It’s not just about money. It’s also about years. Like I keep hearing Dodgers fans concerned about Teoscar Hernandez declining his qualifying offer and I’m explaining that he took a 1 year deal last winter to reenter the market now and get a multi year contract. The qualifying offer is just security if a reunion doesn’t work out
I’ve been a baseball fan a long time and learned that butthurt sportswriters can misshape the perception of a player for fans by making a mountain out of a molehill-“That guy’s a loser because he grumbled and mumbled when I was on deadline! Waaah!” Here in the post-newspaper era, YOU are that guy. Pro jocks are like all of us, they have good days and bad days. Get over yourself!
Phillies fan here. I know very little about the Red Sox rotation, but as soon as I read the title of this video, I knew exactly who you were talking about.
Always felt this way. The comparison to Sale is spot on. They both have that manic drive you wont from a true competitor but Sale would always own up to something if he fell short, while Piveta side stepped it. Good luck and all that dude, but you will not be missed.
He’s a decent pitcher with good peripherals. I’m sure he’ll do really well wherever he ends up. But I’d love a rotation that goes, Snell, Sasaki, Houck, Bello, Crawford (with Giolito and Criswell as insurance)
I knew he would turn down the sox qualifying offer and have the sox get a good draft pick. Thats the way a smart G.M. does his business. :) No qualifying offer = no draft pick. Boston needs draft picks to improve. Hopefully they use it to draft a young pitcher. I thought Pivetta was not all that bad. Just not consistent enough for me. I saw just about every game the Redsox played this past season. Been a redsox fan for over 60 years. I am sure Pivetta will get a multiyear deal somewhere. Plenty of teams need pitching.
Biggest Pouter in Baseball will join Orioles pitching staff in 2025. Weird inkling feeling over here. Although it might be several pinched nerves in my back and I should probably get some Voltaren on that.
If you think Nick Pivetta is the biggest whiner in baseball, youre a fool. The fact that you didnt know how the QO works is testament to that. Offering Pivetta a QO was a no brainer, not risky
The sad part, for me, is that I have never even heard of this guy. I know that Rico Petrocelli hit 40 homers for the Red Sox in 1969, and Willie Wilson had 15 triples in 1982...but I don't know this guy.....at all! And some team is going to give him $40 million? Baseball is insane. Freddie Freeman getting to 500 doubles is far more interesting to me.
I clicked on this, and I was thinking "Papelbon's still playing?"
Lol
Phil Maton is a big pouter too 😂 @@iTalkStudios
Pap was more of an angry whiner than a pouter. Joe Kelly does a pretty good pouty face though.
@@MashCruMusicyeah lol he missed 4 month or smthn from punching his locker in 202

Nicky "I'm either gonna throw the best game you ever seen or I'm gonna completely shit my pants" Pivetta
Too bad they can't fit that on a jersey
I never thought he would be such a pouter! I thought he was more chill
I'm surprised they offered him a QO. Even more surprised he declined it. Good for the Red Sox, bad for Pivetta.
Ballsy move but they won

And Boston has plenty of sportswriters like that, some seem to go out of their way to piss players off.

Red sox said similar stuff about Chris Sale injuries. See what happened.

I wish Pivetta the best. At times he's a strikeout machine.
Glad he's off my Red Sox.
"Acquiring" a draft pick through this kind of bluff move is surprisingly common if you look for it
Bad vibes, the newest market inefficiency

Why would sasaki go to a loosing franchise fat luck bud lmao
@@maassu1it's losing you dit
You should have been around for the Nomar days. lol
He would be a great starter at these 5th in the rotation but other than that get rid of them
I'll always remember Big Dick Nick for giving up his start to strike out all those Rays in extras.
Kind of worried you just now found out how Qualifying offers work.
IMPECCABLE TITLE
Pivetta is fun to watch when he’s on, his intensity is palpable, but the results are what they are…
Nick pivetta sucks. He was never fun to watch
Thanksgiving break! Time to watch some italk !
Yessirrr W
Yo italk when u have a free schedule can u make a vid about Michael Jordan playing baseball or tom brady?
Pivetta won the Bebe Leche award for Red Sox pitchers this year for sure
Italk do you think the Red Sox have a chance of signing Juan Soto hope they do
Nope he’s not gonna go to the povertysoxs
Lmao so u made this video cuz he didn’t want to talk to you lmao
hes in his feelings cuz nick wasnt nice hahahahah
27 seconds ago I feel no shame
Maybe get a job?
This is gonna backfire more than the lindor video

As a Red Sox fan, if the Rays sign him, I’ll actually cry
Always thought Nicky P. had no-hitter stuff, 20 game winner potential but it never materialized! Stuff between the ears got in the way...or...???
This literally just sounds like you're upset he didn't talk to you. Nothing else you stated really made him come across as an asshole.
boy for a RUclipsr you seem to have all of the information on the MLB with inside scoops huh
Could see the brewers signing him

lol this guy doesnt like nick because he wasnt nice to him hahahahhaha
why show so many scenes of him piching well? give him something to pout about!
then he got a knock at the door after this video was posted
The Red Sox might get Soto
I like Nick Pivetta 🤷♂️
Wish the cubs would get him but their cheap ownership wont
Glad he finally is gone
You might wanna wait to see who the Red Sox sign before you celebrate...

Finally....couldnt stand the bum
Not tryna hate but how have you been watching baseball for so long and making great baseball videos but don’t know how the qualifying offer works
😭I have been following for like 5 years and found out what a qualifying offer was last week 😭💀😭
Haha I know. I kind of did but not fully🤷♂️I just never gave it much thought
4.33 isnt bad? LOL, thats terrible
Not really, it’s around average but an average pitcher who stays healthy and throws innings that’s valuable.

Well that title is one way to really entice new pitchers to come to the Sox, said no one ever.
Did I say anything like that about anyone else?
Thankfully I don't think MLB free agent SP's care that much about Isaac's opinion to sway a multiple million dollar deal...
@@mrgreekgm754 agreed
Finally an update video on this guy...bro Pivetta is a piece of work idek why the Sox gave him a QO. Def love the vid tho👍
To get a draft pick, Breslow is willing to do that and it worked out well.
Watch Red Sox Nation, he explains it in one of the videos he's made.
