By the fourth movie, they were mid-budget films barely breaking even on after-marketing box office. People have these positive memories of the people acting in these films, but the films themselves plummeted in quality and box office after the Donner Superman. To this day, even adjusted for inflation, Batman v Superman and Man of Steel are the most profitable Superman films in history, followed by Donner Superman.
James’ cinema memory is also one of my first cinema memories, I was there in the audience at the time. Now, he’s actually misremembering, as what he actually did was stand up and shout “Blue Harvest”! Which at the time I didn’t understand but now realise that of course that was the working title for the original Star Wars.

They did do Bizarro but it was a weird Frankenstein's Monster looking thing. It was Luthor's first creation before he made Nuclear Man. The whole subplot was removed. You can find some of those deleted scenes.

Watching this series makes me appreciate Superman Returns a little more. Brandon Routh was a perfect casting to play Christopher Reeves' Superman.
