It is a nice tool to have, whether it's a TS501 or a TS508. Especially when it comes to TPMS issues.

For the price, it's packed with features.

I've never had to use a scan tool in conjunction with this TPMS tool.

now that u have used the 501 for a bit would you recommend the 501 or the 508 for a newer vehicle? does it work w/all sensor brands or just autel?? any comments good/bad would help as I am getting ready to buy one, thanks

I like it a lot and it works with several different brands of TPMS sensors.
I don't feel the need to upgrade to a different model. You can update the firmware.

@@312ark have you run into any issues with dodge ram trucks, i thought i heard their software required a subscription to access the functions?

I've never had an issue with Dodge vehicles. The software you're talking about is Auto Auth. It's used to make changes to modules in the vehicle such as the BCM.

@@meseahunt from my understanding if the sensor still has battery life, this tool will copy the ID of the OEM sensor into the new autel MX sensor and it will just work with the vehicle without needing to program the ECU. autel makes is sound as if you can also get the OEM ID from the ecu and promgam their MX sensor with the OEM ID.
Firestone couldn't get their new sensors to work with my Honda Odyssey using their tools(not autel) . I don't want the same issue now that my sensor battery died in my 13 Ram 1500.
not sure if buying this tool is worth the money or not. after my odyssey fiasco it seems actual national tire chain stores are also having problems with these systems programming.
