Thank you so much for this thorough and well-made tutorial. I’m a beginner sewist and just finished making Florence Pants following your instructions. They have turned out great. All your tips and tricks were extremely helpful.
😊well done. I just ordered the digital pattern & do SOOOO appreciate your providing a quality side pattern & the tips on securing pocket tops into elastic waistband for better distribution & pocket strength (for starters). Than k you.
Thank you for this, I've wanted to add pockets to my future Florence's but figuring out how to best do it has felt difficult. A very clear tutorial and sharing the pocket pattern is very helpful as well. Only thing to do is figure out the seam allowance in centimeters, but I'm sure I'll manage. I bet my next Florence pants will be the most high quality yet thanks to this tutorial!
Thank you for the pocket pattern! And of course for the tutorial. That waistband is just excellent. I’m going to have to get better at knowing how tight I want my elastic to be, though. I usually have to adjust it several times after putting it in the casing.
Thank you, thank you ! The timing of your video couldn't have been better and it was very helpful. The pocket pattern was a big plus. I made a test pair for my daughter and they had great fit. She loved them but immediately asked if they could have pockets. Problem solved!
Hey thanks for the demonstration . I need to get the pattern. I understand it's no longer available. Do you know how I can get hold of it? Or is there a lovely person in this community who might share. ES is not yet distributing her patterns Would love to have the florence pants, clyde pants and Georgia top/dress... Thanks in advance
@@lyssascott Hello, I will not share the pattern based on the specific instructions of the pattern designer. The patterns were generously available for free for a limited time. I believe that the designer intends to make the pattern available in the future.
Hello! I am unable to find this pattern online and would love for someone to share it with me. I am in love with the pair of Clyde work pants I sewed earlier this year but would love this pattern. Help is so appreciated!
Just found this today - nearly a year later. Excellent tutorial. Thank you! I will be missing the actual pattern but perhaps am hoping to draft from my daughter's well loved E.S. pants.
Thank you for this educational tutorial for the Florence Pant! Very helpful! How do you add several rows of stitching over the elastic waistband? Sew and stretch as you go? thank you!
Hi Lisa! Thank you so much! Yes, to add several rows of topstitching, you'd stretch the waistband and sew as you go! If you want to see the technique in action, that's how I finish the waistband in my Clyde Pants tutorial video on my channel!
Hi there! Yes, the seam allowances are included. :) The side seams and crotch seam allowances are 3/8". The waistband and hem allowances are both 2 1/2".
Hi! This is helpful to follow along, but it would be even better if you would model the pants or at least show the finished product. Please show the finished product at the start of the video and the end so we can get excited about the process and know that the result you got is or isn’t the one we want. Thanks!!
Hi Claire! The sizes should be color coded in the files, so for 8 lines, you'll see 4 colors (one color for each size) For each size's colored lines, the inside line is the stitching line, and the outside line of that same color is the cutting line. :) Does that help?
I went to grab the pocket pattern and after I put in my information and hit submit, the page that it goes to can't be found. Do you know any other way to get that pattern? Thank you so much!
Thanks for your patience, Maryam! I think I've successfully updated the links! I you want to email me at hello at stitch-collective.com I can email the pocket pattern directly to you, since you've already entered your info in the form!
If you know a sewist that has them, you can email and request they share with you! Liz has indicated that person-to-person sharing is ok, but requested that they not be publicly hosted for now.
@@stitchcollective8329 Thanks, I have asked numerous people who have videos and all of indicated that they are not comfortable with sharing the pattern.
@leah @stitch collective if you would be so kind to share the pattern that would be much appreciated! This video is so helpful and I would love to try to sew my own pants too 🥺🙏🏼 xx
It's definitely an adjustment after being used to making a casing first! I like it because it's quicker, and the elastic doesn't shift around or get twisted in the waistband! This is also how the waistbands are sewn in the actual ES-made garments (except they serge instead of zig-zag), from what I understand. I didn't know that when made the tutorials, but it was a nice surprise that they also used this method!
Hi Bambi! I know it's a bummer that the patterns aren't directly available right now. The good news is that Elizabeth Suzann has mentioned that she's actively working on hosting the patterns on her site - and is aiming for November! You can sign up for her newsletter on her website and she'll send out an email as soon as they're up! elizabethsuzann.com/ I know that's not immediate access to the patterns, but it's only a few weeks away! :)

hello, when you were topstitching the waistband, was that a straight stitch??? I thought you're supposed to use zigzag for stretching???
Excellent tutorial thank you
Thank you so much for this tutorial! This is the pattern I like the most. 💕 Can you tell me if the seam allowance is included in the pattern?

Hi there. There are 8 lines on the pattern. Is that just seam allowance not allowed and allowed? (Does that makes sense?!)

Stitching in the elastic is terrifying to me! I don't know why.
