Firing Order: 1 6 5 10 2 7 3 8 4 9 Thanks for not just assuming and taking the time to take the extra steps to inspect further and get some answers. That for sure shows us a clear difference between the two and certainly shows us a mechanical issue at hand. Other than the difference in expansion pocket pattern its odd how the faulted cylinder has so much pressure "flutter" in the pattern when at atmospheric and in vacuum. And definitely as you pointed out the difference at the intake stroke section, again cylinder 2 has no pull into vacuum compared to the other cylinder, almost as if it wasn't pulling against a restriction. Crazy for sure, thanks for sharing .
I always tell the parts changers to start with the most expensive parts first. That way when you keep calling back to say it didn't work your calling back with cheaper and cheaper parts with each call. 😂
First of all, Thank you for taking the time & getting back to us on RUclips (not often we get to see you here🧐) Apparently, I'm also not so active & following RUclips but really miss you guy's😍😍😍(learned a lot from SD & you😍😍😍) I assume that you've ISTA as well, since the missing info would be available with it🧐 Stay Safe BRO👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I had one of these in Interlagos Blue. A wonderful car. Looked like new. A blast to drive, although my previous M3 was more fun in my opinion. But the price I had to pay to keep it running wasn't worth it. It was on average a $1k a month! There was always something gone wrong. After the last issue, when the slave cylinder quit, and I had to shell out $3.5k to get it fixed, I traded it in for a Prius, and can't be happier. 😇
I've got the same car (2007 M6 convertible) and it's a weekly battle keeping it going. Just a note that any throttle actuator problem before startup will shut that bank down. I've had to do both throttle actuators -105k miles and replace some of the linkage as the plastic parts wear out. Also had to do a throttle position sensor on bank 2. The plastic coupling that drives it just disintegrated. Any of these failures triggers a myriad of other faults that really don't exist. Interested to see what that actual problem with yours is. Great videos.
Even if a "Tech" doesn't know BMW's specifically, or have all the fancy computer diagnostic equipment. You'd think they could at least follow the basic troubleshooting tree for a misfire before they start fire saling parts at it.
Nailed it.😊 But as worried i am i would also check the other 4 cylinders on this Bank1 with incylinder pressure ,to see if they show similar waveforms. If only this cylinder shows late exhaust closing and others are good ,i would think of single cam lobe problem. Which cant be cam lob problem because all cylinders on the bank throw misfires codes. Am i going to rabbit hole 🤔
Hi. Awesome video hope we get to see the cause and repair. For the 13 degrees discrepancy how can you know that's a tooth skipped how did you calculate that?. Also does this mean the exhaust valve is opening too early or late? trying to make sense of it. Are you implying that timing may be an issue of misfire or the data in cylinder test is leading you to suspect that?. How come you did not do a relative compression test ? Just wondering. I am trying to become a better tech and your videos are helpful just need more explanation to understand a bit better. Thanks again you're a game changer in the field.
@@abdul-kabiralegbe5660 ok good point. This test is a more detailed test with more data in it. what if you did not have a pressure transducer though do you think an ignition waveform would be good for this situation?. I was thinking of getting a pressure transducer but looking for something for a decent price. Any recommendations?

Great video. But I have a question, you do a lot of BMW work, do you have ISTA? I think it makes working on them way easier. But not even for the Test Plans, but all the service information it contains (wiring diagrams, etc).

Hey Mario am an automotive technician from jamaica, I have been subscribed to your channel for 3 yrs now, what I want is there any BMW courses online for international students. If so please can you recommend me to one I have always been interested on working on bmws professionally so if there is any course that I can do please let me know kindly reply to this plz
Hey Mario, seeing that your suspecting a timing issue, would a cam crank correlation waveform visually help with confirming that one tooth out that you saw in your in-cylinder waveforms?? Thanks I'm working on a audi S6 v10 and it has missfire codes but im starting to suspect a timing issue but I have no reference waveform for a cam crank
Can you show us how you got them compression and information regarding valve opening time. Seemed to of skipped that one. Thank you very much superb as normal. Many thanks. !

Love this content i work class 8 diesels and i use same techniques and same test in my field 💯👏👍

I think the relative compression test would have revealed nothing since the peak pressures in the in-cylinder waveforms were identical.

@@Shelby-ug5clIvan @ PineHollowAutoDiagnostics sells a nice little transducer kit. I got one a while back it’s pretty slick.
how did you get fuse 201 I read fuse 01 20a a stands for amperage .

A bad camchain tensioner could be the culprit.
So is it a jumped timing tooth??

don't get it confused with fuse 001
👍👍👍
How did you do the overlay with the 2 different picoscreens to match them?
How to overlay in-cylinder waveforms - and how peak compression CAN be a false TDC

Hey Mario I have a question,
On the login page of identifix the technician on the picture is your brother?
I just had to look, it’s not him. The guy pictured doesn’t have arm tats. Mario’s brother has arm tats…. He’s in the video so it’s easy to see.

Probably timing chain stretch
These cars def need a proper mechanic n proper wallet. Sadly most of these current n past owners are knobs. S85 are way ahead of its year.

And ?
I'd start by selling it and bying a proper car, perhaps a Lincoln continental.
I think you spelt Honda wrong.
