  • There are many opportunities for doctors in training at WA Country Health Service (WACHS), including for interns, residents and registrars.
Accredited intern and resident medical officer (RMO) rotations provide experience, education and support for prevocational doctors looking for rural experience. Interns rotate through emergency, general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics and psychiatry.
Geraldton also has college accredited registrar training positions and offers the Australian Medical Council (AMC) accredited Workplace Based Assessment (WBA) program.
The Medical Education program provides comprehensive education and training including clinical supervision, regular education sessions, orientation and assessment support, simulation training, and a range of professional development programs. Junior doctors are encouraged to develop their research skills through local audits and short scholarly projects.
