The constant charging in this game makes it look like an episode of DBZ. Also Madeisha may give Chun-Li some competition in the "most paused moments in fighting games" category.
That charging was also on kof94, 95 and "extra" modes in later versions. Of course not that annoying at all

wow pretty impressive for a DOS game in 95. Characters and backgrounds are well made and show quite a bit of creativity.
You know the final boss is a badass when he's fighting you with one hand in his pocket.

Mortal Kombat 1 and 2 on DOS were almost arcade perfect, far better than almost ever console version. They also had the arcade music on CD versions.

It may not look like at first, but this is a pretty awesome-looking game for something you'd play at home in 95. The sprites look really solid and the animations are so rich and detailed. Also, the characters moveset seems very varied for games of that time. The charge/heal mechanic is a bit off and the music could get some work (perhaps the platform is more to blame than the music itself); some characters are more unique than others but overall it does appear to be a hidden gem. Wish I had played it back then.
chieshen is probably the most unique one of them all. Had never seen a fighter whose main niche is doing handstands. Impractical, but interesting

Interesting game with quite some good sprites, characters, animations and moves for an MS-DOS game.
I find the references to Nadia Elena Comăneci and Grace Jones quite fun. Now the game took quite some inspiration from Riki Oh (manga and movie) through Lee (Might be a reference to Jackie Chan as well), Wacker and Cula. I wonder if Gerdon did not take some inspiration from Zabel / Lord Raptor from Darkstalkers.
Anyway the game exists on download with a kind of slightly revamped version from 2019

Stan's charging sound sounds scary as fuck, imagine hearing it in the middle of night alone.

Also, Caoli has got to be based on Ryoko Tamura.
Caoli sounds male, but looks kind of female.

Never thought I'd see a fighting game where a character is literally a Nazi that throws Swastikas at you... hard to imagine why this wasn't popular.

And where I would find a game pad in that time? People were supposed to play on keyboard?
@@rensou82 It was 1995, not the early 80's there were already gamepads for PC's.
@@Hektols but they were expensive and crappy. There wasn't USB or plug in play that time. You had to install drivers using floppy disks and configure each button. Not worth the pain at all. Only after plug in play the gamepads started to show up more commonly.
Honestly, some really creative characters here. And to all those people cringing over Wacker, too bad. Love the decision to make a villain boss a sourced from so-called villainous history. Really interested in the story on this one more than whether or not the girl is lewd enough!
I think it’s safe to assume that most characters are based on either an actual person or a particular archetype seen in fighting games, or even some combination of such.

Captain Commando, Mortal Kombat 1, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Martial Champion, Warriors of Fate, Tant-R Puzzle & Action, Dragon Master, Zed Blade, Twin Bee, Cabal, Snow Bros, New Zealand Story, Street Fighter 2, Silkworm (Jeep and Heli) - my favourite game, Double Dragon, Power Instinct, Hot Chase, Pac Man, Altered Beast, The Punisher, Final Fight, Robocop, Rod Land, Gate of Doom, Funky Jet, Tumblepop, Pang, Fighter's History, King of Dragons and more... Capcom games were the most impressive ones. They were the best in soundtracks, characters and gameplay!

By the standards of Taiwanese games of the time and especially by the standards of MSDOS fighting games of the time, this one was pretty good.
Absolutely. Back in 90s Taiwanese indies are mostly just cheap NES knock offs while this looks like a way better game than these Japanese PC98 fighting games. In fact this almost looks like a mediocre arcade title already.

That’s a good looking fighting game for DOS. I like that they tried to out Street Fighter, Street Fighter. The design choices are pretty on point with this one, this is far and away better than the art direction seen in Street Fighter V.
This game has literally ZERO to do with SF5. SF5 is a modern 3D fighting game, this is a 90s 2D game...why would anyone even TRY to compare the "art styles" of such wildy different games from wildly different gaming eras with wildly different audiences? Why is SF5 the first and only game you chose to compare it to...out of the dozens and dozens of fighting games since 1995?
That just screams "Random, Forced SF5 Hate" lol. Why does SF5 live rent free in everyone's head?

Im confused with the battle mechanics here. You're charging to give a power boost or to fill up your life or is it to do a special move? I think its a cool idea but it sure makes the rounds seem longer. Other than that, I gotta give props to underrated rated games that flew under the radar partly because of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Is this game released in China?
