    Actually I tried to do this before watching this video. But your way is easier and more flexible.. like we can change the photos with the same effect really easy.. Kudos to you.

    Great video! I like the use of the blend mode and the fill layer to change the colors. The only problem with creating the effect this way is that you're using a layer mask, not the text itself, which means that if you want to change the text afterwards, you would need to redo most of the steps again. And if you print it, the text won't print as sharp (text uses vectors, layer masks use pixels). It's possible to create the effect with the Type layer itself using Photoshop's Blending Options. But having said that, the results still look great!

      There are many components to photoshop lessons. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Trevs Photo Blueprint (check it out on google) definately the best guide that I have ever seen. Check out the interesting info.

    btw u can merge the layers and use the magic wand tool on the text if u only want the text without the background

    if you need to move or change the text, you have to start over again. seems more practical to leave text as is then soft light/text layer to 50 pct opacity,

    Any tips for File > Place Linked or Place Embedded for replacing the image? It says "could not place the document because the current document has an input-only color profile" on either option. On Photoshop CC 20.0.6 Great tutorial. Thanks!

    Tried it off and it works and it's so beautiful the only problem is saving it. I'm saving it as a jpeg image but the file just wouldnt open :(

    Can you put transparent text directly on the base image so that it shows whatever is behind the image (for printing on clear transparency)?
