    Nat, your P900 introductory vids have been incredibly helpful as I struggled through the setup process. I was left behind only in my attempts to find the 'Print Layout' function within my downloaded software. A Google search finally sent me in the right direction to a separate download site. With that exception, your presentation/s have been most thorough and from a non-techie POV extremely appreciated. I would encourage you to continue producing educational for amateur printer enthusiasts.

    thanks man, best tutorial on P900. For some reasons, with OS Monterey it has been installed the driver with airprint version. Luckily I ended up on this video and I did the setup manually. I was freaking out about it, the print driver was kind of limited. Now it works everything, thank you very much!

    Hi, Nat Coalson.
    First of all great video and instructions!
    I just got the p900 and just starting out on printing my own. I got one question . How do I register printer profiles on my mac for Lightroom? It does not show up on my mac in light room for example. At 19:54 in your video under the color management for profile you selected Epson SC- P900_700 Ultra Premium. When I clicked on the profile like you did none of those options came up in my profile dialogue box like yours. You mentioned all the profiles registered to your system. Where do I get all those profiles and how do I registered them to my system?
    Thank Douglas Moneer

    I recently purchased the SC-P900. I plan on using the Epson Print Layout for printing. I am a bit confused if I still need to make all the media settings in the printers LCD screen if I made the settings in the Epson Print Layout. Thanks for your informative videos.

    Hi Nat, following your first video I have installed some ICC Profiles for different Papers for my new Epson P700 within the Library|Colorsync|Profiles on my Mac/Sonoma. Unfortunately LRc only shows the previous XP960 profiles and not the SC-P700 ones. What is wrong with my system?

      Hi Paolo,
      This is something that happens on MacOS when the Airprint driver is in use. Usually, you can run the driver installation to deply the ICC profiles and then remove and re-add the printer within Printers and Scanners.
      If you need further support, input your product here to get support options: www.epson.co.uk/support
      Kind regards,

    I have a question regarding the print driver panel. In the printer options menu there is a color matching settings box, and although it is greyed out the "Epson Color Controls" box is ticked. Des this matter? All my other settings match the recommended settings in this view, ie correct profile for the paper I'm using and color management off. I'm assuming this color matching setting is not being used at all but I just want to make sure.

    • @epsonuk3868
      @epsonuk3868  11 дней назад

      Thank you for your query regarding the print driver panel.
      When the "Epson Color Controls" box is ticked but greyed out, it indicates that the setting is currently inactive due to your selected profile or other configurations. In your case, if all your other settings align with the recommended options and you have the correct paper profile selected with colour management turned off, you can be assured that the greyed-out colour matching setting is not being applied to your print jobs.

    • @epsonuk3868
      @epsonuk3868  11 дней назад

      If you are following the guidelines and settings outlined, your prints should reflect the desired output without any influence from the "Epson Color Controls".

    Hi Nat, I really enjoyed your tutorials and have learnt a lot from them, I am fairly new to the Epson SC P700 printer and really love the Signature Worthy Traditional Photo Paper, I have recently reinstalled the printer drivers but I cannot find the media profile for the Traditional Photo Paper, which I noticed on your printer menu, I was using Premium Luster paper but I found the photos were smudged, had pizza wheel markings and double printed over the margin as if the paper had slipped. After reinstalling the print drivers I tried using the media type Exhibition Paper and that seemed a lot better, can you help. ? Is this the media type I should be using ? This printer brings photos up to another level, love it. I am in Australia. Thanks😀

      I had the same concern and finally found a way to download the icc-profile for the Traditional Photo Paper using 1. the Epson Print Layout App -> doawnload new media -> it opens the Epson Media Installer -> download medias -> choose your TPP -> you will find the ICC-Profile at the end of all (!) installed ICC-Profiles. Hope this helpes :)

    Hi, I am trying to figure out why my whites have an overlay with light gray color? The colors look dull because of it. Printer is new, tested, ink is full, works perfect, pg is in CMYK... but if I have a white background - it will have a gray overlay. Its very noticeable if it's on a half of the pg. Do you know how to adjust it? I select correct finishes and paper... printed in SO many different programs but cant get crispy white!??? So frustrating, can you please help? TX

    • @alanrichards236
      @alanrichards236 2 года назад

      Print your image in Lightroom or Photoshop. Select "No Color Adjustment" (i.e.color management turned "off") - Use correct "paper profile" for the photo paper you are using. Download and use a good colour "target print" from the web. You can turn off "grey blanket" in the setup menu if you still can't get clean whites and colour. Epson say the latter is intended to enhance the shadows in particular - also to help minimise "gloss differential". I've recently acquired a P900. I work mostly in Lightroom Classic, with Ilford and Canson baryta papers, good paper profiles and a target print file. I'm more than pleased with the rich colour and clean whites. Rewatch the above video. Nat says it all most eleguantly. What do you mean "pg is in CMYK"?

    This video details the complexity of the settings for printing. Clearly there are endless opportunities for forgetting to make the correct settings or for using incorrect settings that were for a different print program. You can avoid all of that if you use Qimage Ultimate software. I have pre-made templates for each of the papers and paper sizes I use. Using a template means quick, easy and error-free printing.

    OK there is another way to look at 'screen to print' situation. Number 1, turn down your brightness on the monitor especially if you're constantly getting dark prints. When you have that sorted out after a while you will know what the relationship is between the two and act accordingly. You do not need a fancy monitor unless your business is that successful to be able to justify the purchase. Color wise you will soon learn what colors need to be pushed on the file.

    I just bought this printer a month ago and I discovered something reaally annoying and quite upsetting: even if you do NOT printer borderless, the printer tends to dump ink on certain positions in the overspray sponge (you can see clearly dark ink lines: use a q-tip to see how much ink is dumped....terrible). Now the P900 overspray sponge is a seperate entitiy and not linked with the waste ink tank, unlike the P800, where the overspray sponge is attached to a small canal that has a slight slope towards the waste ink tank: so any ink dropped onto this the ink will drop onto the waste ink tank on the right lower part of the printer. The P900 overspray sponge does not: So instead of moving the print head all the way to the right side to dump the ink of intermediate cleaning cycles it tends to dump it on the overspray sponge too. Now those who do not want to have their overspray sponge to be soaked with ink and deliberately choose NOT to printer borderless will be deceived. I am in contact now with several people around the world to address this thing (planned obsolescence) to force Epson to issue a new firmware where the print head moves completely to the capping station where it can dump its ink during (intermediate) cleaning cycles, so the ink can be sucked into the waste ink tank and let the overspray sponge to be immaculate as possible. I have contacted Epson recently and I hope to get an answer about this.

    I bought the p900 last year and watched a number of videos about it and was initially impressed. BUT a few months later I have to say: I would NOT recommend the Epson sc-p900 and the software and the products (Canvas etc.) to anyone. ICC profiles from Epson suddenly disappear from Photoshop, can no longer be created and therefore canvas etc. can no longer be used. Help from service at Epson: ZERO! Then Epson Print Layout installed: Printer is not recognized! Although original drivers from the Epson website are used! Just really bad! :(
