For my fellow confused americans PEGI is the game rating standard in europe whereas we use ESRB.
Yet I’ve hear it in America.
Right I thought he sounded familiar but then when he said I knew it wss him probably heard watching trailers of games that released in Europe 1st or maybe playasia or some other market like that

For those who don’t know pegi is a type of rating for video games, and pegi 18 specifically is the rating for “ahem” adult games.
It's more for "mature" games. Adult only games are a risk for the companies since it is associated mostly with porn games. And all consoles forbid adult only games on their platform.

Can't even view steam pages for any game with adult themes on steam when on an account registered in Germany, which... well in most cases isn't much of a loss ("visual novels" and other low quality shovelware), but some games got hit in the crossfire of this where that isn't the main topic, which is quite unfortunate

The full-on hardcore blocking (where you can't even see the store page of a blocked game anymore) started in december 2020. before that everything was fine and dandy, and there were multiple ways to (somewhat) easily bypass the few light blocks that already existed. Nowadays? No such luck. Can't even redeem keys of blocked games bought in other countries. The wishlist bypass no longer works either.
