Thank you for the calm tutorial. Your calm voice allows us to focus on the instruction. Too many tutorials shout at people these days. Can't watch those.
Unfortunately some of the things he's said here are absolutely flawed. 🤦🏾♂️ The Outline Stroke on Transparent Text... He's wrong when he says you have to turn the text into a shape first. You don't have to do that. All you have to do is go to the blending options and apply a stroke, then exit the blending options, go to Fill, and make the fill to zero. That way, the text remains editable.
Hi Brendan, If you go into the layer effects of your text layer and add a coloured stroke to your text and then return to your layer and reduce the fill slider to '0' you will get transparent text. The fill slider reduces the opacity of the layer while keeping the layer effects at full strength. In my opinion this is the easiest way to create transparent text. No need to convert text to a shape.
Yes, you are correct and I definitely should have included that for the outline text option since you can still edit the text. Thanks for your feedback!
Hi Brendan, unfortunately the first two methods will not allow to change the text easily. Could you please find a solution for that type of request??? TXS Dirk
For knockout text, I am not sure of a method that allows you to edit the text since it is on a layer mask, separate from the text. But for the outline text, you can double click on the text layer and click "stroke" and set the stroke to "outside" and choose your color. Then go to "Blending Options" and in the advanced blending tab, move the fill slider to 0 to make the fill color of your text transparent, without converting it to a shape! Hope that helps :) Should have mentioned that as an alternate option when I was recording... lol
You have the option to pause the video after the steps, slow down the video, or go somewhere else. I had my video sped up and I still kept up. Not his fault you're slow
If your image is a say, a paint stroke that is going on a shirt, but you want to 'cut' the words thru the paint stroke in order to allow the shirt color to come thru and be the letters how do you do it?

Can you please teach me how to cut just the 2nd (outlined transparent text) to be exported as a png. Just the transparent text. How to do that?
Hello! Is it possible to do the same thing, but in Photoshop version cs6? Thank you.
Hei is it possible to do that last transparent effect with images too?
Loves your photoshop tutorial bro it helps me a lot ,TBH I learned premier pro lot easier than Photoshop 😂 so many Hot keys to remember:(
Hope you one day participate Benny's edit race thing❤️
Thanks for the idea, I will take a look at doing them! I have definitely thought about it before
That 2nd effect can be done with Blending Options. Drop the opacity to 0 and give it a Stroke.
I can't convert my text into shape because it's a faux bold type. That goes for all my text. Any way to circumvent this?
What if i have compound layers? ( the text is a compound layer from illistrator because i adjusted the font shape)
how do you do the 2nd one in adobe illustrator?
🤩🤩🤩

having no transparent colour option or straight forward outline checkbox is hilairous
Anyone know how to do this on procreate?
This tutorial is not great for people who are new to layer masks. I could not figure that part out.
my brother in christ 90% of your keyboard shortcuts did not work
you talk way to fast for someone that is completely new! i watched this 3 times and still couldn't keep up
