    Thanks for not just assuming and taking the time to take the extra steps to inspect further and get some answers. That for sure shows us a clear difference between the two and certainly shows us a mechanical issue at hand. Other than the difference in expansion pocket pattern its odd how the faulted cylinder has so much pressure "flutter" in the pattern when at atmospheric and in vacuum. And definitely as you pointed out the difference at the intake stroke section, again cylinder 2 has no pull into vacuum compared to the other cylinder, almost as if it wasn't pulling against a restriction. Crazy for sure, thanks for sharing .

    I always tell the parts changers to start with the most expensive parts first. That way when you keep calling back to say it didn't work your calling back with cheaper and cheaper parts with each call. 😂

    I had one of these in Interlagos Blue. A wonderful car. Looked like new. A blast to drive, although my previous M3 was more fun in my opinion. But the price I had to pay to keep it running wasn't worth it. It was on average a $1k a month! There was always something gone wrong. After the last issue, when the slave cylinder quit, and I had to shell out $3.5k to get it fixed, I traded it in for a Prius, and can't be happier. 😇

    Hi. Awesome video hope we get to see the cause and repair.
    For the 13 degrees discrepancy how can you know that's a tooth skipped how did you calculate that?. Also does this mean the exhaust valve is opening too early or late? trying to make sense of it. Are you implying that timing may be an issue of misfire or the data in cylinder test is leading you to suspect that?. How come you did not do a relative compression test ? Just wondering. I am trying to become a better tech and your videos are helpful just need more explanation to understand a bit better. Thanks again you're a game changer in the field.

      @abdul-kabiralegbe5660 7 месяцев назад +1

      I think the relative compression test would have revealed nothing since the peak pressures in the in-cylinder waveforms were identical.

    • @Shelby-ug5cl
      @Shelby-ug5cl 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@abdul-kabiralegbe5660 ok good point. This test is a more detailed test with more data in it. what if you did not have a pressure transducer though do you think an ignition waveform would be good for this situation?.
      I was thinking of getting a pressure transducer but looking for something for a decent price. Any recommendations?

    Great video. But I have a question, you do a lot of BMW work, do you have ISTA? I think it makes working on them way easier. But not even for the Test Plans, but all the service information it contains (wiring diagrams, etc).

    Even if a "Tech" doesn't know BMW's specifically, or have all the fancy computer diagnostic equipment. You'd think they could at least follow the basic troubleshooting tree for a misfire before they start fire saling parts at it.

    I've got the same car (2007 M6 convertible) and it's a weekly battle keeping it going. Just a note that any throttle actuator problem before startup will shut that bank down. I've had to do both throttle actuators -105k miles and replace some of the linkage as the plastic parts wear out. Also had to do a throttle position sensor on bank 2. The plastic coupling that drives it just disintegrated. Any of these failures triggers a myriad of other faults that really don't exist. Interested to see what that actual problem with yours is. Great videos.

    Nailed it.😊 But as worried i am i would also check the other 4 cylinders on this Bank1 with incylinder pressure ,to see if they show similar waveforms. If only this cylinder shows late exhaust closing and others are good ,i would think of single cam lobe problem. Which cant be cam lob problem because all cylinders on the bank throw misfires codes. Am i going to rabbit hole 🤔
