Welcome back to Kels and John and to a vlog we're very excited to publish: our first ever staycation as Florida Residents at Disney's Wilderness Lodge!
Last weekend we stayed in a Wilderness Lodge Boulder Ridge 1 Bedroom Villa over the course of 3 nights and documented our full experience! Join us as we share a full tour of our DVC 1 bedroom villa at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, take full advantage of the kitchen cooking up some yummy breakfasts, swim at both the Boulder Ridge and Copper Creek Pools, and dine at both Geyser Point and Whispering Canyon Cafe!
We were very excited to spend a full 24 hours in a Walt Disney World resort the first day and, as you may be able to tell, Disney's Wilderness Lodge totally blew us away! From the food to the service and just general atmosphere/ambience, we have a new favorite Disney resort in Wilderness Lodge!

What a lovely staycation day. Resting by the pool, eating lots of yummy looking food & drinking what more could you want. How kind of family to let you use the points so you could make a fab vlog.
It was perfect - such a lovely weekend! And yes, VERY kind and generous of them to let us use the points! We're very thankful.
The stream you are looking at (8:15) actually starts in the lobby of the resort and ends at the geyser which is between the pool and Bay Lake. It goes off every hour at about 2 minutes till the hour shooting water up 120 feet! There is an entire backstory to the railway tracks at the resort. You used to be able to get a copy of it from the front desk. There is a side room in the lobby of Boulder Ridge Villas that has pieces of Walt's train set that he had in his backyard on Carolwood Drive. That room has great oversized rocking chairs in front of a fireplace too. Such a wonderful resort overall. FYI, the brisket menu item at Geyser Point is AMAZING!
Thank you for the additional info, that's super interesting! Would love to learn more about the railway so will make a note to ask about that next time we get to visit! It is SUCH a beautiful resort - we'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

What a relaxing and fun staycation ..Geyser point is so fun sitting next to the water. The skillets looked amazing. I so miss that resort. You look so relaxed there 🥰

Stayca PlayxPlay - I, like many others, wish Disney+ would offer that resort channel. It would be SO NICE to have it running in the background at home. A little piece of Disney Zen. Yummy looking breakfast. The resort looks very calming and relaxing. very chill. Have you seen the new ear case in person? I can see you using it for all your ears. I'm still figuring out the best way to store mine. A store headband display is my leading idea, at the moment. Good sofa review! Dinner time. Food, glorious food. And the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down. Moving and rearranging life is stressful. I'm glad you had some time to decompress.
That would be so good! I've been known to play it on RUclips on days I'm just pottering around at home! I HAVE seen the new ear case! It looks so nice! I have a little section in my closet for the ears I have but I can also see myself investing in one of those carry cases eventually! Thank you, we were very glad for this little weekend of total escapism!

John you have such a way about capturing such gorgeous moments, the sunrise shots at the beginning, made me wish I was booking a trip right now! The sleepy John segment was so adorable, those couches are so comfy, it took me back to knocking out on the couch at AK: Kidani Village during my family's trip a while back. The kitchens are sooo useful we also put it to good use as well, they are so convenient especially the laundry!!! The pools at Wilderness Lodge are so nicely themed, the waterslide one is sooooo neat, and lol at John's smooth entrance hhaha. The dinners that are "for people who can put food away" from disney are such a blessing, my family of 6 loves them ahahhahah. The way it was pouring tho... that looked so majestic, I love rainy nights. - Anferne (this is the 3rd time i type the comment because i keep forgetting to hit "comment" lol
Can’t beat a sofa nap! We took a very special staycation this past week and naps were high on the the priority list haha.
The beef brisket dip at geyser point is a must do!!! I’m dreaming of it now!
Also John thank you for taking one for the team and doing the sofa nap test! This is important research!
Our friends ordered one of those! Between us all we certainly worked our way through the Geyser Point menu that weekend lol. HA! He's always happy to be of service in that regard! 😂

Brilliant vlog- loved the balance of all of the different things including eating whilst the storm was going on. One thing we did when we were there last (August 2019) was to rent a self drive pontoon from the poly and then have follow up drinks in trader sams. Thanks for entertaining us again !

Another absolutely lovely time watching your trip! Geyser point looks absolutely delicious and your pool footage did not disappoint! Those slides are everything. Love that they provided you towels at dinner lol! We did not know about the refills on the food! Holy moly! So if you finished everything you could request a full pan of just one item?! That is bananas and were totally going when my son is a teenager because at 2 he already eats us out of house and home! Have a lovely week! Looking forward to Halloween footage at MK soon!!

That so called spring/ river thing that runs into the pool isn’t exactly real there is actually a dam under the bridge to where half the water which is really waste water from the other pool which runs in a drain, the other half is a complicated mess of fresh water pipes that bring filtered and clean water out from the bridge to get that clean water look. It’s one complex thing that Disney used to create the clear water you see. You should see the bungalows over at the poly on the lake their water systems are self contained minus the pipes underneath, but every few hours you’ll hear a big noise which is just the water system dumping itself out into the hotel system. Disney has the most complex systems for even the simplest thing I swear.
Haha we figured it wasn't the same water but the effect is cool! Interesting re the bungalows too!
Will we get to find out where John's new job is ? OK so give us a clue :) would we be likely to bump into him on site :)
Haha it's not at Disney I'm afraid! He's working at a restaurant downtown 😀 Three shifts in and it's so far so good!!!

Quick question..lol.. Just wondering why you didn't cook all three pieces of bacon at once..?
I normally try not to cook proteins close together. It probably didn’t make a difference when it came to cooking bacon but I like to avoid it so it doesn’t shrivel in the pan too much ☺️ -J
@@KelsandJohn cut them in half it helps the shrivel I've noticed I've switched to turkey bacon after reading some thing about pigs lol

Aww thank you so much!!! He's definitely soft spoken. The two of us need to find a middle ground so I can either up the volume when he's speaking (and not deafen everyone when I am lol) or just have him speak a little louder. We'll definitely work on it! :)
