  • Sir Nick Faldo has won 6 Majors and an addition 37 Worldwide wins. Nick Faldo was one of the best back in the day with his precision and mental game.
    But Nick Faldo also had one of the best understandings of the golf swing. What fundamentals people should focus on and what drills work best to develop a consistent and powerful golf swing. Nick's drills are gold and one in particular, the Pre Set Drill, I come back to time and again. That golf drill has been a savior at times for my golf swing.

    Fantastic upload here. Faldo was one of my favorite golfers growing up & I always tried to mimic a lot of his swing positions. These drills are great for getting urself into classic positions @ takeaway, top & impact ⛳️

    Dick Farley of “The Swing is the Thing golf schools said “ the club is either pointing to or parallel to the target line”. If , in addition to that, the head remains still, it is impossible to miss the ball!😊

    These tips are pure gold! If you follow his instructions you doesn't need much more becoming a good golfer. I learned the game in the mid 20 aging alone from analyzing pictures from Faldo in the 1990s and reading a leadbetter book. And i became a scratch player within of months....

      @@2Stutter months is relative but : in my first tournament i started with 36 and shot 57 points. One of month late i short 5 over 6 months after beginning 3 over and in my second year rounds under par... I won club championships stroke play 4 rounds level par... My problem never was hitting greens in regulation, it was putting. And if you startet playing in years near 30 you never will be able to score solid on a bad day. But players who started as a kid can hold the score together on such a awful day. Faldo is my hero, his masters final round 1996 is perfect done. In the last 25 years i played in total about 100 rounds of golf - but last year i shot a 3 over... This tips from Faldo are pure gold!

I think Greg Norman started also late, he was 20 years old as i remember. He and Faldo, who started at the age of 16, dominated the golf world for a long time. Faldo is my idol, watching his 1996 masters final round is for me again and again a absolute pleasure!

    Far be it from me to ever contradicts what Mr. Faldo says. He is a major champion, a golf HOFer and a tough f’ing competitor. For my myself and many teachers out there and even golfers like Padraig Harrington who is a Major Winner in his own right, the swing is controlled by the arms and hands especially for high and mid handicappers. Learn the hands and arms first then learn the body. Just an opinion. Edited to say that it works better for me and some others. Then there are some who think of the swing totally different and there are some great golfers in that group. It’s what makes the game both confounding in some aspects yet beautiful in others.

      These are simply drills that players can elect to use. Never once did I hear Faldo say that this is the only way to swing a golf club.

      It's a feeling, every golfer feels the swing differently, there is no right or wrong way, it's whatever is the most effective for you and gets you the lowest score, simple as that 🏌🏼‍♂️

    • @federationspace5264
      @federationspace5264 3 месяца назад +1

      @@phreak761you're not incorrect but personally i'm tired of that response. there are right and wrong ways to do things. every time someone says any variant of "it's feel versus real" they are trying to evade actually having to explain what they think is correct. the key to every good (scratch golfer or better) golf swing is release/impact - anyone who can't shoot under par and is relaying what they think is happening is full of baloney.

      @phreak761 3 месяца назад +3

      @@federationspace5264 Then you will spend the rest of your life trying to find perfection in something where it doesn't exist, we are not robots unfortunately and can't even repeat the same move twice exactly the same, there's always going to be variables at play that we can never overcome.
      We can only do our best to the best of our own ability. Some people are truly terrible at sports in general and just don't have it, and no amount of coaching is going to get them to a high level.
      If you are one of those people who regularly shoot under par with a plus handicap you should be proud of your accomplishments because you are in the top 1% already, good luck in your golf journey.

    Upward setting or backward setting? There is an ocean of difference between these two approaches. Imho, the backward setting is dangerous for most golfers, because when you combine it with your turn, the clubhead will get sucked inside.
