I think the park scene is one of my favourites as well. The sound design with that absolutely beautiful song, "Paradise", just makes the entire thing feel like a cosy, deep hug. The absolute adoration on Nick's face and the glee on Charlie's made this entire scene perfect.
I really like when they are on the Eiffel Tower and Nick gets this coy look on his face when he asks Charlie if he remembers that it was in fact Nick who gave him the hickey. That was a sexy Nick look! We haven't seen too much of that and it really struck me as so cute and adorable!
Mine is when Nick and Charlie are in the hotel room and Nick goes up to Charlie and says I’m just recharging. Oh my God that’s so good. It makes me smile every time.🫶🏻
My favourite scene in the entire show is the conversation in ep6 after Tara's birthday party about consent. That scene is so important because there needs to be more talk about consent and factors surrounding being intimate with your partner. Overall my favourite scene of the entire show is between the conversation Isaac has at the art gallery and the last scene in ep8. I love all the scenes but these are my faves.💗
Okay, in the metro scene you mentioned, note in the non-existent station where they are waiting for the train the sign says, "École du Coeur"; School of the Heart. But one scene that stood out to me is not a Nick and Charlie scene. In episode 7 after Nick has come out to his Dad and his Dad has left Nick is standing in the doorway. I think it shows the power of Kit's acting, Nick has grown so much in this evening and through this journey that he looks ten years older.
Love your top moments of Nick and Charlie. So far all of your videos, that I have watched brought me joy. I want to comment on more of them, but you saying, that you read every single comment, makes me a bit self concious. However I wanted to let you know, that you do a great job and even if your videos take a lot out of you, they are really apreciatted.
The Park scene is at the top of my list for “feel good Nick and Charlie moments.” I, too, could watch that scene on a loop. It is a beautiful scene all the way around, including the song that plays over the scene. Before they start making out, Charlie turns to see if anyone is around, and he has this huge mischievous smile on his face as he turns his head, and then seeing on one, he basically jumps on top of Nick knocking him over to the ground, and then they make out. The coup de grace moment is Charlie walking home and looking at Nick’s post, “I think Nellie loves him,” it is obvious that Nellie is a pseudonym for Nick! With the animated sky and Charlie’s reaction to the post (I think he understands, too), it is the personification of “feel good moment!” In addition to the other moments you listed, I will add three additional “feel good moments” … (1) Charlie being impressed by Nick speaking French. You cannot help but smile and feel good watching that scene, from Charlie blushing, to Nick swooning him in French, to Nick wrestling Charlie to the ground as Charlie says, “Get off me, you dick!” I have such a soft spot for their playful antics. (2). Nick picking up Charlie and carrying him piggy back through the hotel halls. Nick asks where are we going, and Charlie says “that way” and, of course, Nick turns in the opposite direction. Another example of their playful antics that I adore! (3). This one, not a playful scene between them, but at the end of episode 3 when Charlie brings Nick tea and crawls into Nick’s bed. I love the scene, particularly when Charlie tells Nick, “I’ll fight anyone who’s mean to you.” Such love demonstrated in that moment and it’s just so beautiful! There are many more, of course, as you mention any time they are on screen it’s a favorite moment! Hope you are able to relax and rest up before you continue with your terrific deep dive reactions. Take care. 👊👊
What a gift! I love ALL the Nick and Charlie scenes, but appreciate the time you took to share some of your joy. I loved how they were slow dancing post prom when they both said they were non-dancers at the prom. Of course the final scene of Charlie’s admission and Nicks loving response gets everyone weeping!!!
when Nick told Charlie about comming out to his mom. Recharging. Convo at Teras party. sleepover texting each other as friends are trying to sleep. Nick saying F it & kissing Charlie with the gang leaving the sleepover. Standing up to his dad & bro comming out.Nick almost telling Charlie he loves him .Nick saying you jealous halfheartedly admitting the hicky was him SOOO many AARRGGG 😂 #Heartstopper
You basically named my favorites as well :D, but I'll try to be "creative" 1. E2 The entire scene in the park when Nick comes stressed and exhausted from exams and having to deal with David, but then he sees Charlie and the joy on his face was absolutely heartwarming to see. 2. E3 Charlie taking care of Nick after his (near) collapse at the bonfire party just playing with his hair and cuddling him and then the little kiss on the hair followed by beabadoobee's Lovesong makes me cry actually. 3. E5 The scene in the Louvre when Charlie learns about Nick's problems with his dad and the hug that follows (in the comic they're thinking "I love you" in that moment which is very apparent :) ) 4. E6 "ReCHARging" I've said it before, I'll say it again, Kit's tenderness in that scene always gives me goosebumps. 5. E5 The hickey scene - I'm going to include this one as well, especially the moment when Nick's freaking out and Charlie just shushes him down like "no hard feelings, it's not like I didn't enjoy the process :D "
I'm like you and love ever moment they are together onscreen. My Fav 'funny moment, one I've actually watched over and over, is when they are in the equipment room. It just feel so romantic, then the coach arrives. I don't know why I love it so much, maybe because of how supportive she is, but there is just something to it. I've rewatched season 3 about 6 times now and love it more and more each time.
Thanks for thinking of us and give us something while waiting for you to be less busy or stressed out, you don't have to and it's very appreciated! ❤ And about the scenes I really love the balcony scene but you didn't mention when Nick says: "not running away this time though!", referring to when he ran away after their first kiss in S1 at Harry's party. I find that line so beautiful and reassuring for Charlie. 🥰 I have a lot of favorites but I'll wait for your Nick and Charlie videos to see if they are included there.
Hi Thom! So great to be with you and your viewers, sharing “Heartstopper’ together!😊. One of my favorite Nick and Charlie scenes this season has definitely been after Charlie takes Nick home following the bonfire. Love seeing Charlie in “caregiver “ mode, making three cups of tea (can’t forget Mama Sarah) and Charlie’s iconic. ‘I made you tea.” Love seeing the two of them together like this, especially Nick’s soft delivery of “You’d fight?” Followed by Charlie’s “I’d fight anyone who’s mean to you.” Thank you so much, Thom, for this forum and for sharing your insights into both the graphic novels and this show🥰. So happy for all the life goals you’ve accomplished in these last months! Wishing you the best!
Hey! Thanks for posting these for us, even though you are trying to take a break - we appreciate it but also are okay with you needing a bigger break from all of this. I think my fave scene is when Nick is “recharging” but I’ve only seen the whole season two times through so that may change. The kissing montage at the beginning is so well done and sweet too Take care and actually take a break, Thom. Later ✌🏼
This was exactly what I needed tonight, thank you! I have a couple of favourites that you didn't mention (along with all the others that you did): 1) Nick asking Charlie to prom. Its so sweet and lovely and a bit of a reversal of Charlie's S1 Ep6 date suggestion. 2) their prom 'first look' in Charlie's room. Adorable. I don't want to put pressure on you for more time consuming videos but I really loved your music deep dives of the first few episodes of season one. I'd love one of these round ups of your favourite songs/ musical moments, if you ever feel like making one!
Thanks for giving me my "Thom talks about Heartstopper" fix to hold me over until the next video. It was also nice to hear Darla's opinion. I also LOVE the park scene so much. I'm not sure if it was filmed earlier or if it's the lighting but Kit/Nick looks even more adorable than usual, especially when he's watching Joe/Charlie with Nellie. His hair looks amazing, looks like they didn't put any product in it and it looks more strawberry blond than usual. I hope you get caught up on your rest.🥰
The park scene was also one of my favorite scenes in the show. It was just so beautiful and showed once again their undying love for one another. The song Paradise really captured the essence of the scene. Most scenes with nellie are beautiful except for the one where Charlie meets David.
It is so hard to pick favourite moments but I agree with all of these! I also loved in e3 when Charlie looked after Nick and just cuddled him when he wasn't feeling well. Another moment is them slow dancing in e8, so soft and adorably in love.
I look forward to your dissection of the final scene of episode 8!! These are all great moments. I love everything about the scene after Tara's party and before the cute sleepover montage, Nick and Charlie hugging in the hallway, the piggyback ride, the healthy conversation about sex and consent. Also every moment in season 2 where they hug each other like one of them has just returned from the war lol. The scene with Imogen is extra great because this was an almost love triangle in season 1. Even though Nick never actually liked Imogen, and Imogen didn't know about Charlie when she pursued him, it would have been understandable if Charlie didn't feel the warmest towards her. Most shows probably would have capitalized on that and played up the tension between the three of them. But instead Charlie is so welcoming towards Imogen in the first episode and so sweet and comforting here, which speaks to how kind he is and how secure he is in his relationship with Nick. It's also nice that Charlie doesn't harbor any resentment towards Imogen for bringing his name into the Ben thing, which ofc wasn't ill-intentioned but probably made him feel a bit uncomfortable.
Some more top Nick and Charlie Moments of Joy (in my book) : Climbing the stairs of the Eiffel Tower and running up the stairs in the museum. Both essay-worthy moments in their own right, but also just bringing back memories of them running up the stairs in the first season. Sneaking out of their hotel rooms at night with their friends to have Tao and Elle meet. And their moments in the exploring-Paris-montage in episode 6! (Also a moment of joy, but technically not allowed on this list: The intro to this video 😍)
The exploring-Paris-montage in episode 6 is so beautifully made! The song choice, Nick and Charlie holding hands in the gay village, Tao kissing Elle on the cheek on the bridge, Isaac enjoying himself in book heaven, the gang having fun... One of my favourite moments!
I love your choices!! My ultimate favorite is rhe park scene.. its a good scene. I have noticed that he is more confident in his sexuality. Charlie is that person for him as he is his soulmate i believe. He is so unbelievably in love with him. I also love the scene where nick gets that chocolate off Charlie's nose. They are like parents because they can communicate telepathically as they know each other so well. Thats the main thing that i love abot them is that they can communicate telepathically without saying nothing except a look from each other. I was kinda hoping that they'll have a scene with rhe rugby lads when they are talking about Nick and Charlie and how they are so in love with each other.
Oooh, is that a new intro? 👀 You're right, all Nick and Charlie moments are the best Nick and Charlie moments. Of course, I agree with all your choices (and Darla's). Here are mine, without much explanation because I think they speak for themselves (also, you've pretty much said everything already) 🙂 EP1: The gifting of the chocolate bar after rugby practice and subsequent heartfelt "thank you" and risky kiss. The electric touches ⚡(couldn't resist making a Taylor Swift refrence haha) on the couch during the sleepover. EP2: THE PARK SCENE (perfection). EP3: The interrupted kiss in the PE storage room (love the playfulness of the scene, and Nick's little giggle), Charlie comforting Nick after the bonfire EP4: Nick+Charlie+Imogen hug (my babies🥺), the whole scene leading up to the hickey ("Did you just post another photo of me on Instagram?", Charlie stroking Nick's hair, the hug while Nick is sitting on the bed, "Nick, you giant rugby idiot"...) EP5: "You do know it was me, right? 😏" on the Eiffel tower. EP6: THE RECHARGING SCENE, the hallway piggy back ride after Tara's party, them laughing, cuddling and sleeping in the same bed. 😴 EP8: The whole second half of the episode (slow dancing after prom, Charlie's confession, Nick's whispered "Char, can you just please..."❤🩹)
Two of my favorite scenes are… in episode one right after the kissing montage and Nick is leaving the way Nick is just staring at Charlie with so much love and you can tell he wants to kiss him I just love it. And I also agree with the park scene on the blanket, everything about it from the song to the moments were just beautiful ❤️
My favorite Nick and Charlie moments in season 2 are the kiss after the slumber party, Nick and Charlie’s park scene, cuddling in bed at the end of episode 3, making out scene after Tao and Isaac leave the room and Nick kissing Charlie’s neck, recharging, talking and in bed after Tara’s party, and the little after party at Nick’s house after prom.
8:18 That hug will always be big brother Nick, little sister Imogen and brother-in-law Charlie to me but I still agree that they would be amazing dads to a little girl one day.
Two of my favorites: Nick and Charlie holding each other at the end of E6 while they’re in bed, the other is the almost concluding scene in E8, where Nick has questioned Charlie about the bullying. That entire scene blew my away with emotion and wondering whether the Hearstopper crew could do anything to top this one, Probably they will. Unbelievably superb show that is up there with the best I have ever watched.
Love the opening, i feel like that's new? But i also have a horrible memory so if it isnt just dont mind me lol Def enjoy your week off not worrying about episode reactions. It's hard to chose any Best moments just cause so much of this season was just so well done and enjoyable. The crew and cast of the show really are too amazing to narrow down specific moments lol I really agree with you about the Sleepover scene. It's so cute and wholesome to watch them just slowly open up more to being comfortable infront of their friends and just still enjoy the little moments. Cause in my limited experience those matter just as much. Even if they were much more open with their affection i think they both would still do that. Just sitting on the couch either holding hands or with nick's arm around charlie's shoulder, and then just ocassional knee touch or gentle rubs of affection. And the comparrison to the park scene is such a great moment of reflection of truely showing how far Nick has come in both accepting himself and in his love for Charlie. Like he is still a little bothered by people he expects to have a rough reaction but you can connect it with what he tells David at dinner. He does not care what people think, he loves his life and who he is, and no one can take that from him. I loved the hug with Imogen. As im pretty sure i said in the reaction video, they both know what it's like to be hurt by Ben so they know how shitty Imogen must feel even if she's proud of standing up for herself. And yes we all support NIck and Charlie being the gay dads of the group who are down to give hugs, tea, and fight mean people. Kit and Joe have MASTERED looking at each other the way Nick and Charlie would. It reminds me of the Tumblr post of someone showing the scene in Repunzel where Flynn stares at her when she's not looking where someone says "I want someone to look at me like that." and someone responded "They do, you just never see them". Cause truely I do think people look at you different when you arent looking. There is less focus on maintaining your attention and they can just....admire you. And you can see it every now and then in Heartstopper where (especially) Nick will look at Charlie when they aren't talking and you can just see the amount of adoration and love he feels for this human being. I forget which reactor i watched said this, but there are multiple times they said "I don't know adults who are this open and can communicate this well." It's so true. This show sets such a strong boundary and expectation to communicate with your partner about both the good and the bad. As you point out Charlie realizes that Nick has been keeping his own stuff before agreeing they will be honest when something is going on. So many relationships, both platonic and romantic, can get so poisoned by keeping things to yourself when you can reach out and work together on whatever is happening. I need a partner who will force me to be that open cause while I have mostly reached that with friends there is such a pressure to keep up good appearences (some are personal reasons, it's fine). I'd say one of my favorite scenes is when they come back from Tara's birthday party and have the whole night to themselves. It's nice to see them fully be open and playful with each other and how naturally it comes to them to play around when arguing over what side they'll sleep on. And then opening up with the consent of neither Nick or Charlie feeling ready to progress past kisses, which there is a weird pressure to. And I've not heard anyone really mention it but I think what Nick says conveys a lot to both Charlie and their relationship. Nick trusts Charlie that he can say that "Yeah i like this." but also "But can we just keep it here for now?" and that Charlie will understand. Also the fact that Nick WAS thinking about the fact it could escalate implies to me at least that Nick considered the idea and does actually want to someday but not yet. And while Charlie cutely says that he's fine never doing it if Nick never wants to, I think they both can subtly tell that they just aren't at that stage yet despite them both being interested. But maybe that's just me over-reading the situation XD Regardless the rest of the scene after that of them just laying in bed talking and having a good time is just awesome. It's an evolution of the sleepover scene where yeah they slept near each other, but here they can cuddle with each other and talk about whatever without risk of disturbing their friends. Just a moment of pure happiness for them where if anything it was more intimate because they had that chance to just enjoy the comfort and company together without risk of anyone bothering them for once. Like a view into Nick and Charlie's adult relationship of them just being alone in their home with each other and laughing and talking while cuddled up together. I also really like the subtle nods throughout both seasons, but this one specifically that Charlie's Dad is so incredibly supportive of Charlie. As we saw before Charlie is much more likely to cry and open up when alone with his dad, and in this season we see a bit more of it. When Charlie gets grounded it's his Dad that goes to ask if he wants food and looks concerned when it's turned down. And when it comes to the dinner with the Nelsons, it took me a couple watches but you can see that when Nick leaves Charlie looks to his dad and his Dad nods that it's ok for Charlie to go after him. I think Charlie's dad knows more about Charlie's anxiety and stress than he lets on but he lets Charlie come/look to him when he needs it instead of overbearing Charlie like his wife. Which of course doesn't help much when Charlie feels like he burdens people so he'll never reach out actively, but it feels like such good subtle moments to show that Charlie's parents do care for him and that his Dad sees things and helps when he can.
Nifty new intro Thom! Lovely list! I’m excited for Nick and Charlie solo videos :). My favourite moment is the montage of their first night in a bed together. The giggles, the different cuddle positions, the lighting, everything.
I love all your choices for favorite moments, Thom. The role of the music in each scene is also important. Cant wait to see your review of S2#8 Finale.
Magnifique, thank you, that's the word I was looking for. :D Making a list of Nick and Charlie moments that bring me joy is not as easy as I thought. I find myself constantly worrying about all the challenges they and their friends face, even in the joyful moments. To focus on joy will be a good exercise for me, but it's going to take some time.
I really can't choose my favorite nick and Charlie scene, I definitely like some more than others but their relationship is so beautiful I can't choose a favorite 🫶
Also the hug they share in the Louvre: if you look very closely you can see on Charlie’s face that he then kinda realizes that he is in love with Nick. It’s exactly like in the book. 🥹
I always look forward to your comments, but i completely understand. Take your time. ❤ i don't see my obsession end anytime soon (she said after rewatch 45 lmao. Sadly, i am not exaggerating, they own me.)
Hi, Lisa - As I said in response to your comment on my other video, I think the issue may be on your end. The video seems to be working fine, so there may be a problem with your computer or phone or whatever you're using to watch it. Sorry to hear you're having trouble viewing it, but it doesn't look like there's anything I can do to help, unfortunately! :(
FYI, at 9:16, I say that the scene of Nick and Charlie alone together takes place in episode 5, but it is in fact episode 4!
Mine is the ‘you do know it was me right ‘ on the Eiffel Tower (flirty Nick😍) although I realise it might be included in one of your future videos. ❤️
Makes my knees weak
every

Recharging is my fave moment!!
Mine is when Nick and Charlie are in the hotel room and Nick goes up to Charlie and says I’m just recharging. Oh my God that’s so good. It makes me smile every time.🫶🏻

Love the exploring the hotel scene. I guess it's the playfulness.
Every Nick and Charlie moment are also my favourite Nick and Charlie moments !

I loved how they were slow dancing post prom when they both said they were non-dancers at the prom. Of course the final scene of Charlie’s admission and Nicks loving response gets everyone weeping!!!
Thom, glad you took some time for yourself. Your “fav moments” from S2 is a brilliant move.

I'm so glad that you included my favorite scene -the nick and charlie hug to Imogen
1. Love the shirt
2. Is this a new intro I love it
3. I love all those science together I could not choose one for the life of me lmao
I'm like you and love ever moment they are together onscreen. My Fav 'funny moment, one I've actually watched over and over, is when they are in the equipment room. Ah yes, "Nellie" loves him. The rainbow and smile on Charlie as he reads it. ♥
Oooh, a scene dissection! Looking forward to it!

Some more top Nick and Charlie Moments of Joy (in my book) :
Climbing the stairs of the Eiffel Tower and running up the stairs in the museum.
You're right, all Nick and Charlie moments are the best Nick and Charlie moments.
Of course, I agree with all your choices (and Darla's). Here are mine, without much explanation because I think they speak for themselves (also, you've pretty much said everything already) 🙂
EP1: The gifting of the chocolate bar after rugby practice and subsequent heartfelt "thank you" and risky kiss. The electric touches ⚡(couldn't resist making a Taylor Swift refrence haha) on the couch during the sleepover.
EP2: THE PARK SCENE (perfection).
EP3: The interrupted kiss in the PE storage room (love the playfulness of the scene, and Nick's little giggle), Charlie comforting Nick after the bonfire
EP4: Nick+Charlie+Imogen hug (my babies🥺), the whole scene leading up to the hickey ("Did you just post another photo of me on Instagram?", Charlie stroking Nick's hair, the hug while Nick is sitting on the bed, "Nick, you giant rugby idiot"...)
EP5: "You do know it was me, right? 😏" on the Eiffel tower.
EP6: THE RECHARGING SCENE, the hallway piggy back ride after Tara's party, them laughing, cuddling and sleeping in the same bed. 😴
EP8: The whole second half of the episode (slow dancing after prom, Charlie's confession, Nick's whispered "Char, can you just please..."❤🩹)
Oh no, I forgot the balcony scene in EP6!
So glad you’re giving yourself the week off, Thom. Thanks for being a good example to all of us 🥰
Two of my favorite scenes are… in episode one right after the kissing montage and Nick is leaving the way Nick is just staring at Charlie with so much love and you can tell he wants to kiss him I just love it.
Sorry to hear about the exhaustion! Sending you all the strength I can muster 🔥
Your second choice is good. The music ties it all together!
Nifty new intro Thom! Lovely list! I’m excited for Nick and Charlie solo videos :). My favourite moment is the montage of their first night in a bed together. The giggles, the different cuddle positions, the lighting, everything.
thank you for this video i need it i love tho scenes to
I love all your choices for favorite moments, Thom. The role of the music in each scene is also important. Cant wait to see your review of S2#8 Finale.
Omg! I couldn’t agree more with all of your choices here. They’re my favorite too! Among others but these scenes are definitely part of my favorites 😍
Ok, the Intro was fierce 🔥
I really can't choose my favorite nick and Charlie scene, I definitely like some more than others but their relationship is so beautiful I can't choose a favorite 🫶
It has all been said. Adding a comment anyway, to appease the algorithm gods. 💜
This season has wrung gallons of tears out of me. ❤❤
The for this 🙏🏼🥰

Hi, Lisa - As I said in response to your comment on my other video, I think the issue may be on your end. The video seems to be working fine, so there may be a problem with your computer or phone or whatever you're using to watch it. Sorry to hear you're having trouble viewing it, but it doesn't look like there's anything I can do to help, unfortunately! :(
