  • Swapping a 37” long v10 into what feels like a shoebox is just as difficult as it sounds. Regardless, I’m making good progress and getting over the “death by a thousand custom pieces”. In this video, I discuss what’s been going on behind the scenes and what 2024 is looking like for the projects.

    I’m one of those that does enjoy seeing the work, tedious or otherwise. Sometimes it gives me ideas of things to try on other projects. Highly interested to see this project unfold.

    My Son is Mullet Break motorsports on utube. He has a 71 Satellite with a 440 and a 82 crew cab with a 12 valve he's in the process of building. But the coolest project is a rust free 78 RamCharger he plans on putting it on a Crownvic frame. I'm so proud of how good of a mechanic he has proven. I credit Johnny from Zip ties and Biasplys also on Utube. Johnny was our nieghbor for 15 years. I had to work away alot and John was is main mentor. Really enjoy your projects keep up the awesome content

      I’ll always be building something. It’s like an itch lol. This may be my only v10 build though. Wouldn’t mind playing with some hemi stuff

    I'm in a similar situation with mine 😆 It's not easy. I'm putting my viper V10 into an 87' Dakota. You're further along than I am. Nice work thus far!

      Thank you! It’s a long road for sure. Just getting the engine back in the car for the “final” time will be a huge weight off my shoulders.

    Is the Viper V10 a cast iron or aluminum block?
    I can't remember, it's been to long. Lol...

      Aluminum block and heads

      @@kilroy6716 Oh wow. Well that should weigh about like an iron small block right?

      @@ericwilson2585 I don't believe it would be that light for a good comparison, but I can't rule it out. My engine is still at the machine shop. Haven't scaled everything out yet. Maybe someone will chime in with a solid answer

    • @sorta_stock
      @sorta_stock  6 месяцев назад +2

      🫣Believe it or not, it actually weighs the same as a full iron 383. There’s a lot of aluminum there.

      @@kilroy6716 Cool, thank you Sir. I've had the thought of that car build of yours rolling around in my head from time to time, and its great to see your back on it again. Looking forward to seeing more.

    That oil pan looks like it'll hold maybe 1qrt of oil, enuff get ya out the driveway 😂

    • @sorta_stock
      @sorta_stock  6 месяцев назад +1

      lol the video doesn’t do it justice. The pan is now equal to a gen 2 oil capacity (8qts). Use to be a 10 qt pan

    • @arturozarate1752
      @arturozarate1752 2 месяца назад

      I was wondering how much capacity was decreased. They are big pans. Was it ever an option to use one from the truck?
