I had dark skin complexion when I was young and i still remember some disheartening incidents like my aunts taunting about the colours of my clothes. Don't know how but puberty changed my complexion fair enough to stop discriminating remarks. And now whenever people show concerns about any change in my skin tone, i never keep myself from reminding them they are being judgemental and every skin tone is beautiful in its own way.
People say rude things to my two years old daughter just bcz she have dark skin tone. But I ignore them coz I know my daughter got an incredible personality that makes me so proud

I remember during my school days, I had a senior who was dark skinned and everyone of his class as well juniors called him "Kaala Kauwa"(black crow) and terms like that... but I genuinely found him so unique and actually had a crush on him, unfortunately he loved another girl from my class cause I was also somewhat dark and people barely noticed me at that time.. so I tied Rakhi and made him my brother(I still admired him, and he also liked me as a sister).. but the girl after accepting his proposal also used to call him by certain insulting names. The most irritating part which pissed me was, one day she ditched him and then she gave the reason for leaving him was she can't have sex with him as because his sperm would also be black. 😑 It was time I lost my cool and actually told her that she's a piece of shit, cause besides being a racist she doesn't even know how to respect someone, and we never talked again after that day.

The opposite actually happened to me, since i was the only fair skinned girl in the whole group, they used to say things like "you don't have to be too proud just because you have fair skin, you're not special, get over your self" things like that. I never said anything about them being dark and me being fair. If i was that racist, i wouldn't have made any friends at school because majority of them were dark and that's okay. Being a dark skinned girl in India is a sin. I never felt beautiful even for a second because I am dusky. Even if you have good facial features and dusky or dark skinned they don't call you beautiful. Parents have to spend so much gold on dark skinned girl if they want to get her married. I had dark skin complexion when I was young and i still remember some disheartening incidents like my aunts taunting about the colours of my clothes. Don't know how but puberty changed my complexion fair enough to stop discriminating remarks. And now whenever people show concerns about any change in my skin tone, i never keep myself from reminding them they are being judgemental and every skin tone

I remember during my school days, I had a senior who was dark skinned and everyone of his class as well juniors called him "Kaala Kauwa"(black crow) and terms like that... but I genuinely found him so unique and actually had a crush on him, unfortunately he loved another girl from my class cause I was also somewhat dark and people barely noticed me at that time.. so I tied Rakhi and made him my brother(I still admired him, and he also liked me as a sister).. but the girl after accepting his proposal also used to call him by certain insulting names.
The most irritating part which pissed me was, one day she ditched him and then she gave the reason for leaving him was she can't have sex with him as because his sperm would also be black. 😑

The opposite actually happened to me, since i was the only fair skinned girl in the whole group, they used to say things like "you don't have to be too proud just because you have fair skin, you're not special, get over your self" things like that. I never said anything about them being dark and me being fair. If i was that racist, i wouldn't have made any friends at school because majority of them were dark and that's okay.
