Yes, that's where they make the money. At this price range, you might as well throw away the printer and buy a new one if you have to replace all the toners. Unless you refill it yourself.
Many color printers don't print if one of the cartriges is empty, simply they ask for a new one and don't let you print choosing Black and White in properties, so my question is: this printer do that???
+A Garcia Samsung printers have a chip on each cartridge, once the chip thinks the toner is empty, then that color will not print. If you still have black toner, you can print B&W. I have another video on refilling the toner yourself on this printer. ruclips.net/video/09smNlJj3R8/видео.html
+dial2fast I disagree with 'will not print'. We've print thousands of pages, the printer will complain the toner is 0% but it still prints the colour. it eventually goes streaky and then you know it needs replacing. The printer may come up with a prompt but just push > then OK on the pad and it continues to go (seems to do this if you repower the printer/open cover/draw and it thinks the toner is low). If you've installed the samsung software it will also complain a lot but still allows you to keep going.
DON`T BUY A SAMSUNG PRINTER, Look at my lists.. one called "Samsung c 410 printer". It´s a piece of utterly unreliable crap. One day it works and the other day it thinks its depressed and refuses to do anything. This guy is paid to tell us this.
go4goldnyc I did. I'm looking into getting a toner chip resetter now. The salesman said it would print 2500 pages but it did about 50 before running out of 1 color and low on others. Not full at factory no doubt! A resetter tool is sold but waiting on cost. If too much I'll look into gettting just a basic usb programmer and discovering the codes by just looking at the data on each chip.
+VelictAF Even with Laser? That was one reason I wanted a laser printer because with inkjet, yes, if you don't use then they dry up. So it's planned obsolescence. 1 year max for a cartridge regardless how much you use it.
+VelictAF I found an Indian company makes a resetter for the clt-k504s, etc... cartridges. These are $250. For now, I'm just ordering up new cartridges from China off Alibiba for 22 bucks each. If you read the fine print; most color cartridges say 1800 to 2500 pages , but they only print color on 5% of the page. The cartridges that came with my printer were only 15% capacity new so I was really scammed by Samsung.

I didn't even have to install any drivers. Just opened my MacBook Air which was able to recognize my printer right away and print

I have one. To replace all 4 toner cost as much as the printer. don't buy this printer.
Unfortunately that's with any printer these days. That's why they sell the printer dirt cheap and then make the money off the cartridge.
