WoW! I luv ya so much for all the knowledge that you have and that you so generously transfer to us. I was looking for lenses for my Z6 and wasn’t buying because of prices … Thank you so so much ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for a great video, Richard and perfect timing. I just got a new camera and a 35mm(Rokinon) f/1.4 lens. I was just going to search your videos to see how you shot with 35mm and you just posted this.
Not only a good review but also the idea of creating interesting foreground subject. I will try this idea one day while Milky Way does not exist this summer.
Another great video! Thank you. I've ummed and rrrd for so long, it was driving me nuts trying to figure out what lens combo to get. If anyone's interested, and uses a high MP such as z7 or anything approaching 50mp, I've finally settled on TWO lenses only for when I have energy to hike it a bit: 20mm 1.8, and 50mm 1.4 (or 1.8 etc). With the z7 you can crop nicely in DX mode to a not too shappy 20mp approx. Easily enough for most uses. So, I was very happy to find I have 4 lens lenghts at my disposal: 20mm, 30mm (dx), 50mm, 75mm (dx) - I'm pretty chuffed I can keep it light as I need to hike a bit to get to locations where I am. I'll test this twin combo over next season. The difference between 20mm and 30mm is actually nicely different, and 'almost' 35mm.
Thanks Richard seen a few reviews on Viltrox lenses now.All seem to give good reviews,So i think I’m going purchase one for my Sony full frame. As you say price unbelievable .but would also like to get camera Astro Modified.Big Decision to make
Great review. I love the tidbits of other info I pick up when watching. I didn't know that the Nikon mirrorless cameras automatically focused to infinity when powered on. Just another reason I need to upgrade.
Ah good old Rodney Copperbottom!! I might just go and get one of these lenses...I've been thinking for a while now about geeting a 35mm, have been thinking about the Sigma art...but you may swayed me!!
Yes I love Rodney ..!! The 35mm Sigma is one of their older designs and not as good as the more modern 28mm or 40mm Sigma lenses. This lens would go well on the A73 I reckon.
Hi Richard, nice review, as always Fantastic photos.👋👋👋 I already have the Nikon Z 35mm and the Z 50mm, the rain and the clouds haven't been giving clear nights for photos, as soon as I take photos I'll send them to you for criticism. Good weekend, Tks.
Hi Richard, thanks for another great video. I too would agree that Viltrox offer very good quality for the money, I have a 24mm one. Loved the photos you showed. Particularly those with Orion in the background, it was great to see the colours, Rigel blue, Sirus white and Betelgeuse orange! The shot with the windmill, was that a modified Z6? The nebulosity was terrific.
Thanks for sharing Richard. Have you tried the Nikon Z 40mm f/2 lens? Although it is not quite apples to apples, it would be interesting to see how it stacked up.
Good review with awesome images, but you didn't shoot at f1.8, how are single exposures of this lens at f1.8. Also when are you reviewing viltrox 20 mm 1.8 lens for nikon z. Thanks.
That's a really good point. I did shoot some images previously at f1.8 which were not included in this video. A lot more vignetting but pretty much equivalent to the Nikon 35mm wide open in other characteristics. I haven't used the Viltrox 20mm .. maybe one day.
A very good comparison from in the field which is the best. With the Viltrox having a manual aperture ring, would that allow you to shoot timelapse in a slightly closed down aperture where as the Nikkor goes to wide open in 'P'rogram mode?
Thanks as always for watching Les. Well yes you could do that . .but that makes it the same as Aperture Priority. So you could do that with the Nikon lens also. In fact when I shoot the Laowa 15mm f2 for timelapse I often use Aperture Priority because it's a manual focus lens. I would like to be able to limit the amount of Aperture when shooting timelapse in P mode with the Nikon f1.8 lenses .. but you can't have it all I guess.
I just picked up a Pergear 35mm f/1.4 full frame manual for my Z6II. It was only $129.00 US, we’ll see how well it preforms. Beautiful capture’s Richard 🙏🏻
Matt has done a initial review of it. I loaned mine out to 2 people across the pond from me to use and review. Then when I get it back I will know a lot of its short comings and it’s positives. But I can say it is a sturdy well built lens, all metal construction. A unique lens hood. I don’t expect miracles from a lens that was $129.00 US but if it preforms decent enough I haven’t gone wrong.
Wow those 2 minute iso 800 tracked images look so clean, can't really tell on youtube if they're better than those you previously/usually take at 1 minute iso 1600 but at a guess I'd say they'd have to be depending on whether the camera is iso invariant and from/to what iso. The little one loves the camera mate, future in modelling or even photography maybe? Is she your granddaughter, I have 5 grannys of 3 boys and 2 girls that melt my heart especially when they visit their great grandmother my 87 yr old mum
I can’t believe nobody has commented on how adorable the little girl is. I have a niece that looks to be about her age (7 or so) and she is a total ham In front of a camera, 😂
Most of the time I'm shooting between 4500k - 5200k. Some of these were taken with my h-alpha modified camera which completely changes the color. . so I shoot that at 3300k.
Hi Richard. I'm a Canon shooter, so I'm wondering, in your experience, do these thrid-party lenses varry much from one mount to another? In other words, can I expect the review you did to apply if I were to get the Canon R mount version of the lens? Thanks!
Hi. I just bought a Nikon Z5 and a Viltrox 35mm, and in my case, mounting the lens is quite difficult; I have to use some force. Did anyone else experience this? Is this some kind of defect, or is the mount supposed to get easier over time? I used to have a Canon, and I never had these issues.
@@nightscapeimages.richard I am in France, I use the Z6 II, and I have just started in night photography, I particularly appreciate the content of your youtube channel
Another great video Richard, as always some great captures as well :)
Thanks heaps for watching Alan
Another great video, clear skies.
Thanks as always for watching Gavin.

Such great results for 'only' a test shoot. Pretty impressive!
Thanks so much for watching my friend.

Yes there is always something of interest to shoot at any time of year my friend. Thanks again for watching.
Thanks Richard looks like a great little lens
Yes I think it is very good. Appreciate you watching.

Good review Richard, as always interesting. Ordered a star adventure 2ii, thanks for the advice
Good on you Phillip. I'll be doing more videos about the star adventurer soon.

Ричард , обзор на объективы мне очень ❤ понравился 😊! Да и фото классные !

Thanks a lot Todd. No I have not tried that lens at this stage.
Hey Richard, fantastic images as usual! I do like my 35mm for my canon, one of my favourites.
Is the little girl your granddaughter? She's a cutie
Yes that's one of my grand daughters Suzie . .she's a bundle of energy ...!!!

Hi Richard,
The tree with Orion.
Was it taken by Astro Mod camera for the sky?
Yes that image was taken with the h-alpha mod Z6
My wallet is alway happy when I find products that perform like there expensive cousins. Your test shoot shots are amazing as always Richard
Thanks heaps Brett. A few of your favourite spots in there as well.
@@nightscapeimages.richard Yes I noticed a few old favorites :)

Nice video, I have nikon 24-70 kit lens f4, can it use for milky way photography? . I don't have money to spend for extra lens
Thanks for watching. Yes you can use the Nikon Z 24-70 f4. See this video. ruclips.net/video/dllp7BBvmPg/видео.html

Thanks for watching Gordon. Unfortunately Viltrox don't make lenses for the Canon RF mount . .in fact I don't think Canon want anyone else to do so.
What are your thoughts on the Tamron 35mm F1.4?
I've never shot with that lens Mark, but I know a few people that own it and absolutely love it.
I had the Nikkor 35 on my wish list but plumped for the nifty fifty instead, the Viltrox looks a bargain though.
Yes the Nikon 50mm is a fantastic lens Carl. Maybe you could squeeze the Viltrox 35 in some day.

I did notice the Viltrox lenses are tighter than the genuine one's .. but I haven't had any issues with them at all.
that s outstanding vlog, would you like a promo?.
I'm not sure what you mean
thank you for the test video of these lenses, very interesting
