- This audio file was recorded at the UNCF benefit 30th Anniversary "An Evening of Stars" 'Tribute To Patti LaBelle' that took place at the Kodak Theatre Los Angeles on Sept. 13, 2008. The Evening was taped and broadcast on BET, WGN-National, and other local channels on JAN. 24 & 25, 2009.

This is probably my favorite Patti song! And I think Mario really did it justice! I really wanted J-Hud, Tasia or Yolanda to sing it but I think Mario did it justice. Although it has nothing on Patti's (and Celine's) version!
He really should consider recording this one...

Mario did a great job! I wish he ripped that 'baby' line a little more though. I know he could have but I s'pose he wanted to do it differently. Still a great rendition.... Aretha is awesome!
Do you have the Brian Mcknight solo? I missed it :(
If he he knew how to say ask then he would have gone great with the background singers. Other than that, he sounded great.

he's the guy that has sold over 30million albums something mario hasnt and will never do....not tryin 2 throw shade b/c he sounds good here but usher's voice is so much better and more versitile just go check out usher sing its a man world then singing in the rain then his own music im not a big fan of either but lets be real mario has nothing on usher
