Great tutorial but I got stuck after adding the second layer as stroke path is no longer an option, there is stroke subpath which envelopes the entire area. Any help?
He's great on almost every step. I believe a beginner would be stuck between stoking the path and "free transform" steps, since he doesn't state you have to "delete" the path first, prior to "free transform" step. A minor thing, I still give it 5 stars. :)
If you want to create work like this and don't know where to start, I would suggest an ebook/tutorial on graphic design and Photoshop, 'Design Evolution: Unlocking Adobe Photoshop's Secrets.' It helped me tremendously.
so perfect and straightforward! I love that you add text for the described shortcuts and that you quickly will say "why" something is being done ex: "this will cancel out the color reflection from your shadows for a better color spectrum" brilliant!
i think your action is so meaningful that you have allowed everyone to download your own sources just for free and you have created a bunch of helpful tutorial. Best wishes for you!
I don't know about neon effects, but u just got a like for all the shortcuts I just learned. Couldn't invert the mask layer for the life of me so I had to do it manually, thank you for this .
This tutorial is for advanced users as it is very fast and requires a familiarity of tools. Having said that, it is awesome in its application of tools. Really awesome.
Obviously, it can't be generated by a novice designer, but Mr. Spoon is definitely a pro designer. Man, please make a full playlist of this type of video.
Chris, I learned some neat tricks in that one. The "blend if" specifically. I would love to for you to also add tips/tricks/techniques that make the workflow less destructive (sticking to smart objects, etc.). Really neat non the less.
That "blend if" feature is a gold mine. There's a channel that has a ton of tricks similar in usefulness that you should check out, the channel's called TextureLabs
Thanks for the tutorial and video Spoon Graphics. been watching your videos since my first year of Graphic Design and they are still relevant today. Thank you so much.
Just in case someone stumbles upon this; I am a GIMP user, and I found this helpful as well. Although they don't have the same QOL tools, the skills are transferable. Thank you, Spoon Graphics for this video.
@@Rahul.kr. try darkening the image you're using, prior to following these steps (and make sure you're using a similar version of PhotoShop as in this tutorial). :)
you can use a brush tool to "paint" highlights and shadows where the neon lights would appear on the subject. This is relatively high PS skill level though and even requires knowledge on how to paint.
Fantastic tutorial! Not only did I learn how individual PS features work, but how to use them together to create a finished product. Your walkthrough has been exceedingly educational--thank you!
This video was so helpful! I had to use a tutorial like this for a school assignment, and I love the results! It was so easy to follow along with. Thanks for taking time to make this video.
I feel really happy when I watch a content so good like that one 100% free on internet. Thank you Spoon Graphics! Your work is making difference in the world!
Wow, this video is AWESOME. I was desperately searching for free neon borders for my RUclips thumbnails, and decided to give a crack at one of my own when nothing turned up. This was SUPER helpful and I got the exact result I needed!
