I'm Catholic, and I don't remember any teaching that asserts The Pope as a "savior," or with the authority to "forgive sins by his own person," or the other exaltations the letter you read accuses Catholic catechism of claiming. Yes, we revere Our Lady and believe in the Immaculate Conception, and that is a significant difference in the faith of Catholicism and many Protestant denominations. I love all my brothers and sisters in Christ, and despite our differences, I wouldn't assert their faith system as "counterfeit" or proclaim their souls to be condemned. "Us vs. them" seems such small thinking to me.
I talked to a Catholic guy the other day and mentioned Paul's letter to the Church of Rome. He came back and said, that letter was not to the church, it just to people in hiding and in jail. That is where the problem is with Catholicism. The full church is not the hierarchal structure that they built. The Church of Rome was built in the image of the Roman Empire, overstretching its mandate, sometimes for the better and sometimes for the worse. The true early church was those who were followers of Christ, spread sporadically around Europe and Asia, the Middle East and Africa. The Church of Rome was and is a part of a larger family. This guy beating up the Catholic Church over the immaculate conception, on the other hand, is nothing more than creating divisions in our faith against a God loving, trinity acknowledging, local church with great expansionist aspirations. It does not matter if the believe Mary did not have original sin. Maybe they are wrong. Maybe Protestants are wrong on transubstantiation. Wouldn't that be amazing if we were actually eating the body and drinking the blood of Jesus during communion, with God looking upon us as his children with compassionate understanding of our helpless situation in this sinful world, without Him that is.

The Catholic Church is the true church established by Jesus Christ, then entrusted to St. Peter. It is the oldest extant institution in human history. The Bible is a gift you have the Catholic Church to thank for. You’re working quite hard against the God you claim to love and serve.
The ONLY Bible the Catholic church gave to the world was a corrupted bible. GOD gave to the world a PURE Bible uncorrupted by pagan philosophy. GOD gave me my Bible. I have NOTHING to thank the Catholic church for.
Do you have to descend to sarcasm to defend your position? Your attitude is the same as 99% of the Catholics who comment on this channel. The 1611 King James Bible is the Word of the Living God, not the Catholic Bibles, which are Bibles mascarading as the word of God, but actually the word of the Popes. The word of the Popes is as different from the word of God as night is different from day.
@@JewelsofTruth it was a serious question! Why do you think that the 1611 KJV is somehow special and by what kind of authority did its final composition receive ratification? The book you’re talking about is a translation, after all. So unless you think God re-breathed his words into the minds of the KJV translators, it cannot be more than 2nd-order. All translation is interpretation (unavoidable). And on top of that, you’ve got to explain why you think that the dueterocanonicals are rightly ejected. Who’s authority?
Catholic church failed the Reformation, an attempt to clean out idolatry, superstition, the corruption of the gospels, and separation of the brethren, the believers in Christ's grace and redemption by counterfeiting the works and hideous persecution of those following the scriptures to preserve power, grift of national treasures, and the creation of their abomination of infallible and buying indulgences and Mary worship. Amazing how many people are still ignorant of true Catholic teachings. So many lies and so much misinformation being spread - including this ignorant man who clearly didn’t learn what the church believes growing up. Without a pope you are left with everyone being their own pope. This means 30,000+ independent churches…clearly not the unity that Christ wanted. We must have an authority. Some other good posts defending the papacy, go read them if you dare. “And behold, one came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do, to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”” Matthew 19:16-19 RSV Obviously what we do has an effect on our salvation. The Catholic belief is that we are initially saved by faith, but it isn’t just an intellectual belief - for even the demons believe and shudder. No, it is a faith that works through love (Galatians 5:6), where we are transformed into the likeness of Christ. We can lose our salvation by intentionally breaking the commandments - exactly what Jesus said in Matthew 19:16. That is why we must repent and be reconciled to God. We cannot earn our way to heaven, we are not saved by works themselves…but rather by faith working through love - an active and vibrant faith where we put on Christ.
If you need a Pope, then HE is your god-- NOT Jesus Christ. I never said that we don't have to keep the Ten Commandments. And if you TRULY believe in keeping the Ten Commandments, then you will keep the SEVENTH day Holy, NOT the first day.

Thank you, sir. I've been saying the same thing. If I have to believe in the pope, eucharist as presented by rcc, purgatory, indulgences, Mary as co redemtrix and Co redeemer, the treasury of merit, etc.... all these additions take away from what Christ has done for us. If someone believes all that the roman church affirms them to that's a different Christ, another gospel.
That’s not scripture. Here is the actual scripture: “What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? Can his faith save him? and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what does it profit? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. But some one will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I by my works will show you my faith. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder. Do you want to be shown, you shallow man, that faith apart from works is barren? Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he offered his son Isaac upon the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by works, and the scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness”; and he was called the friend of God. You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.” James 2:14-24 RSV
And how do you reconcile that with this scripture? “And behold, one came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do, to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”” Matthew 19:16-19 RSV Obviously what we do has an effect on our salvation.

@@JewelsofTruth so you personally decided which books to include in your Bible? Or did the book descend from heaven into your lap?

If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””

Obviously what we do has an effect on our salvation. The Catholic belief is that we are initially saved by faith, but it isn’t just an intellectual belief - for even the demons believe and shudder.

Where’s your evidence from scripture? Oh, that’s right, you don’t have any‼️
BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS AND YOU WILL BE SAVED FOREVER WITHOUT WORKS OR BAPTISM JESUS IS MY SABBATH I REST IN HIM EVERYDAY
That’s not scripture. Here is the actual scripture:
“What does it profit, my brethren, if a man says he has faith but has not works? You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.”
James 2:14-24 RSV
And how do you reconcile that with this scripture?
“And behold, one came up to him, saying, “Teacher, what good deed must I do, to have eternal life?” And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? One there is who is good. If you would enter life, keep the commandments.” He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother, and, You shall love your neighbor as yourself.””

Orthodox eastern and Ethiopian Greek orthodox I’ll have the true faith after all they believe in the body, blood soul and divinity the true presence of the Eucharist. Do you have no clue and I pray one day maybe you do
Your all mixed up, Paul is the minister to the gentile's, not Peter, acts 9-15, so catholics are following the wrong apostle.
@@sean4922 - PROMINENCE OF PETER:
Jesus Christ gave Peter the keys 🔑 (authority) over the other apostles.
The Synoptic Gospels agree that Peter served as spokesman, the outstanding member of the group, and enjoyed a certain precedence over the other disciples. For example: - whenever the disciples not belonging to the immediate followers of Jesus also recognized the authority of Peter (Mt 17:24);
- Sought clarification from Jesus on behalf of the disciples (Mt 15:15);
- Peter is mentioned by name, while others are indicated as merely accompanying him (Mk 1:36; Luke 8:35);
- Even when the three disciples closest to Jesus, (“the pillars” - Peter, James and John) figure in a particular incident, it is frequently Peter alone who is named when the three are named, Peter’s name appears first (Mt 17:1, 26:37);
- Peter was charged by Jesus affecting the strengthening of others (Luke 22:31,32);
- The fact that Peter is emphasized in John and charged by Jesus to “tend my sheep” and “feed my lambs” at the same time The role of the disciples as a whole, is being de-emphasized attests to the prestige of Peter in the apostolic church (John 21:15,16).
IT WAS PETER WHO:
- Confessed the Sonship of Jesus (Mt 16:16);
- was commissioned to lend strength to his brothers ((Luke 22:32);
- on the morning of the resurrection, ran to the tomb, that the resurrected Christ first appeared (Luke 24:12);
- whose priority as a witness to the resurrection, is found in the letters of Paul (1 Cor 15:5);
- presided over the appointment of Matthias as an apostle (Acts 1:23-26);
- first, raised his voice and preached at Pentecost the day, when the church came into being (Acts 1:14-39);
- exercise the role of judge in the disciplining of those who erred within the church (Acts 5:1-10);
- Let the 12 apostles in extending the church “here and there among them all” ((Acts 9:32);
- walked on water towards Jesus (Mt 14:28-33);
- witnessed, and spoke at the transfiguration of Jesus (Mt 17:1-8 & 2 Peter 1:16-18);
- at the garden of Gethsemane (Mt:26-37).
JESUS SAID TO PETER:
1. Blessed are you, Simon, son of Jonah (Mt 16:17-19);
2. for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Heavenly Father
3. and so, I say to you, you are Peter
4. and upon this rock, I will build my church;
5. and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it;
6. I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven;
7. whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven;
8. Tend my sheep, and feed my lambs (John 21:15 & 16).
I've got news for you. The gates of hell DID prevail against Peter when he denied his Lord, and when he cut off the ear of that man who was among the mob who came to arrest Jesus and when he acted the part of a hypocrite between the Jews and the Gentiles and Paul had to rebuke him in front of the Gentiles. All this nonsense and heresy about Peter is just an effort to place man where GOD aught to be.
