actually BBS gave the international release MF(Young Xehanort). since they did that, it was only natural that they would give final mix to them for that. KH2 was originally going to have boss battles with the CoM Org members, but it had to be dummied out. Chain of memories itself was a rarely played game, so most of the players didn't know what really happened. Re:CoM was made to catter to those fans, as well as give a gameplay engine for the data boses in KH2 at the same time. 2 birds 1 stone.
@DanielDaBandgeek95 Around 0:20 I hear the organs (I think it's organs) that play during the BBS version of "Fragments of Sorrow." And the melody itself slightly resembles "A Fight to the Death."

The BBS FM version has a secret boss (Master Eraqus Armor) and the part where Aqua is in Realm of Darkness is playable, with a new final boss (Red Eyes). My version (Spanish) only has Vanitas Reminiscence and Young Xehanort as secret bosses. Why not did an international version with all bonus from the beginning? About KH2, i played the European version and Final Mix version, really are different games, It's not fair that just because you do not live in Japan you can not play this version.
@TheHikariOne Well, if you must know, it's not Square Enix. Sony has a policy that doesn't really approve of re-releases, unless they have a certain number of content added. Apparently, it must be a LOT, because not even KH 2: FM+ fit the bill.
well what can I say. they probably wanted to do most of the FM stuff from the begining, but didn't have to time to implement them all. and by the time they would want to rerelease them, the games wouldn't sell well. its like getting a game of the year addition with all the dlc and characters unlocked. if they released the FM already, not only would it make the original useless,(like MvC3) but would kill sells if they always rereleased 2 games.
If u are right, why Nomura did a FM version for KH2 if the KH2 international version haven't got any bonus or secret places? The same question can be asked for BBS or Chain of Memories. And why KH 3D isn't translated into Spanish or Italian?

FM is kinda like compensation for japan. he's release it here, but sony fears rereleases soon after teh orignal are a waste of money because hardly anyone buys them so soon

This could have been EASILY used with the Red-Eye battle. It just fits night of dark dream better I suppose.
