I don’t think you guys understand why people pre-wash their fabrics. I’m not gonna spend hours and hours and hours putting a quilt together, and then find out that the fabric the darker fabrics are going to bleed into the lighter fabrics Has absolutely nothing to do with the crinkled look, you’re going to wash a quilt before you give it to somebody Color catchers don’t work as well as other products .
@kevmrth yes that’s true but don’t you wanna know ahead of time it’s going to end up looking like after it’s washed? I know it’s a pain but with dark colors I’m starting to use Retayne. I might do an experiment where I purposely do not wash a red fabric. I’ll make something red and white and then I will use Synthrapol to see if it really removes the bleed from the white fabric. However, when you give the quilt to somebody or table runner, are you also going to provide them with a bottle of Synthrapol ?.. 😀😉
