This young man is stellar. Intelligent, methodical, meticulous, very articulate. Thank you for providing this information. I'm an old DIY guy who's trying to learn contemporary auto electronics troubleshooting. Mario is one of my trusted resources.
great demo on showing how to use the scope with finding the communication issue and proving out that "programming" wont "fix" the REM issue unless it's online. Man made problems are always the funkiest but at least it looks like yours were all in the same general area to say the least. Thanks for sharing as always.
What a nightmare! Mario......You're the best! Depending on how badly was the wiring damage in the wreck, plus what looks like someone was turned loose with cutting pliers, you really had a job repairing that harness! I hope the customer appreciates what you've accomplished!
Good work and easily found by using logical steps ! How are you finding the Micsig ? Im looking for a quick to grab tablet scope and they seem great on paper
That was very informative information showing the K cann line sending out the hello signal like you showed, I’ll definitely keep that in the memory bank. I would love to know what was going through someone’s head when they were messing with that rats nest lol
is K-CAN the BMW terminology for one of their CAN networks similar to how GM lables their CAN networks as GMLAN or ford as hs-can or ls-can? or is it something else?
@SuperMarioDiagnostics, How do you like the Micsig scopes? I am eyeing there new VATO2004 scope box (you connect to a tablet)...and just wondered what someone in daily diag thinks of their software side and overall quality etc.😎
It’s way faster to look up diagrams in Alldata than it is to find diagrams in ista or air. That’s my experience anyway. I use Alldata as my “first look” for all cars. If i need to, I’ll look at oe diagrams. Didn’t see the need this time. I didn’t whip out ista until it was time to program
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics That’s cool was just out of interest as I am toying with getting alldata as a yearly sub and paying for Odis and Ista as I go. Alldata isn’t quite as good in the UK as it is inthe US but it’s getting better. Hopefully get to see a little more of both of odis and ista on SD Premium 😉 thanks for your great content 👍🏻
Worst cars to diagnose are the issues created by another human being. The same question always arises “What the heck were they thinking? I laughed while watching your video and you stopped yourself from ranting away, there was a 10 year stretch in my career mid 20’s through mid 30’s where it bugged me when I found issues created by another mechanic now I just fixed them and move on 😂. I’m 49 I don’t waste brain cells wondering or ranting why people did what they did. I’m fortunate where I work it’s just me and the owner we have been working together for 22 years and we have similar way of repairing vehicles, so all of the weird issues or poorly repaired wiring are coming from other shops 😂😂😂
This is the perfect reason why you need to document everything on an invoice and take plenty of pictures. This way, the customer can’t come back later and say, 'Ever since you did this, now it won’t do that.' And it's another reason never to buy a BMW.
Wow what a piece of trash you had to work on there. Judging by the wiring job they did and the "professional respray" combined with the stickers on the front window, someone purchased an "auction special"?

Indeed !
A master expert !
And a tremendous 👍🏼 coach !
Mario thanks for sharing what you are up against at times. Unbelieveable

Lol! Green bmw, all hacked up - only in Miami (great diag!)
Great Diag, Thanks for sharing!
I've even seen some shops doing this,😮it's a crazy industry.

Another epic lesson . Thanks mate !
💻 📈 🔧 🔥
Did you learn the pinging trick from Bernie? I sure as heck knew it right away when I saw the signal.
you are the best
I love DIYers. It usually costs them 3 times as much than if they would have just brought it to me in the first place.
OMG look at the paint job 🤣🤣🤣 I just noticed the green exterior and the original red paint
Well done Mario. Great video

😂 “what are you doing? Oh my gosh!” Haha
thanks Mario , very useful , nice one man , cheers
I'll say it for you Mario, WHAT A FREEKING MESS!!!
So proficient Mario!

Does having the wires twisted together indicates communication lines?

I haven’t tried that one yet but they keep improving and i think they are very powerful scopes for the money
@@SuperMarioDiagnostics Alright, appreciate the feedback, I'm a picoscope loving guy on Micsig budget. 😝
Nice video man what are you apologizing for? What tool did you use to program the car?
To quote Clint Eastwood.....a man needs to know his limitations 😂
This is the Red/Green show beemer. Only in Miami lol
Are those speaker wires? Looks like someone at some point might of had an aftermarket amplifier installed.
No, computer data lines
@@deerhunter8533 no the other twisted wires that was cut up.
Is there any reason for not using AIR for service information as your using ISTA for programming?

What kind of lab scope is that
Its a micsig sato1004
Thanks man I'm getting one
@user-ph2oo4fn9g no problem
❤❤❤
Doing a driveby I see. 👍
I think keath D. had the same issue in one of his 3 series he shared on YT

I would of refused to work on that junk. That will certainly come back with more faults.
Great video Mario. What a butchered mess.
2nd!
BMWs sure keep you busy but would you ever buy one??¿
Its not a Bmw problem, its a hacked up wiring loom by someone unskilled and/or not caring.
Bro got maxisys ultra on his wrist
😂
wtf is on the drivers head rest!!?
Ring out com wires
What model scope do you have? I looked up the brand but a lot of buffet choices
SATO 1004
I have this scope, amazing scope. However, there are cheaper alternatives out there like the Hscope 😉
Hack city!!!
I still wouldn't touch it until I get customer approval. With a rats nest like that.
Forth 😂
Dear lord what a mess
Wtf? 😂 is that a rat nest? 😂
