saojin is a characterization of [十三姨 (the thirteenth aunt)], who appeared as a heroine in the Wong Fei Hung movie starring jet li. The thirteenth aunt doesn't actually mean an aunt. In the Chinese idiom [四姨 (fourth wife)], the ominous number 4 is divided into parts [1,3姨]. This was transformed into [13姨 (thirteenth aunt)]. The characters in the victory scene are Leung Foon [thin], Lam Sai-wing [fat], and So Sai-man [photo man], respectively, who were students of Wong Fei Hung. These are the main characters of the movie, just like [The Thirteenth Aunt].
I really like the pixel art and animation on this one. Look at how much fabric the character wear. On the characters who are more heavily clothed, you can see clearly that some pieces are animated to appear to be of lighter fabric and others of heavier ones, but none of them feels stiff. Personally I don't remember seeing such complex pixel-art animation in any SF or TKoF games.

What I meant, and I'm sorry if that wasn't clear in my comment, is that the animators made their job harder by having a bunch of characters with lots of hanging or soggy fabric on them, and the animation of these pieces of clothing is impeccable.
Started watching all your videos and i thought I was into fighting games and....i never imagined there were soooo many amazing games that I had no idea about. This game needs a current release stat!
Two things I am loving in this game: 1 - many girls among the characters; 2 - few characters shot "hadoukens" - the bigger part use hand and foot attacks.
Very nice game. Based on Jet Li movies and folk hero Huang Fei Hong. Technically it should have be the best character homage to Fei Hong, but SNK did vastly better with their The Last Blade's Lee Rekka, a much much more faithful reproduction... Even the way they made the "Shadowless Kick" shows how pro SNK guys are... To Lee be perfect, SNK could have implemented the character use of the umbrella as a weapon... But this is a wishful thinking, of course... Who knows in a Last Blade 3, huh? Come on, SNK, Garou 2 is coming... Please consider a sequel to your best weapon 2D game... Anyway, that was a great digression. Thanks for the playthrough.
Since there r characters here that r based on characters from Once Upon a Time in China im about 2 watch that movie or whatever in order 2 familiarize myself with said characters 1st! 😉

Start the game, play a match then go to the settings. Advance the date by two months. Then launch the game again you should see in the character selection an additional box, put 100 credits for this box to reveal Saojin.
@@rx093g8 Hey i just now played a couple of matches then i lost on purpose at the third and then let the continue timer run out while i put 99credits. Then some weird internet code popped up but i didn't look it up. Then all i did was press start and it sent me back to the character select screen and then I found her unlocked. I appreciate your help but i swear u guys are confusing people when u tell them to ADVANCE TIME in a SETTINGS menu cuz i had and still have no freaking clue about whatever in the hell u guys are talking about seeing as im playing on mame4droid on my android phone. Still this is an arcade exclusive game only from what i found on google and that usually means there are NO menus like we would have on a console game or port and i sure as hell don't see 1 whenever i boot the game up so im still not sure why everyone keeps saying that. What in the hell am i missing here!?
This game is great and needs to be added to Eshop and all online stores of major consoles. Saojin is unfortunately, completely low tier. I get she’s supposed to be a joke, but if memory serves she’s one of if not the worst character in the game. Gotta actually work for that fanservice. There was nothing wrong with his playing: Saojin is just that bad…the Dan Hibiki of this game.

Man,I totally miss playing this game. I used to played it at the laundromat up the street from my old apartment complex.

Replayed Saojin and she’s decent: 2nd tier (low). Crane she isn’t though…
