    Ranni has a track record of needing garuntees before acting, she was most likely looking for alternatives to facing radahn because not long before she saw that even Malenia and a host of her cleanrot knights couldn't defeat him in direct combat

    The lake of rot one might be related to astel. Maybe he was on his way to guard it but got stuck crossing the lake of rot. Or he is guarding it, but his guard post was set up before the lake happened, which is why it has sunken since then.

    There's a massive glintstone formation in the lake of rot.
    I'm assuming that glintstone arrived as an asteroid long ago and that maybe it also brought the onyx Lord with it when it fell.
    There is also the astel downstream of the lake of rot, maybe he gravity magic'd his way up or fell to the lands between in the same star that astel arrived in

    My personal pitch for the Alabaster Lord we can find in the Lake of Rot:
    It’s also a Warden for the “Original Astel”, only this Warden’s ventured further from Astel’s prison as one must venture past the Lake of Rot in order to access Astel-original Astel, not its dark counterpart.

    These meteorite lords have a strong connection to the divine towers. The summits are encircled by eight meteorites, and the mound in the middle although covered in dust/ash could very well have the type of large meteorite we see in the Sealed Tunnel where we fight the Onyx Lord. It has the same stonework around the edge. The molten rock that partially engulfed the towers might also have some veins of golden meteorite but it's hard to say for sure.

    Ranni's quest ties almost everything together, lore wise. By the time we've put Ranni's ring on her finger, we've ventured through and explored a chunk of nearly every faction, culture, and outer god.
    But Ranni's ending is the Age of Stars, so there is a focus on that which came from the stars all along the path.
    The Alabaster Lord was likely there before the Lake of Rot ever was.

    Hi !Great video I'd like to sharesome extra comments
    1. In the Lands Between you can find 2 masters of gravitational sorceries, the Starcallers and the Sages. The interesting thing is that while the Starcallers seem to collaborate with the Golden Order, the Sages were deemed as Heretical. My explanation to this is that a quite early version of the Golden Order claimed gravitational glinstone as one of their key millitary asssets, allowing the practice in extreme circumstances... like Rykert's Rise.... and only through the Starcallers... given it's massive destructive power... as a consequences, the sages were forsaken.
    2. I always believed that the Alabaster lord at the Lake of Rot was put there to highlight that the grounds of the lake of Rot, aka the Uld palace culture that once lived there, was anihilated by a Alabaster Lord. You can appreciate something similar in the scene with the Alabaster Lord in Limgrave.
    3. Great work finding Radan's teacher!

    The fact that Radahn ended up being a greater beast than his alabaster lord master to the point he can hold back the stars, ride his horse, and fight to a draw against the likes of Malenia is insane. And even with scarlet rot infecting him, he still manages to be so powerful.

    I like to think that one Lord is protecting Astel. So his bro, the other Lord, is just following him bc "hey bro, that place is dangerous", so they came to the Lands searching for him, but didn't find yet. They asked some directions to a guy he find around, Radahn, and he seems a cool guy, really interested in learning and caring for animals, and the Lord is such a nice guy, he couldn't deny some knowledge. That's my head canon. 😂

    It’s possible the Alabaster Lord was in the Lake of rot at the behest of Radahn, similarly to the Lord guarding use of Rykard’s Great rune. Assuming “Star Scourge” had some sway with the Alabaster Lords, there’s a possibility he was there to keep an eye on affairs concerning Malenia. The one thing that really gets me scratching my chin is the Draconian starting preset which is said to have "stone like skin", seems to suggest a connection to Farum Azula and the dragons. Also the ruin sword that was a piece of farum azula with gravity infused in it from the impact of the meteor that wrecked it, possibly the same one Radann stopped using his magic. Then there's the presence of human imagery in Farum Azula that points to humanoids other than the beast men having lived there. Makes me think the Alabaster and Onyx lords either lived in Farum Azula for a while before the arrival of Astel or that instead of being from space they were draconian humans who mastered star magic in an attempt to stop the incoming impact but failed. Either way it opens up a lot of interesting possibilities.

It was likely easier from an assets standpoint to simply use the completed enemy and give it the name they wanted rather than change the Alabaster Lords abilities.

    It is extremely important to keep track of which alabaster or onyx lord appears in each case. The alabaster lords all use gravity that pulls inward, whilst the onyx lords push outward and summon meteors.
    I believe Radahn cut a deal with the alabaster lords in order to fight the onyx lords. The onyx lords may be somehow involved in summoning the falling star beasts. In any case, there was definitely some kind of civil war that split these spacemen in two. The nox are likely involved somehow too given their ties to selia and the carian royal family. I love all the theories of why these lords were in their respective places. I didn't even know there was one in the lake of rot so going to find it soon... but my best guess is that perhaps its trying to stop people reaching astel, but was stuck trying to find the best spot to repel people.
    I recently went through the consecrated snowfield again and found a bunch of school of graven mages by ALBINAURIC RISE and didn't understand their placement. there was also a red wolf closeby so just wondering whats the connection and why these are found there. the wolf could be something with radagons sword being in the cave close by but I am unsure of why it's there. is it protecting or is it the reason why the misbegotten is hiding in the cave?

    The lake of rot is a gateway to Astel right? Might be originally assigned there to guard Astel until the Centepede-rot worshippers took over the area...

    Because of their proportions and appearance, I don't think they came from the stars at all. I think they were created when meteors hit the oddly proportioned denizens of the lands between. That they were nobles forcefully infused with meteoric minds and materials.

    I thought it was the opposite order. I thought the onyx lord was kidnapped and in that jail he met an eager/curious young radahn. Also I think the alabaster lord is guarding Astel natural born of the void. Bc the only way to him is down… idk why he’s ABOVE and not on the path but that’s my thought lol

    • @square-table-gaming
      @square-table-gaming  9 месяцев назад +1

      While it uses the onyx lord weapon the name of the enemy is Alabaster Lord over its health bar. I'm going out on a limb and saying the team wanted this to be an alabaster lord for story reasons, but the onyx lord was the only variation that could use meteor and it was important from a difficulty standpoint that he could use it. It was likely easier from an assets standpoint to simply use the completed enemy and give it the name they wanted rather than change the Alabaster Lords abilities.

    • @GODE-ot9pu
      @GODE-ot9pu 9 месяцев назад

      @@square-table-gaming that’s very valid! I assumed the opposite: that they intended for an onyx lord and the coder just put alabaster not knowing which variant it was because they wouldn’t have seen it haha

    I loved Dragons Dogma 2. But its world isn’t NEARLY as expansive as Elden Ring. I mean this guy is STILL making extensive lore videos. FromSoftware jam packed sooo much content into one game it’s insane. Dragons Dogma’s weakest point was its short story line, lack luster side quests, and reskinned enemies. The gameplay and combat was the main fun point. Not to mention how easy it got after a certain level.

    As you stated, their station seems only in title, not in actual status. Looking at them, I don't think they wanted prestige or power as it would make sense soon as they fell they would have launched a campaign against the inhabitants of the land. If they followed after Astel, their intent had to be to stop it and prevent any other stars from falling and dominating the world/or land. It's hard to know which as everything is focused on this one continent instead of knowing the scale for the world itself.
