Hello! I watched a few of your Videos and thats why i want you to ask, if this Bike would be a good Starter Bike? I start with my Driving licens next Month in Germany and i found one for around 10k. Its from 2009 and has only around 18k miles on it. I have the option to get it throttled down to 45hp. Would you recomment it? Thanks for your time. You are a Crazy Driver :D Iam lucky to life in Germany and have the Autobahn. But i dont think i would be able as beginner to handle that speed.
I started on a 2009 r6 last March, still have it. I bought it with 17,600miles and currently has 26k miles. I grew up riding 4wheelers & dirt bikes so I had some experience riding before my first sport bike. I think it makes a great starter bike as long as you’re aware of the power and aren’t an idiot on the bike. Respect the bike and know your limits. I highly recommend you take a motorcycle course and use their practice bike because the r6 isn’t meant for slow speeds and tight turns. Then once you have a good feel for the r6 book a track day with an instructor. I recently had my first track day and it was so much fun. I plan on doing more track days and I actually a guy with a bike just like mine, same year and graphics but with race spec suspension, break lines, bolts, everything, etc. and with only 4100miles and has only been used on the track so I’m going to save up for it and swap a few parts from my bike to the new bike and sell my current bike.
