One tweeter blew out on my third gig (I'm a casual Home DJ for home parties), at that time, the speaker was under JBL'ss warranty. This weekend the same thing happened to my other speaker. Would you know, if this Is a common problem in these Models? I hardly ever use the EONS since I own several other pairs of Loudspeakers. I find it shocking that after only 8-10 gigs of use this happened. Any comments on this issue? Thank you in advance.
I'm about to replace a tweeter in my JBL PRX615 that I use on my Roland drums, and I'm assuming the process is similar. Your video was helpful. One suggestion, though. When you remove the old driver, do NOT place it on the table next to the new driver. You run the risk of installing the blown driver again. How do I know this?? Haha! Yup.
How can a person tell what is blown on the speaker? I have one that is down and I am not sure how to tell what needs to be replaced. Thank you for your prompt reply!
In the case of the high frequency drivers, there is an obvious loss of high end. When I would attempt to use my auto room equalizing unit, it was not able to achieve a flat EQ curve. The highs were nonexistent. I have never had an issue with the 15 inch speakers, but I imagine you would get almost no sound at all. But if you are getting no sound, I would focus on the amplifier unit or power supply.
Where did you go or online to buy those drivers? How much was for overnight shipping? What state are you located at? I mean do you have speacial access to buy this parts?

@@alxdukextars2620 These are not made anymore as I guess you have figured out. So, I would find a 1" dome titanium tweeter, and you'll have to modify the hole to make it fit. My faceplate will NOT budge after removing all of the screws. Is there a trick to this? I see the two tabs at the top but they will not move either. What am I doing wrong or not doing to facilitate the faceplate removal?
If you have the EON 615s then it is just the front visible screws. You may have to use a flathead to pry it free. I don't know if there was another design of that speaker, but mine are about a year old.
Great video! I have the EON 612. I bought a Torx set of bits containing a size 15 and 20 but they don't fit the screws. Can you post a link to the exact bit or screwdriver needed to take off the grill and front half?

Absolutely. Use the JBL driver as fishing weight and put quality in it. B&C is the only driver I have ever used to replace any broken driver. If unavailable I have gone to eminence and 18 sound.
Great quality, made in Mexico in JBL factory, not in china. Never put aftermarket made in china. I think we still need a small mirror to not be wrong at the connection between + and -.
Hi.....What do You think about eon 610? Someone said in RUclips that all eon 600 serie have the same problem with the drivers. It break out very often. More than another brands of speakers. Thats true? Do You think they are of high Quality?

They are press-on. I did have to use needle nose though but super easy!

Your lid came off so easy after removing screws. Mine is stuck is there a special tool that i can use to pry open.
The first time I had to pull pretty hard. Can you double check that all the screws are out?
Rather than taking off entire front, isn't easier to remove the speaker (screws) and have just as good, if not better, access?

Thanks for the video, but you didn't cover that each post is for a specific wire. The driver should have labels on the posts.
The posts are different sizes. They only fit one way.
