Seems like a lot of you need help, so I'll clear some light on this for you all. First, to tell which fan needs replacement, see which one is not spinning, and or, making weird noises. The GPU fan has an extra copper pipe leading exclusively to it. The CPU only has the one shared copper heat pipe. Once you have removed the copper heat pipe assembly, make sure to completely remove and clean all old thermal paste. This can be done with isopropyl alcohol and a qtip. Then re-apply a new coating, not too much, it will make a mess. And not too little, I would recommend making sure the whole die has a thin coating on it. Then when re-installing the heat pipe assembly, make sure to tighten the four screws around the chips in a diagonal pattern. While doing them in a diagonal pattern, make sure to tighten lightly and keep repeating until fully tightened down till lightly snug. This is to ensure that the chip has an even amount of pressure to prevent damage to it and maximize performance. I hope this helps some of you with the install, best of luck!
@@anabolicbrah i got my from RYL MiracleGlobal E parts store the name is laptop Cpu gpu colling fans for asus rog strix fx505 fx505g fx 505ge fx505d tuf gaming computer cooler fans. They are the same as orgininal. Even serial numbers. I think its someone just selling the same fans without the asus markup. Get both the gpu and cpu and change them both and you could leave the originals (if they even work) for spare. Also use some electrical tape over the connectors so they dont become lose after a while a had that problem.
If your laptop ever gets in turbo mode only with one fan that means the other one is dead or disconnected. Just connect it back and tape over the connector so it dosent fall out again

Cleaning and replacing the thermal paste isn’t exactly required just recommended. Because I mean you might aswell replace it while you have the thing taken apart. Replacing old thermal paste helps the pc stay cool as thermal paste helps with transferring heat from the cpu and gpu to expel that heat from the pc. The thermal paste doesn’t have anything to do with the fans themselves. If all you want to do is stop the fan from making noise, replace the fan. The asus tuff gaming a15 laptop fans cost less than 20 bucks.
So when I openned it i saw the right fan spinning and stopping every 5 seconds i do know that it is the cpu fan because it only has one heat sink but in armoury crate it says that the one that is stopping is gpu fan so Im very confused.
I’m surprised the laptop survives when you open it while it’s running. I had extreme precautions even after unplugging the battery, even touching alot of metal for avoiding electrostatic. Had multiple fried motherboard and embedded systems for touching it while it’s running and I’m not risking this $800 rig.
I opened my laptop but i didnt have the power on because it is not a good idea to keep it running when its open and the only reason i opened it was to replace thermal paste/grease/pad and remove dust for better cooling and better performance

It is important, if you don't, your cpu can be in high temp and damage your cpu.

In my experience thermal paste needs to be reapplied once a year, and that's after i already see bad temps
