My lake has blue gills mostly for forage. In the Summer I used the Mini Max in Blue gill with a spunk shad in Goby on the back. It worked really well when i slow rolled it. Then September came along and, now I'm not having the success I had in the Summer. I love throwing it, and it goes a mile but I'm just not getting bit. Hmm.
I’ve found that adding some light chartreuse helps on bluegill lakes such as the spot remover color and changing the trailer colors can make a difference. I will also throw the stealth blade Chatterbait and work it on the bottom to kick up a sand trail and it has produced. Just a few suggestions on what has worked for me
I use a 7’3 MHF St Croix Victory any other rod it’s a 7’3 mh mod fast. The Victory is slightly slower action and lower power like a light Med heavy with braid to leader. Some like glass rods but I’m not a fan
Thank you for the information
You bet!
Amazing video! So much great information thank you! I have caught my PBs this fall on Chatterbaits and near docks.
Hi @Thegreatkayak. Thanks for the feedback and support. I look forward to hearing more from you.

You're welcome @omacastro1231! Thanks for watching.
Do you feel like smith mtn is a good chatterbait lake? I haven’t had much success.
What action and length rod do you recommend for chatterbaits? Please specify a model.

Would you ever consider using a glass rod with the chatterbait?
No. It doesn't have a strong enough backbone for a good hookset with this bait.
