Thom, you do a brilliant commentary about episode 8. You bring up issues that no one else comments on, such as that Nick has the realization of the possibility that the self harm could mean losing Charlie. Brilliant! Keep up these reviews for season three.
One of my favorites is also when they secretly meet in the park. The parallels between s1 and 2 are on point. The fact that Nick was so hesitant the first time and then so confident the second time , not caring if anybody’s gonna see him kissing his boyfriend. And then even taking it further after Charlie being shook about the public kiss by pulling him closer and full on making out with him 🫠🫠🫠😍😍😍 i loved that!
Your picks are spot-on. Nick was so brave and understanding this season. ❤️ Darla being a little bully reminds me of one of my cats. She likes to ambush my older girl when she enters a room. Why can't they just get along? 😭
Another honorable mention: all the Nick "I'm just taking adorable pictures" Nelson moments. That boy can't stop taking cute pics of/with Charlie, and we love him for it!
Every Nick moment is top notch. The moment I am most excited for in season three is when Nick and Charlie exchange “I love you“. Hopefully they will follow the novel with how it plays out.! 💛💙
Thom, I get what you mean that Kit was not afforded the same courtesy. I would like to believe that with his own family Kit was able to come out on his own.
I personally love the him baking brownies & being all proud at the sleepover, Bathroom hug scene with Imogen Charlie & Nick , the quick kiss & going to Tara's party banter lol, Scene outside on the balcony before Darcy brings alcohol , The fake getting stappled by Charlie scene 😂
You were right on when you said that every moment with Nick is a favorite moment but the 5 you picked were the highlights. I never bought any of the heartstopper books except for Nick and Charlie as well as this winter. That is why I loved your comics vs show videos It also made me buy volume 4 of heartstopper because I had to see what could possibly happen in season 3. Volume 4 literally broke my heart along with This Winter which takes place in the middle of volume 4. Please do more of the comics vs show videos for season 2.❤
I'm not sure if this really counts as a full moment, but I loved when the gang was walking into prom and he was looking back for Darcy. He could immediately tell that more was going on then Tara was letting on. I also love the dinner scene, not just for Nick but because of everyone's facial expressions and reactions. I feel like it gave everyone there just a little more characterization. (Nick and Tara are forever besties)
So this is not in the comic either but I kinda want to see like Nick telling Sarah about him coming out to the room full of people and Sarah being the best mom she is hugs Nick and tells him how happy she is for him. Also love the Darla chaotic ness
25th time watching cuz its my #Heartstopper Sundays till season 3 & Nicks final moment BREAKS ME 😢 every time TOO CUTE cat daddy moments 😂 Cats are just to lazy to care 😂
Oh, I feel your pain with Darla attacking Benny, my household looks very similar, except there are 3 cats who randomly start a war among one another and one really unhinged kitten 😅 Your list looks very much like mine would, including the talk after Charlie fainting in the Louvre. I love the fact that Nick's not lecturing or pitying Charlie or forcing him to eat, he just takes his hand and assures him that they're a team now. Maybe I'd also add Nick's talk with Tara about Darcy/Charlie, I feel like he sort of "adopted" her as an older sister because she's the one who he turns to when he needs advice, but he's looking out for her a lot when she needs it. And regarding the moments I'm looking forward in S3, it's most definitely the "I love you" scene, which is very much one of my favorite moments from the comic in general, then Nick helping Charlie to have a talk with his parents about his mental health and Nick and Charlie during This Winter which is also a part of S3 ❤.
I love your choices!! I agree that every Nick Nelson moment is the best!! He is literally the best boyfriend as he knows Charlie better than anyone else!! I can't wait for next season even though it scares me because of what is in Volume four, Nick and Charlie, This Winter, and as well as volume five. I know it's going to be sad but there are going to be some perfect moments in the series as well. Kit Connor deserved that Emmy for outstanding lead performance in Heartstopper. He deserves more awards in my opinion.. I wish Kit had gotten a chance to come out like Nick Nelson did in the show. He deserves respect for taking this role and made it his own with the help of the respected material of the comics. Great job on the video and can't wait for the next video!!
Cats are so great, been having my own cat issues recently so I feel you pain lol Call this Top 5 Nick Moments with the Top 20 Darla interuptions XD The first moment is so great just to see the start of Nick's journey in being confident with Charlie. (Hehehe Spring-board) Despite all the teasing you can see how happy everyone is for Nick and Charlie finally being more public, cause they themselves have seen that they aren't super affectionate yet in front of them so this is a big step which I think also adds to the embarassment for Nick. And Nick coming out to his Dad is SO fulfilling from someone who has strained relationships with family members. You can also feel how free he feels after telling his Dad what he needs to hear and telling David off, and getting a great hug from his boyfriend and mom is a huge plus. Nick has so many moments of freeing himself from his own personal demons this season and it's so great to see. The final scene of episode 8 still kills me emotionally and I even watched a reaction of said scene last night just cause I wanted to feel that again XD It's such a wonderfully emotional connecting scene and cuts so deep to both their characters. Loved all your points, all amazing scenes. I also want to add my own personal best Nick Nelson scene which is Nick and Tao talking at the Prom Set-up. It's a good scene showing the culmination of NIck and Tao's growth together and seeing them both open up to each other. It's the only time we really see Nick open up about his worries with someone other than Charlie because he knows he can talk about Charlie to Tao. You can see Nick struggling to find the words to his feelings and just being honest to someone outside his own head about how he feels about coming out. As well as Tao kind of sliding in that final piece in Nick's head that Charlie suffers a lot from the Bullying and how that can tie into Nick's worries for Charlie. Tao also opening up to Nick about his insecurities makes such a good moment as well. You can tell Nick is caught off guard but is also happy (albiet a bit awkward due to the dead dad thing lol) that he's close enough with Tao to learn about this. Just wholesome. It's just such a good scene in my head and I love watching Nick just open up with Tao about his emotions and be opened up to in return. A bit of a mess of an explanation but you get it lol

Darla...why are you like this 😂
Every moment with Nick is the best ❤
❤ Darla ❤
7:56 I love that moment too, as well as his line moments 9:17 later, "You do know it was me, right?" Kit delivers that perfectly!

Also, at "MEOW??" I lost all composure.😊

Darla does not “interrupt”. She graces us with her presence. 👑 (repeatedly and against your wishes 🤣)

4:35 NICE ONE
I love listening to you, as a writer, comment on these scenes.

Darla is everything
Darla is such an adorable diva! Like everyone, I am most looking forward to the shower scene in season 3. It makes me laugh just thinking about it.
Haha Darla is the MVP of this video.
Came for the moments, laughed at the Darla moments LOL

(This is like a live action version of Simon's Cat.)

Agree with all your choices!
I can confirm that this list is objectively correct 🎉
😅😂
A video without Darla is totally incomplete...no offense Thom. Lolol ❤️❤️❤️
