15 years later and I still break down crying, idk what it is but there's just something about specifically Jiraiya that hurts more than any other death in fiction..... Failed to save his best friend, didn't get the girl, failed to save his students life, failed to save another student who eventually came back to haunt him and even killed him. Despite all this he always stayed positive, was incredibly strong and well respected and in the end, he was the one who trained 2 of the hidden leafs strongest Hokages! His life was tragic and bittersweet, but equally impressive and legendary.

Y’all I just know if he was still alive he would have taken the father role in narutos wedding instead of iruka sensei
Iruka the only one who can take that role
no iruka would hundred percent still take the role because he was the first person to really look at him and help him. the third hokage did basically nothing for naruto and as an authority figure iruka is the first person to play that role for naruto. jiraiya is his sensei and means the world to him yes, but iruka was the first to acknowledge and really have confidence in naruto
Nah I don't think so. Naruto would've been a Rogue Ninja if Iruka never talked about respecting him when Naruto stole the scroll in the first episode. Meaning he would've never gotten trained by Jiraiya. Iruka is more of a parent to Naruto than anyone on that show. Jiraiya is obviously 2nd
