Even though some places like Johnny's train kids from a young age it's not as hardcore as Korea and looks aren't as important (although that varies from company to company in Korea, so!). You also only rarely see the idols having any creative input in the music or concepts (unlike places like YG in Korea). The music, costumes, lyrical content, choreography & music videos are pretty different too.
