after are in the building your outside of... you know the ones that escaped from your prison... why aren't you just going inside and getting them 😒🤷♂️.
Am I the only one hoping that someone just takes a gigantic wrecking ball to these buildings? Honestly, the Despot of Antrim showed the reaction to these horrific architectural monstrosities being demolished and everyone was happy to see it. NOBODY FIGHTS TO STAY IN A RAT'S CAGE. NOBODY. Disparu gets funnier with each episode I swear. Also, you know a show is complete crap when they turn the villain into Malcolm Merlyn from season 1 of CW's ARROW... why are so many people COPYING FROM THE CW these days? THEY CREATE GARBAGE.
It looks like that arrow hit his armor. If it's hard armor, then the arrow would have bounced or shattered. If it's soft armor, then the arrow would have gone through. Considering that the arrow stuck we can assume he's using soft armor, but by the fact that it barely stuck and did no damage to the officer we can conclude that the bow is incredibly weak. We're talking baby's first bow here; ballistic soft armor is not made to stop broadheads.
The arrow strike was just below the side of the vest, so all it had to do was go through his shirt, undershirt, and skin. The fact that the maximum penetration she got at that range, near point blank, from that bow still makes it worse than Baby's First Bow. As in, a knife would have gone in deeper than that. If you're going to be proud of building a foldable bow, Much, the least you can do is make it a recurve bow. One more thing the writers couldn't be bothered to do basic research on.
When I first started watching your breakdowns of Robyn Hood I thought it might not deserve a beat-by-beat takedown of each wretched moment. Now? No, it deserves a breakdown and takedown of each wretched second. This show was BEYOND terrible and you made it -- at the very least -- so bad it's funny. Thanks Disparu!
- The masks were stolen from The Purge series (2?) - The rabbit scene appears to be stolen from some Donnie Darko/Harvey/Willy's Wonderland alternative reality - The dancing scene was stolen from Tropic Thunder - The poncho's were stolen from Bruce Willis in Unbreakable - The terrible tower block concept was stolen from The Raid - The bow was stolen from Hawkeye - The flooding idea was stolen from Deliverance - The story was stolen from white people Such talent.
Good point about the show 100% agree! About Vlad the Impaler he is a national hero. Please educate yourself more about his history and the Romanian strugle against the Otoman Empire. He was definately the good guy, nothing strange in those times.
quick question: Can't Prince just call the city and request the water and electricity be shut off? I'd imagine if he owns the buildings, and he has people basically squatting on the property, then he could pull those two major resources and make them at least very uncomfortable.
Who knows? Purportedly the show takes place in Canada, but it's a Canada that does NOT exist in terms of law, policing, administration, and governance.
24:55 Vlad the Impaler was a good guy. He was a duke / prince in control of a small area, fighting against an almost insurmountable foe in the Ottoman Empire. He was the defender of Christiandom, betrayed and foresaken by all other Christian nations. Abandoned. And finally, he was stabbed in the back and imprisoned by people promising him aid -- the Hungarians. The same people who were supposed to be allies, on his side against the encrouching Ottomans. He employed terrible methods because there was no other way to defend his homeland. No wonder he inspired the legends.
15:35 Isn't one of the oldest and easiest ways to defeat and enemy that is barricaded in a caastle or bulding is to just wait them out? because they have a limited supply of food/water and stuff. Why the funk does Robin and crew think there's any way they can win permanently?
I just can't get over gun guy of the sheriff department always having his hand on his gun and then having it out and ready while on his mission to stop Robyn's mom. But then not using it despite being given so many chances. He could have shot her upon entering and just blamed the Hood as he wouldn't have even been visible on the stream yet. Or shot the laptop then her. Or shot Robyn after she shot him, Or after he beat her up. Sure he'd have been on camera at the time but with the arrow wound he could argue self defense. You can't have him constantly holding his gun and swinging it around and then have him actually be very reserved about using it. Is he eager to use his gun again or not?
I blame Trudeau for this show, and as a Canadian, I think that he should apologise.
Uh just shut off the electric and water and wait for them to all come out. It’s as easy as that. They don’t own the property.
"Robyn couldn't plan a pregnancy!"
Dude...gold. 100% pure comedic gold. 👏🥲
Thanks this is over.
Hmm. The tower's civilian population is racially diverse, but the criminal hood gang is 100% black. I love when people accidentally tell on themselves.
Most people don't notice when someone tells on themselves. The Completionist told on himself and barely anyone noticed.
“We scratched up the ceiling. We thought mom was going to be mad, but she just said “That’s okay, we’re renters “.
Robyn: we’re going to barricade ourselves in to keep them from evicting us from our tower block.
A sane law enforcement officer: cut the water and power they’ll abandon the building in three days.
And prevent wifi, stop mail delivery and don't let anyone back in
Kind of telling that nobody raises any objections about having to leave the building to get to anything crazy like a job.
"... start nailing doors shut."
That worked so well for the Chinese authorities and the people barricaded in their flats without supplies.
If you’ve ever been in Section 8 housing, you’ll realize they don’t need running water to use the bathroom. Every project staircase smells like a urinal.
Three days? More like three hours.

Well, he is a master of reinforcing racist stereotypes while thinking it's good.

Yeah
Rofl
And thanks to Robyn and her literal gang, all the people who took that offer in hopes of improving their lot are now screwed. They probably packed their stuff and arranged for moving accommodations for somewhere to live during the construction, and now that's just money down the drain. Sure, they can go back to their vertical ghetto, but I'm sure they're _thrilled_ with how things turned out. And that's assuming they didn't break their leases contingent upon the promise of newer and better housing that _can't_ be on the table anymore and are now literally homeless. Something something crabs in buckets.
@@draketheduelist the lease breaking would not be a problem, since it is the new owner they made the deal with.
@@Quandry1 What about the lease with the old property owner? We know Prince didn't own the Sherwood building before or he wouldn't have had to buy it. I wonder how crazy it makes Director X that people get more excited for reviews of "Robyn Hood" than actually watch the show.
I doubt he believes that to be true. If society functioned as it should, Director X and people like him would be given the help they need, because they’re clearly a bit too far removed from reality for it to be healthy.

More people watch Disparu’s videos then this garbage series 😂
This happens all the time in modern writing, when the writers finally realise that their villains are more sympathetic than the heroes, they have them commit senseless atrocities that don't even benefit them or their plans.
The only thing missing from this show is the residents of Sherwood and Forest to set their own houses on fire while chanting "We matter!"
That needs to happen S2
And they need someone "heroic" to say "I see you," in the most self-satisfied congratulatory way.
I'd have to Monty Python all over it,"Look you've burned your own houses down you stupid b@$+@rds!" 😂
_the residents of Sherwood and Forest to set their own houses on fire_
If they're renting, then the homes aren't really theirs, they're owned by someone else. The city, if the buildings are public facilities.
And a bunch of leftist media shills refer to the explosion of violence, lawlessness and arson as a "Mostly peaceful protest."
So...she's broadcasting online a political statement that she will not comply with a court order to vacate, and will use violence in support of that political aim...this is beyond criminal, at this point it's counting down the hours until JTF2 arrives and solves this problem for them.
and somehow doing it after the police supposedly jammed the signals... which the hacker wouldn't have been able to stop.
exactly what i was thinking if this is Trudeau's Canada the next wave would straight up be the Canadian Armed Forces in full riot gear or he would get the list of residents then freeze any and all assets they have from bank accounts to running water while law enforcement sets up a comfortable perimeter around the building id give these characters a week before they resort to infighting or give up entirely cannibalism isnt off the table for them either lmao

@drakethedeulist it would totally be on-brand to reinforce negative black stereotypes in that fashion for the show.
Season 2 predictions: Lionheart is the father to either Robyn or Jill, and Guy Gisbane is the father of the other. It would explain why the tower thinks Robyn's mother is some sort of community leader.
Season 2 predictions: Lionheart is gay for Little John and fights his way out of hell to rekindle their love.
Woah, woah, woah. That makes too much sense. Never gonna happen.

Director X should write you a letter of thanks, because you're probably the only person watching his show.
And AZ!! His finale review is in my top 3 yt videos of 2023. Pristine...
Hey, that's not fair. Doctors offices and white owned businesses are probably forced to have it on for diversity reasons.
My guess is that the "hood" learned about property development from playing Monopoly and are worried Prince will get a complete set of one colour.

Especially Boardwalk and Park Place.
That's really overestimating their ability.
They ate the monopoly pieces.
I love how the supposed villain has already won without doing anything illegal while the heros have committed all kind of crimes. But the writers realized that so they make the bad guy pull out of nowhere the most stupid, nonsensical and evil plan of all.

I theorize that they changed this last episode based on all the reviews they were getting from the previous episodes, all pointing out how the sheriff and John Prince were the actual good guys, and Robyn and crew are the bad guys. Their victim mentality stories were not working, so they had to force in some evil from out of now where.
Although I'm skeptical as to whether they'd have had the time to do that, I wouldn't find it surprising.
THIS 👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽👆🏽💯👊🏽 (the original commenter)
Director X outdone himself, not only he used beloved "tell don't show" to reveal plot but he did it in the final episode

Yes, but only for Black people and the homeless.
_Does Canada really work under GTA-series_
The Canada depicted in the show does NOT exist.

Also... I really hope that there is a "making of" as well. This is pure entertainment!!
"Robyn couldn't plan a pregnancy let alone a crime" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
No but see... They're evil... That's why they don't use their guns.
Or John Wayne Gacie.
Hey, a lot of tower blocks have two stair cases, give them some credit it's probably an elevator and TWO stair cases
Let's be real... Sherwood and Forest doesn't have two staircases.
It has one staircase and one vertical crack den.
Should I be concerned the cookie har that had a re-up in the first episode was rather empty by the time it broke?
I hope the finale ends with all the Hood getting life in prison
*Morgan Freeman* "Sadly for those wanting the criminals to pay for their crimes; the contrivances stacked up and they somehow got free."
But these apartments are NOT a rat's cage. They are oversized once luxury apartments that appear to be in good shape
This series of Disparu reviews was simply epic. Thank you DirectX! Please continue creating for Disparu. This is symbiosis at its finest.
But it folds!
I guess they didn't think of that instead, they wanted to focus on it folding.
Because apparently that's all the rage. Folding blades, folding bows
8:34 To be fair, you can defenestrate someone pretty far if you have a tall building.
You've given this show more exposure than I would have ever seen. That said, your series has been very entertaining.
- The masks were stolen from The Purge series (2?)
- The rabbit scene appears to be stolen from some Donnie Darko/Harvey/Willy's Wonderland alternative reality
- The dancing scene was stolen from Tropic Thunder
- The poncho's were stolen from Bruce Willis in Unbreakable
- The terrible tower block concept was stolen from The Raid
- The bow was stolen from Hawkeye
- The flooding idea was stolen from Deliverance
- The story was stolen from white people
Such talent.
The fentanyl gods have blessed us this day. Thank you Lionheart

"That's like making a movie about Vlad the impaler and making him the good guy."
*Dracula Untold(2014 shifts awkwardly*
I hope Republic Of Canada will sponsor season 2. This is priceless.
