115°F ... well ... that's like walking on the surface OF THE SUN!!! Lol. Going with your gut has always served me well. Good call!

The thing I didn't mention was that my AC had also just died 😬

Having traveled That entire area countless times myself and during about 90% of the time in cooler months you made the right choice !! It’s a long walk out & help from some random person or persons is greatly diminished during summer months & higher than average temps. I recommend definitely going back out during early spring , in winter months , but definitely watch weather forecasts for rain ( or recent rains in that area ) as there are some pretty good chances you could either run into flash flood conditions or residual mud & either can be deadly or expensive if you do survive & need to be towed out of a muddy mess. Not to deter anyone from exploring the length of the canyon & surrounding areas , but please use common sense & stay safe . Not becoming a statistic is still the wisest choice 😎👍 C-ya , and enjoy .

Hi Stephen. That's good advice. I am planning to revisit when the temperature is lower. I'll be better prepared next time.
