- In this video, from our Neurology Masterclass: Managing Common Diseases course, we review amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a relentless progressive disorder involving degeneration of motor neurons in the spinal cord, brainstem, and corticospinal tracts. There are no definitive biomarkers or imaging findings for ALS. However extensive blood work and imaging should still be performed to rule out other differential diagnoses.

My friend was absolutely fit but needed spinal surgery for a lingering back pain issue. After immediately after surgery he developed GI issues where he couldn’t eat much. Over the next year he lost a lot of weight since he couldn’t eat much. He saw specialists across the medical field with each saying they couldn’t find anything wrong. Finally after two years later he was diagnosed with ALS. He’s now wheelchair bound. I saw a British medical journal paper that perhaps there was a correlation of spinal surgery and subsequent ALS. Not indicating that it causes it but the trauma or manipulation of the spinal chord could have accelerated or triggered it. For my friend the spinal surgery was literally like flipping a switch to ALS
What an absolutely horrifying disease. My brother died from it; a cure would be absolutely amazing!
What happens if you have symptoms in all three areas, i.g. Cranial nerves, upper and lower motor nerves and an EMG comes back showing nerve conduction abnormalities?

Welp. I was hoping that after my blood tests came back normal my hyperfixation deep dive on als would help uncover more obvious reasons why I shouldn’t have it but fuck me man I’m like so confident that both my parents died from this and it is starting to happen to me too. Just such a chaotic and abusive environment plus alcoholism kept their doctors from noticing but like I would rather be intoxicated too if it means dealing with my body always feeling like this. I’m 27, 10 months sober now, treating my body really well, therapy has always been doing well and I’m not even really anxious about much anymore, I honestly had such a horrendous upbringing that my anxiety was totally normal given the events, so I don’t think I’m blowing anything out of proportion or having a body dysmorphic obsession or anything like that. Now that I’m not surrounded by psychos, it seems like all the grown ups think I’m some kind of autistic hyper empath polymath savant motherfucker which I hate the thought of sometimes but now that I’m sober I guess I’m starting to embrace. But yeah living really healthily for almost a year now, even in addiction I still was really physically active and usually ate pretty well and my symptoms are still getting worse than back when I was drinking. I kept running in circles about nerve problems and shit until I remembered ALS existed and once I went over the identified genetic causes in this paper: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3766231/ I was like well shit. Now after talking with a neurologist over the phone I got an appointment without a doctor referral. Went to see a GP for the first time in years. All of the things in the video were observed today. All four areas of the body, too. Blood tests came back normal except white blood cell count is up to 12.5 now from 8.37 three years ago but just checked and what would you guess, wbc count goes up as the disease is progressing. Awesome. Anyway I’ll let you guys know if I have it. Cause damn what are the odds that I have two parents that carry different versions of the genes and I got both of that shit? And then properly diagnosing it on my own after being medically neglected for 24 years and having to figure out all my mental health and physical health on my own basically before I was comfortable seeking treatment? I might end up a case study for multiple reasons 😂 I’ll start a charity that’s for damn sure.
My whole childhood at checkups it was just “you’re very healthy” now in adulthood, it’s just been “you’re supposed to be very healthy, we don’t know what’s wrong with you”. I’m like my entire matrilineal side dies of neropathy or cancer before or shortly after age 60. My dad was adopted but he had the same death as my mom. Both struggled with balance but not because of a loss of proprioception. Oh and neuropathy in the extremities, weakness, exhibited dementia like symptoms in the months leading to their deaths. Neither lived to 50. I need answers now and thankfully I’m getting appointments but I figured I’d send some smoke signals in RUclips comments on a legit video to see what that does.

Yes, I have all these symptoms and was confirmed ( second tests ) in Iowa City, Iowa University Hospital September 24th, as mainly UPPER but guess what? I’ve also proven that I’ve REVERSED MOST OF ALL the symptoms of lower symptoms!!! HOW? By nutrition!! No processed foods! Fasting and vegan diet & extreme Keto diet ( far better results on Extreme Keto ) and even better results from fasting!! I will be in the history books ( for reversing ALS ) but now the battle is on, to stay alive long enough to detox my brain, which requires 72 hr fasting! So far, I managed a 36 & last night, a 56 hr fast and guess what? My left hand is now stronger than it’s been in over 3+ years!! ( so it’s working!! ) 🙏⚡️💪🕺

If you genuinely had ALS and got cured, you'd be a medical miracle...are you sure you had ALS? Regardless, I'm glad you're healthy
I would use Nestle Duo Good Mix chocolate bars to open my eyes, then Sholassi soap for back support or quick recovery. I am currently using Sholassi Black. The wrong injection has caused an ALS. As to what caused an utter confusion belongs to a whole different discussion.
