I grew up right across the road on my Grandfather's dairy farm, HillCrest Dairies. What a life, so beautiful with the stream cutting through the pasture, bullfrogs, turtles.... I even had my own pet cow!
Hi Patrick, Sounds like a wonderful place to grow up. Raised in Philadelphia, I often wonder what it must of have been like to grow up in a rural community. A pet cow, huh? Very cool! : )
Great video Jenn! Heard of Pearl S. Buck but never read anything by her (much to my book loving mother's chagrin 😊)...sounds like she led a pretty extraordinary life! Love the history of the property as well!! Explore on!
Hi Sue, I would say that The Good Earth is still a good read. So make your mother proud and order a copy! : ) Yes, she lived an extroadinary life. Thank you for watching, my friend!
I know I have mentioned this before back in your tour of Philadelphia, but some of the architecture and grandioso interiors were so beautifully designed and built back in the 1800's. Very nice video Jen! Daniel
What a beautiful house. Love all the sculptures and the beautiful grounds. I enjoy reading so I'll have to add that one to my list. I haven't read any Pearl Buck books before.
Hi LumberJack I've passed it before stopping in and always thought it was in Dublin PA, but nope, it's Perkasie. Yeah, it's a nice little day trip if your ever in the area. Thank you for watching, my friend!
I live practically around the corner from here and have never been, now that I've seen your video, I will definitely be visiting. Thanks for the video! I'm a new subscriber, absolutely love your content! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
@@TrailsTailsHikesRails Hi Judith! Yes, check it out. It's really a nice place to take walk and learn a little about an awesome writer. Thank you so much for subscribing. I plan to do alot of exploring in Bucks County. It's quickly becoming my favorite county in Pa!
Pearl Buck was born in West Virginia, there is a roadside sign at the location. For about 20 years i lived in a home i built on a property that had been owned by Pearl Buck within about 1/4 mile of her residence. Welcome House road was named after the Welcome House where she housed the migrant children.
