Hi from Germany and part of my family is from Königsberg in Prussia. Grandpa was a professional cavallerist. Feeling happy and proud to see our marvellous horses. Loving all horses and your great channel.
My ancestors where horsebreeders in East Prussia and had to leave her home and property by wagon-train, drawed by two pairs of their best mares, all four where pregnant. Tears in eyes now, forgive me please.... I'm and old prof. rider and coachman man just in time, rode and drove my entire lifetime, hundreds of horses .... But my favorites where always Trakehner. When started, not easy to understand and handle, but if you made trustly, respectly friendship, you own a partner for life. The best of all was my one-eyed brown gelding. On coach, wagon or under saddle, he brought me save into hell, and back out, - I swear ✌️✌️✌️
What a wonderful history source to have discovered. Invaluable to see the conformation and movement from over the years. So much more natural than some lines being produced now which display more extravagant and unnatural looking movement. These older horses were lovely and more graceful.
Thanks so much for sharing this video regarding a breed, I thought, was wiped out during WWII. This video, even in black and white, was extremely educational. Not just the breeding, but the persistent and positive attitude with the European families, to create a herd of some of the most magnificent mares and stallions I have EVER seen or read about! The training process was very interesting as well. How they selected the necessary traits they wanted in their horses, and they were able to put together the perfect horse. If they weren't perfect, their names didn't go in the register. Excellent video. I highly recommend you help this video to go viral. If nothing else, I see the plan worked, and they all came from 1 stallion back before WWII, and beyond.
Never forget that Blue Hors Matine ridden by Andreas H. had 7 Trakener in pedigree to 5 Danish Warmblood and 1 Holst...classified as Danish Warmblood but blood was mostly Trakener.
Blue Hors Matine had one of the most memorable performances ever in the 2006 WEG. I'm sure you've seen it but for those who have not, you can see it at this link: ruclips.net/video/zKQgTiqhPbw/видео.html

There was also Perkunos, a grandson of Tempelhüter. He survived the trek and made it to the 1956 Olympics. I can't quite remember but I think he had been taken in by another breed (Oldenburger maybe?) but he was a Trakehner by birth.
I've been an equestrianne for 50 years and owned a trakehner mare for 12 years. I can say that they definitely live up to their name as super sure footed, brave, handy under saddle but they are definitely not for the novice or aggressive rider because they also live up to their reputation for not suffering fools easily.

Not sure what you mean when you say "erased." The Spanish Mustang episode is very much there for viewers, and continues to be a viewer favorite. You can find it at this link: ruclips.net/video/9RK13xcMLrY/видео.html Many thanks for your inquiry!
We would love to feature more on the Dutch Warmbloods but owners/breeders seem more focused on the breeds individual achievements than promoting the breeds at large to create new interest and new awareness of these special breeds. We would love to change that and create more exposure for these breeds. To promote the breed and their KWPN program, we invite owners/breeders to contact us at Info@HorseTVToday.com for more information.

I so miss my Trakehner baby I'm so glad training has moved out of the dark ages!

What an absolutely magnificent horse

I know the history of this beautiful breed and am saddened the pinto Trakehner was lost. You've erased the Spanish horses?

Do you have a similar show about the KWPN horse?

My friend rides trakeners he swears by them.
Was this video made in the 1970s
It is from our library Archives so was produced some time ago, however the information and history is still very relevant. What is your concern?
@@HorseTVGlobal I didn't have a concern and I thought it was very well done. And the information was very interesting.
