How are you doing now you have to stay in the same country for a whyle? Do u feel like sharing a random day in an African quaranteen? Bet is pretty different than Europe! Are editing and culture shock enough to keep u busy?
I actually have 2 questions that I’m really curious about. 1) Do you take malaria tablets? Or anything like that? Do you use anything to prevent? 2) Mathilda, how do you manage things when you’re on your period? Do you just buy tampons/pads where you are at that moment? Or do you have a menstrual cup or something else? (You don’t have to answer if you think this is too personal, I was just thinking about how I would manage this when I would go on a very long bike trip)
What a top bloke Samuel is, I love the ethos of just getting on a bike and going, no frills and no expensive gear, just riding. Good man! Hope you are all doing ok? Keep the videos coming, I think they're great 👍
Great interview, honest, informative, natural. I have traveled to over 120 countries with a small backpack, but this has got me intrigued about bike touring. I was in Istanbul when Trump locked down flights from Europe, so I headed back to Orlando anticipating a shutdown. We have not been too restricted, and things are opening up. I walk ten miles a day for exercise....and watch the bikes blow by me on the trails. Very inspiring listening to your tales. I sincerely wish you guys safe travels, as you are living proof that the world can be traveled by almost anyone, on any budget.
Thank you Barry, and sorry to hear your travels got interrupted. Hope you will be able to head out on new adventures soon! And definitely look in to bike touring of course 😉
I would like to travel around the world too. But not alone. If anyone is interested...I live in Europe. Just one big question. How do you get all that money for to travel and keep on going traveling. Here is some advice for the plandemic: Bacteria are single-celled, living organisms. They have a cell wall and all the components necessary to survive and reproduce, although some may derive energy from other sources. Viruses are not considered to be “living” because they require a host cell to survive long-term, for energy, and to reproduce. So a VIRUS has to be INJECTED. Just like a VACCINE. www.bitchute.com/video/uWM6YT2NwIAP/?fbclid=IwAR3C_Khzx3d9t4Vg2d2fXN3QWgvSYSqocU1tIdLYS51DbaIFO4FQnFXXIbQ

This is brilliant! I love Samuels spirit and how positive and excited he is about cycling. Amazing, i have the same goal (bike trip to Africa, around Africa, maybe 2021). But i think - only possible with expensive bike, thanks for a change my mind and a lot of inspirations.
I've been following you from the beginning and you both have inspired me to follow your lifestyle. I've traveled Europe and now live in Bulgaria, but now I must head to Asia, and I feel the only way to travel is by bike. Keep the great content coming and safe onward journey, kind regards John.
hello Matilda and Peyman always excited for your new videos enjoyed the content of fellow travelers and how they managed their experiences stay safe if your ever in Calif please would love to show both of you around the area
Fantastic advanture! I met a guy once on my trip from Italy to Poland. He was traveling home (UK) from Czech Republic on 10E bike. He had little rucksack on his back. I asked him what does he carry, and he said that it was mostly books ;) (but he slept in hotels/motes, so he didn't need all the camping equipment). I hope this Covid situation will allow to travel very soon! Have fun! :-)
Thank you! Yes, sometimes I feel travelling is as easy or difficult as you make it. Always great to see when people are not limited by their equipment!
Excellent video. Persons having the urge to go bicycle touring and experience adventure are just exceptional. Thx for your high quality videos and sharing your experiences.
This guy made a good decision to just get a bicycle and get out in nature! There's a You Tube channel of a guy travelling on cheap, secondhand folding bicycles, and he does it on a very tight budget. Your Interviewee will encourage more people to try to do it for themselves.
Very cool. I'm just investing on my first bike for touring, and we always put so much effort on getting the most expensive, because our bias tells us that we need it, that we forget that you can virtually do it with anything. And now Samuel is streaming games while cycling at home! Great guy! XD
Looks like you guys are inspiring many people and i am one of them , here soon when I have the gear I need I will be starting my own bike adventure. ohh thanks man! im Hungarian, and im thinking which f.expensive bike could be good for me..but now perhaps i just go back to my country and buy there something. for 100 euro ....
I would recommend a local bike tour for beginners so they can get a feel of riding short distances to a camp site in their state or country and practice camping out and carrying all their gear on the bike before adventuring out and far away from their point of origin. A well known bicycle tourist by the name of Darren Alff gives great pointers and advice for beginner bike tourists.
Thanks for watching! We don't have any since most are not valid if you travel for as long as we do, and the few that would be are incredibly expensive...
Having been on the road for whole my life...backpacking, seakayaking and last year's long-distance walking. Everything breaks down. So called good expensive brands can be a illusion and cheap ones can be a kit you use for years. Bought many years ago in the tropics a bike for 30 euro, backpack on the front and just paddling. I always say: use your imagination and you will have the best travels. FB kayak cobber Anyway I don't like cycling but maybe because I am from Holland.

Happy you liked it! Sorry to say we don't have that much information about Samuels gear, but at least his tent and I think some other of his gear was from Decathlon. We avoid moving around at the moment even if we are allowed to, travelling is not much appreciated when everyone is trying to limit the spread of the virus as much as possible 😊
Yes, my rural area is a similar situation however we are permitted to engage in “essential activities” which includes riding a bicycle so I try to get out for a few miles each day. Have y’all had the need to use your backup chia seed stash?
Respect! I got some budget to buy a bike and equipment to hit the road in the summers and holidays that i have during Europe and eventually go to morroco my motherland through west africa, what do you think about buying a full biked equiped instead of buying it to pieces as u did? what about disc brakes steel frames , i saw a salsa marrakesh, still lost for what kind of bike i should be lookin for, any advice? thanks
Thanks 😊 Definitely easier to buy a full bike, especially if you don't have a strong opinion on exactly which components you want. One big plus of building your own bike is that then you know how it works so you will be able to fix it if needed, but you can of course study your store bought bike too. Steel frame is a good idea, many people like disc brakes but we chose rim brakes because discs are a little more vulnerable (so you need to be careful for example if you transport the bike in a car) and spare parts are more difficult to find/more complicated to fix. But from Europe to Morocco non of this should be a big problem.
Brilliant thanks that was such fun cheers guys , my question is where did peymans inspiration come from to want to travel by bike ,and Matilda what was yours.
Sam cycled for 4 months from Hungary to The Gambia, unfortunately we don't know his exact route but it is at least 6500 km. Someone in the comments identified the bike as a Winora Super Trekking from the early 90s 😊
