I saw De Staat live in Glasgow 2022. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Lucky to have bumped into Jop and Vedran the next morning. They were as cool as you'd hope ❤ go see them live if you get the chance ✊
Lekker bezig!
The release date had to be intentional. Also I am sorta disappointed Tim did not hop off the drums and do a drop kick at the end. Also Trump might be gone but believe me the fun has just begun. The next four years are not likely to be more calm than the last four.
Or not. Musically they're good but the players themselves are total assholes. Only time in my life we had to pull the plug on a show because the singer physically attacked one of our crew and threatened me, so did the percussionist. I likes their music but I'll never listen to them again.
@@NickyHendriks Well, to be honest, I meant their music, not behavior. But anyway, this sounds strange for me. Why did they do that? Did they attack you during your perfomance? Did they explain their behavior? So many quations..
@@groh it was during their performance. They had some extreme diva-behaviour and anything not conforming to their will would get them mad. I'm a lighting technician and one of the lights that was there to enlighten a synthesizer failed for a moment (it was an old lighting desk, not sure what went wrong) which resulted in some threatening signs from the stage. Their own sound engineer didn't have his shit together so the monitorsound was terrible. The singer decided to walk into the crowd and continue from there but in the meantime he took a par can from the floor with him, demanding it to be turned on. For everyone's safety I'm not going to do that. Par cans can reach very high temperatures, you can literally fry eggs on them and I've burnt myself regularly on them while setting up. Imagine an incandescent light how hot it can get, well the par can we have ar 1000w incandescent light so it get's HOT. Eventually singer was back on stage and still demanding that single light to be turned on, I wasn't sure what I saw but at that moment I believed to see some droplets coming out of the lamp, who knows what spilled over so I declined. He wasn't okay with that so came to the front of house, slammed on the mixing board a few times before pulling the sound engineer by his hair. The thing is, the sound engineer did nothing wrong because it was their own engineer who was fucking up. Our engineer was just in the way and he was actually coming for me. I haven't felt that terrified in years. They had 'brought' in a lot of fans who flew over from Russia (even though it was a venue for 200 people max) and who knew what could happen and how the situation could've exploded. People were literally ready to call the police because multiple of our crew didn't feel safe anymore. Even after muting the PA and turning on the working lights to indicate the show was halted they just kept playing over their backline. Worst part was that some of the crowd had thought it was all part of the show. If that is the case I'm not sure if this was a single incident either. Their own sound-engineer said he shaved his hair out of fear for it to be pulled. Oh yeah, this all happened after a lot of diva-behaviour that went before. Soundcheck was from 21:30 tot 22:00, showtime at 22:15. Soundcheck lasted to 22:15 which is fine, but usually it's just a quick refresher in the green room and then on stage. They demanded they needed 45 minutes while everything was made clear before. They didn't care about us or their crowd. I don't remember everything specifically about what was said as it was over a couple of years ago. At the end they did not explain any behaviour. A production-manager from the office came early because he was informed about how the situation might explode and he went on and have a chat with them but no apologies what so ever. If the singer wanted something than it had to be done. Well, I'm not going to disregard safety for a crybaby. Our promotor had a call with the booking agency and apparently this wasn't the first incident that happened on tour. Never the less, I'll never see them again because they're blacklisted by our venue. No matter what, they're not returning. I absolutely don't like to talk shit about bands I did work for, even for a single show as house-tech, let me be clear about that. This behaviour was unacceptable and to me people should know if the artist they are listening to are total dickheads who act like this. We were there to help them put on a great show and being treated like that is unacceptable. I'm not happy about all this either, the music and the show they've put on was really cool. Sad that that aggressive behaviour ruined that.

@@NickyHendriksso you messed up your job.
Okay then.
Good of you for keeping the crowd save, regardless of artists demands. That is also your job. 👍🏻

duidelijk prutsers die directie voeren, zoveel moeite om van kijkrichting te wisselen en dan niet de correcte actieve camera gebruiken
