    You've almost got that truck tricked out exactly the way I want it! I've actually done a somewhat similar repair in an Auto Zone parking lot on one of my cars (in the rain!). Great job on the video (as always)! Whenever you're ready to work on the Corvette....brakes..and I want to buy some Borla atak pipes!

    I changed the spark plugs to my 2002 toyota tacoma I thought it was going to stop the engine shaking but it didn't do you think is it because I didn't change the ignition oil ?

    Is it necessary to remove that air filter hose? Also, is it this easy to replace these on the 3.4L 2001 Tacoma? Thanks!

    I had a customer here that replaced his entire ignition system and injectors for "maintenance" with the cheapest parts he could find on Amazon. His Yukon runs like crap now. Just looking at the injectors I can see some weren't working. Now he's looking over $900 to get 8 injectors from advance auto parts... and that's assuming the cheap ignition components are working. I told him to look for his old injectors because it could save him hundreds. He threw them out...

      I am not a fan of preventative maintenance with really cheap parts that's for sure! Thanks for the input Jonathan!

    That Denso coil with the blue "D" on it is an AutoZone Duralast coil. A lot of the Duralast coils are made by Denso but not all of them. I work a 2nd job at AZ & most (not all) of the Duralast coils are made by the companies that make the OEM coils.

    Doesn't dielectric grease cause unwanted resistance when used on electrical connectors and spark plug boots?

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  5 лет назад +2

      No, the stuff I used is designed for this.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117 5 лет назад +1

      I've never seen dielectric grease cause any problems. 👍

      @@themechanic6117 I've seen dielectric grease cause headlight sockets to melt because the person used too much. Just a few days ago I seen a AZ customer install a new headlight bulb in his Toyota Sienna & he applied some dielectric grease to the socket & when he turn the lights on smoke started coming from the socket.

    Can't you take an Ohm meter hook it up to the connector contact and do some resistant testing, a shame to throw away good coils?

  • @karlreed86

    I just pulled a couple coils and there was a LOT of oil in there... is there supposed to be oil present under the coils and in the spark plug area?

    Agree with your recommendation about using the manufacturers original equipment. Could you mention the means that I would be able to do this

      After a while you just learn from experience who makes certain components for vehicle manufacturers.

    Is the #3 coil normally a different plug than the other three? My 02 prerunner does. All parts I see online appear to all have the same plug

    • @BigDog50001
      @BigDog50001  3 года назад +1

      Should be the same plugs in all cylinders. I am not aware of any of those having a different plug in just one cylinder.

    There should not be oil on the boots, why?

  • @stevennahulak6768

    Instead of using dielectric grease, use petroleum jelly. It's cheaper and does the same thing. FYI.
