If we treat this like an Overwatch match where you the MC hero (Deku) takes the Tank out in 1 shot when he could never do this before. The reason it worked this time, was cuz' the tank was not at full HP, because of tremor. So maybe he was at 75% or 50% HP after Tremor strained his Muscles.
The soft spoken "Detroit Smash" was what did it for me. Everytime prior it was like he was going all out with no control, but here, it's his normal power output and nothing special to him!
This was a good way to measure Deku's improvement over the year. Back when they first fought, that battle nearly crippled him. Now he's returned from worse injuries still functional, and first fight he has Muscular went beyond smoothly. It also goes to show how powerful Shindo is. Quake is an incredibly strong quirk, but Muscular is an experienced villain. That a newcomer managed to incapacitate him to this degree, well he's a good measuring stick.
@@anthonyortiz350 Shindo is a guy with a Vibrate quirk, which I mistakenly called "Quake". He is the one who went full throttle against Muscular before Deku arrived and it was because of his quirk that Muscular's muscle fibers broke up, giving Deku an opening he needed to beat him.
On one hand, I get why they used a previous villain to show Deku's current level compared to his past. But on the other hand, I kind of wished they didn't reuse Muscular because of how epic the past scene between them was. Should've been a one-off confrontation and maybe leave Muscular for one of the weaker heroes to showcase.

@@saynotop2w that’s the thing about Villains, they’re actually worse than Nomu cause Nomu act solely on orders. Villains with wreak havoc anywhere anytime they please. On average you’d be dealing with a villain before a Nomu, high-end for that matter.
From needing to use the 100% to beat muscular to use less than half and just one punch, Deku has grown up and is way stronger than before and made muscular look like a joke
@@nicoandersen4231 im guessing he wasn't actually using "100%" the 1st time, as he would probably sub consciously stop himself to avoid decimating his arms, but when he used one million percent he actually used his 100% because he no longer had that limit since he didn't have to worry about fighting afterwards or something (its been a while since I've seen that so i cant remember it too well, but this is just my guess if it makes any sense to you)

i think by full power he means that he is using as much as he can without completely destroying is limbs but idk since some of the comments say he will continue to grow and it should mean that he will be able to use more of his power
I wish there was more of a callback to their first fight with Midoriya acknowledging how Muscular truly gave him the fight of his life and made him think he was gonna die, but now he’s much stronger.
The first encounter with Muscular pushed Deku to the brink of death and his arms got on critical condition after that, now with the rematch and experience Deku has greatly overcome what was one of his nemesis, power without real porpoise
For me the cool part isn't that he totally overwhelmed muscular, it's how he did it. Deku promised kacchan he would make the OFA his own. Instead you can see all of the struggles, support and techniques of everyone from class 1-A in Dekus version of the Detroit smash. Unlike the other users Dekus version of the OFA is one that belongs to everybody and when he hits you it's not just with his own power or even the collective power from the previous users, it's power from everyone who Izuku loves and who love him. Deku didn't make it this far on his own and it shows.
I think the speed Deku can pull off also played an important part in this fight. Not only is he able to keep pace with Muscular now, but moving at him with 30-45% OFA speed adds some extra oomph to the hit.
this was a great moment - really showed how much stronger and more collected he'd gotten, especially the calm "detroit smash." instead of screaming like he used to. muscular was literally a monster when they fought before and it took everything midoriya had in him - he was fighting for his life. then he literally one-shots him

It's not that deku is stronger, is that he fought smarter this time and analyzed his opponent and used the right move in order to beat him. That's the best part about him, being more intelligent with his attacks. Muscular didn't and got him knocked out.

I'm not really a shounen fan anymore (just so much other things too watch), but it never surprises me when the MC just gets stronger and stronger. I undestand it but after 200 completed shows it's like, meh nice power up. xp More power to the younger fans though.
A main character getting a power up/getting stronger isn’t necessarily related to shonen though, it’s a rather universal concept in a lot of stories,but I sorta get where your coming from.
It doesn't have to be about age to appreciate like it's surprising. lol It's a matter of investment of story or character to follow on their journey there.
I mean this outcome makes sense, part of the reason deku struggled against muscular was because he was stuck at only using OFA at 5% and had to use it continuously at 100% to win, which was also weaker because his bones were breaking as he was using it. He also did spend the entire original fight trying to protect someone, which limited his options with what little power he actually had. And currently he's faster and stronger with just the power stacking being able to use 15% or higher for his normal movement, and go as high as 45% continuously for his attacks, which is already crazy powerful on it's own, and has Blackwhip and float, which give him an insane advantage over someone like Muscular. And he's already even stronger after fighting Lady Nagant. What I saying is that Muscular was finished the moment Deku got there.
