  • DOING A URBAN EXPLORATION OF ABANDONED CALDWELL HOUSE NEAR PAISLEY WITH THE DJI AVATA 2. I VISITED HERE AS A PRIMARY SCHOOL KID TO ENTERTAIN THE DISABLED CHILDREN RESIDENT HERE AS A SCHOOL DAY OUT AND THE MEMORY HAS ALWAYS STUCK WITH ME. HOW QUICKLY A GRAND MANOR HOUSE CAN BE TAKEN BACK BY MOTHER NATURE.
Caldwell House was a historic mansion located in the village of Uplawmoor, East Renfrewshire, Scotland. It was the centre of the Caldwell Estate until the beginning of the 20th century when the cost of upkeep led to it being sold to the local council. They put it to use as a hospital for the mentally insane and later a children’s home until it was closed and abandoned in 1985. It has remained abandoned since.
Records of an estate at Caldwell can be dated back to 1294 when it neighboured the forest of Forenze, a favoured hunting location of the high stewards of Scotland who were tasked with overseeing the domestic affairs of the royal household. The Mure family’s first connection to Caldwell was in 1328 when Gilchrist Mure of Cowdams married the heiress of Caldwell. The estate grew throughout the 15th century and the family became to be called the Mures of Caldwell.
The Mures held favour with the Scottish royal family although there was some questionable behaviour. John Mure of Caldwell was murdered in an feud with the Cunningham family of Aiket in 1570 and his son Robert was jailed for harassing his tenants by James VI. At this time, the family lived in a castle on the estate, part of which remains as Caldwell Tower.

Jim this one of them flights where the Avata excels, at a slower pace this little drone is so gentle, the house was perfect for the flight you have captured, even though the drone screams like a banshee the footage was so serene, this is one of my favourites of yours, well done this was epic Jim. 👏👏👏👍.
