i absolutely love how much fun these guys are having. so entertaining to watch
Yeah bro me too
Especially 130i driver :D
That 130i is screaming for an lsd. Turn in is incredible and even with the teggy, but as soon as it comes to accelerating out of bends it gets dominated
lsd+m3 front control arms + 1m alignment... maybe stiffer shock/spring combo and wheels and tires. Do m package brakes or buy a car with them already, ez track weapon with proper rear wheel drive instead of the dc5. This is coming from a guy who currently has a 335i, but owned 2 dc5's.
To everyone hating the DC5, just like to remind you the Integra is a track focused car where as others are built for everyday roads. Yes the BMW has more power and R32 has 4wd but dont forget the weight difference. BMW and R32 are like tanks compared to the Integra
Bash khan Correct. Also if there were a real tank in this race it would win before the race starts.
I drive a dc5 and its cornering is mindbending .
Good to hear Steve! :)
thanks for stating the obvious.
We hating on it cause obviously this channel is biased af when it comes to Honda. How tf does the sti, who was in 3rd place eventually starts doing a bunch of wide turns (totally unnecessary) goes from 3rd-6th? Its dumb.
The 147 GTA is so surprisingly fast, I was shocked when I first drove mine. Everyone dismissed it when it was new mainly because of the lack of LSD. But fit a Q2 or Quaife and you have a serious street weapon. Alfa really did well to make a balanced and fun car that handles the power and torque well. Its a shame they used a Selespeed for this, imagine if they had a manual version!
Around a race track the Selespeed is faster. It shifts in around 0.5s just a tenth slower than a VW dual clutch system.
And the sound of the Busso...
I believe on the GTA's the Selespeed is essentially the same as the one from a Maserati? Whereas other Alfa Selespeed systems at the time were poorer.
@RichardABW it's essentially the same system as the Ferrari 360, not sure about Maserati but I wouldn't be surprised if it was shared there as well
@@LueysGarage maserati cambiocorsa
That GTA though
Another lap and the 147 GTA...
Look at the lap times, the Honda was quicker on the fastest lap.
That Alfa looks soooooooo nice. I was expecting it to be rubbish on track, put apparently this was not the case.
An Alfa Romeo will never disappoint you to drive, even the slowest version
Remember.
@@mrfrancy0154But the reliability will surely disappoint you 😅
Only here for the Type R
shows you are a boring fucker.
Manages to beat cars with more horsepower with it’s lightweight body and it’s god like cornering ability. Honda back then was just impressive to say the least.
@@cluckinbell1974 There is more then just being fast on the track. Like design, sound, interior quallity, luxury, torque and resale value. I m here just for the ALFA, thoose things are starting to go up in price and are rare
Klem Zale Indeed. Italian design will always be envied.
@@klemzale5370 to bad they look like piss
This is a new video. Have fun. The DC5 rules the race once again.
***** cool race thanks for new vids, but could you also post more cars than just Hondas?
My Nam u must be new here, tell em miroshi
My Nam sorry, that's not going to happen lol
My Nam It's in my channel description, main topic is the Honda Type R. Sure you get to see a lot of Silvia's, Skyline's, Impreza's, Evo's in my other uploads, but that's because they were racing against a Honda.
I never get tired of hondas, specially on type Rs👍👍👌👌👌 Honda ftw, love you japan
K20 the best mass produced engines of all time!
Said no one ever.
squala the butthurt is strong with this one.
2L with 220 hp is a very good power to displacement ratio for naturally aspirated engines. Of course ferrari engines are better but they are much much much more expensive.
Eh, I'd say the GM LS is also a pretty good contender.
The LS isnt really that special, it displaces over 6 liters
I'm impressed with how competitive the alfa was. I wasn't expecting much
very competetive with a locking diferential, some Semi slick tires, a aftermarket suspension and performance exhaust and remap. You would be suprised what it can do.
I would choose that one, as its very rare, looks good, sounds insanely good and is starting to climb on price
@@klemzale5370The problem with the prices of the Alfa 147 GTA, it's getting on the same levels of a M3 E46 with some asking soon around the same prices. People would go for the E46 M3, it's on a totally different level.
Them DC5s are something special..dame it
And that is why my favourite car is the Integra Type R both the DC2 and DC5
130i M needs a diff
It simply had small wheels and tyres. Should have been a 19inch spec. But the diff might have been a problem too.
DC5R started in the back.and finished all the way in the front!
This is a real car review what we all want. Love to keep having such video for todays cars
It’s always a blast to see type r go crazy I love it
Awesome video Miroshi! You guys have a lot of fun...honto! I have a stock 05 Type S with intake, exhaust, Stage 3 clutch and coilovers, and it's a blast driving up and down the Idyllwild mountains. (I'm thinking about adding a turbo)
Front wheel light weight dc5 was destroying those corners straight away was different great vid 👍
Very nice race , from start to finish , all of them premium cars
I actually drove many Golfs on the race track (Nürburgring), and I was kinda surprised how good the R32 performed in this video. It is a very top heavy car that is struggling with understeer problems. Also the ESP of the Golf 5th Generation is crap! You can't turn it off, and it makes three things on a race track:
1) it regulates (brakes) to early
2) it is overheating your brakes slowly
3) It does not like curbs (it brakes)
And the AWD-System is just the variant with an Haldex clutch. What it does is this:
If you are cruising around the only wheels which will be driven by the engine are those in the front. If the car is noticing that the front wheels are loosing traction, it connects the rear wheels to the powertrain. The result is: Very tricky handling on the race track. You have to loose traction to get traction back.
Also the AWD adds more weight to the car. The AWD just gives you more traction at:
1) the start
2) when you have tight corners (Tsukuba might be the perfect race track for AWD cars)
I was also confused because the Audi has the same engine, the same ESP and the same powertrain. My suspicion is that they managed to deactivate somehow the ESP of the Golf. So the Audi is showing us the real performance.
By the way: The VR6 engine of the Golf is in Germany well known for having overheating issues if you drive the car fast.
Volkswagen had messed up many things back than. They let Renault took over the trackday cars. But the 7th Gen Golf is finally good again. Nevertheless you get more "bang for bucks" with a Renault RS (Clio and Megane).
And notice: The BMW needs a lock differential. If it had that, it would have drove away all the other cars in the field. Too bad that BMWs don't offers lock diffs after 1996, except for the M-cars (M2, M3, M4, M5). Even for the performance models like M235i you don't get a lock differential in your dealership. You are forced to the aftermarket.
Professional drivers
eath nowen sounds like he knows his stuff tbh
Alfa also needs an LSD
The MK7 engine is stronger than the MK6 but the early versions just had problems with their turbos blowing which is sad. The engine itself is stronger than the mk6. Turbo is also bigger and it has a better Haldex system and DSG box.
@Mona mk7 golf r hqa incredibly strong internals, where did you get your info it can't take any power?
People are but hurt so badly lmfao. Don't judge by them racing each other! They're just having fun. Judge it by the attack times. Regardless, your favorite car lost. Deal with it.
And the Honda lost.
@@thesis4349 did it now?
Stick an LSD and some M3 arms and chamber adjustment on the 130i and is the complete car, it’s also a very k20 esque engine as you go rev it to get the power out of it. The noise inside is probably as good as I remember my k20 ep3’s being. I just wish I had the cash to have a k20 and my 130i, do miss the civic a lot, I’ve had 7 of them over the years.
Alfa with the Selespeed in "City" mode on race track ... Hmm
How do you know?
@@DayTreaper at 4:53
Alfa is big shit.
@@bleJko00 I don't think so: it almost paired with bmw which was a lot more recent project
@@bleJko00 147 take the best lap
thanks miroshi!
The DC5 can still smash hot hatches with higher displacement engines with higher power output or turbos or AWD or FR or the fastest shifting double clutch system on earth. Honda really made a sports car for the track. Really a pity that Honda is known as the brand of choice for ricers with fart canons everywhere outside of Japan.
edge21str If you drive a honda the problem is you probably have a baseball cap backwards and listen to limp biscuit, nothing has changed is the last 15 years, even more troubling is they were right. The type r in civic, integra or NSX they have always been the best and the flow on from that most standard vtec cars were great cars but with a poddy and big bore sounded mean and did go alot better but they fucken handle better than most other cars.
zpe1200 Good analogy. But now the baseball cap is still back to front but the music is some new wave shite hop hip like Kendrik Lamar.
zpe1200 and now the latest Civic type R comes out with Turbo and spanks every car in its range plus more.. ah shame for the retards who thought Honda forgot how to build a fast track car.
Amun TOO It will be interesting to see what the modding community can do with the new Type R on the Touge.
edge21str Nah it cant....Megane RS is about 40 seconds per lap faster than Integra around Nurburgring. That's a HUGE difference. Besides, even in this battel the R32 was only 0.2 sec slower in the hot lapping, and it didn't have the best track focused tires, not to mention how bare and stripped out the Integra is and how much more comfortable, luxurious, equipped, refined, etc. the Golf, A3, 130i and 147 in this battle are.
But the 130i bravely honored the second place ... held the first until the pilot missed! haha
Was so hoping for it to win 😂.
Interesting to see the podgy GTA outlast both R32 and S3. Classy performer. Surprised the 130i hung on to 1st place for so long, its quite a unique layout for a hatchback. Great win in the DC5. Wish Honda still had balls to makes cars like that.
The Civic is now replacing the Integra since many generations, as the Civics were always growing bigger. No point in having to fwd models of the same size.
The new Civic R is amazing, Honda still doing what they're good at.
Cool video thx for posting.
That 130i is 🔥.definitely getting me one
This race had me smiling all the way to the end gotta give props to that honda tho
Honda should really bring back the Integra to the market! Because it is such a great car!!!
Ray Tsang new type r duh...
They should remake the same car! I will buy it ASAP!!!
Errrm katycat that's a civic duh
Wow, im surprised the S204 set down that time, in a different league!
All loving cars just amazing
What a video...Honda all the way.. true underdog
Ito noted the BMW's differential was not working. Actually 130i Sport does not come with LSD at all, which seems crazy for 190kW sporty hatch.
Yes, unfortunately BMW kept this nonsense until the F generation when they introduced the electronic LSD emulation. This utilises the ESP wheel speed sensors to break the spinning tire. Not great but it stops the madness of one tire fire.
Would it be way faster if that 130i has LSD?
@@f00kinglasrsights89 Around corners yeee
@@Slow.S55 You mean out of the corners. An LSD doesn't help you around the actual corner, just helps you get the power down coming out of it without spinning up the inside rear, which the 130i was doing on virtually every turn!
@@soundseeker63 I foolishly leased a more powerful 135i with an "electronic" LSD, which is a gimmick that applies braking to one wheel to simulate an LSD.
The inteR has noticeable better lines running in these curves than the hatchs.
Thanks for the SUB miroshi
Thank you Honda for all the smiles you bring into peoples life
The song at the start is Seasick while Standing Still by Staring Back
Nice set up
Type R 🙏🏼
That post hardcore music in the intro was 🔥
Dc5 for life :):):):):) awesome video
DC5 has always had a reputation for being awesome on track. 2 VAG cars with boat anchors up front and an auto box are never going to be as good in tight stuff. I can't comment on the Alfa and the BMW needs a diff to reign in the power. Fun video. I enjoyed it.
Yes! Get in!
The 147 GTA with a manual and a LSD would demolish the competition. But stock it was kind of shit. Which make it more impressive in this race.
Love It!!!
1st time I see a JDM-Spec RHD BMW, Audi, VW and Alfa Romeo
That was a nice race
The inside sound of the DC5 compared to the A3 ! 😂
Excellent battle, inte r pulled it off at the last second! The hatchies seem to lack at cornering and corner exit acceleration it would seem and thats kinda what track/sport cars excel at
Power_of_R Integra is tuned for the track specifically, it's very hard, stripped out, hardcore, etc. Golf, A3, 1 series and 147 are infinitely more luxurious, equipped, refined, comfortable, etc. They're the complete package, not just a track car. Besides, these were not really the best hot hatches...in fact...they didn't use the best hot hatches at all. This was an A3 not S3, Golf R was pretty bad back then, 130i is a regular model, 147 GTA was old as fuck. A Megane RS would have wiped the floor with this entire line up.
derbigpr500 This race was done way back in 2006. Any Megane back then would have been smashed by the Integra. S3 is too expensive to be considered as a competitor to the Integra, and the Integra especially the refreshed model in this video is very comfortable and soft.
derbigpr500 What the fuck?! Tuned for the track? Very hard, stripped out? Get your shit right.
Pao S because Type R.
+Himmel Weint Actually the fastest Megane in 2006 was an R26, and that thing went around Nurburgring in less than 8:20, that's far faster than any Honda FWD, and comparable to the NSX.
that type R is light like a feather and race oriented ... no brake fade from lap to lap.
So I guess the 147 GTA is the winner of the battle ?
and it was in "city" gearbox mode
Wonder if it has the q2
@@wheresmycheese8511 no it doesn't
It’s faster than the Type-R
@@155stw on straight yes, it end on turn
I still love the vw and bm 😍 just wana slap a dirty turbo on the r32 and watch it fly
that laugh as he overtakes on the final straight
Tsuchiya Keiichi san drove once same car which I’ve got! I’m so happy, greeting to Rising Sun from Poland
What about the mazdaspeed 3 or just regular Mazda 3 hatchback?... that would of been 🔥
The BGM match the era, miss the 2000's so much. Does anyone know the artist or song? Great demonstration of cars, showing their respective pluses and minuses.
Looking at the Time Attack though the R32 is a tough competitor for the Type R. But the R32 has an excellent reputation for its class and that year is AWD.
Yes .. R32 is the best among this group .. Great start, and sure it's faster than 130i .. the driver is unlucky 😢
dc5 is a great car!!
no..

Sounds like they had a blast on this one lol
VTEC just kicked in yoo 💨💨💨
Pitty on those people who blame the drivers for the lost of their favorite car. Like the r32, vw pips are hating hattori for the lost not knowing the car in the video was an automatic version. Also peole here think that a 250+ hp car will perform the same after several race laps not considering tire wear and tire progression (as seen with the r32). And people here think that a particular car they drive is the best when they only drive it on the streets (or race on straight lines) while these car in the video were driven to their limits in extreme condition. So don't expect a car to behave the same on the streets and the track. Cheers!
yes DSG version and the car "missshift twice as the Hondus passed" I laugh my ass off... or the A3 standing on the brake at corner exit to make sure the Hondus can pass him...
best motoring is and will be forever the most biased car show on earth... luckly today we have other honest japanese car magazines testing time attack at Tsukuba and surprise surprise... foreign cars do MUCH better ...
just a example in a best motoring track battle the new 2015 Civic Type R beat the Megane Trophy R ... in a other car magazine test the Megane Trophy R (exactly the same car delivered by Renault) beat the shit out of the new Civic Type R.... and BTW this car magazine was over one second QUICKER with the Civic Type R than best motoring around Tsukuba (quality driver or willing driver) and the Megane still whopped the Type R ass.... the current lap record for production street legal cars at Tsukuba is not in the hand of Nismo GT-R or any other JDM that best motroing let always win... it is in the hand of the Porsche 991 GT3 RS... tested by a more serious car magazine
+nagmashot there goes my point. the dsg r32 missed shifted thats why it got passed so driver was really not to be blamed. serious magazines? i'd rather watch the video than read magazines with just pictures and does not show the real action. they will just write numbers, results and pictures but not the whole pictures.
im not saying honda is the best rather the way people like you think that a paricular car will always be the best car until its proven otherwise under a different testing or experiment. like for example people who watch too much top gear (which test cars in only 1 lap for a lap time) think that the results in that show will be the same with BMI which test cars in a race with several laps. so tires, weather, track temperature, break wear etc. will factor in the BMI test. that will yield to different result.
please don't use the megane and CTR as an example. we all know that the renault is twice the price but the performance is not that far.do search other videos (european test) not bmi ones and see how they match up
@@nagmashot I recall best motoring trying the megane trophy and the fk2 on the mountain track and the megane won. I recall seeing track videos like these where the foreign cars won. I know it's tempting to think they fix the races but then they at least make exceptions sometimes.
@@nagmashot, amazingly the Alfa missed a shift too! And only in Best Motoring.
@@Alkhoholic The other magazines do also videos of their time attack run and they are on youtube...welcome to search function... The Megane RS twice the price ? everyone hating on the type r is hilarious honda have put incredible driver focus in all their cars especially type r's and they show for it by beating more expensive or "better" cars as many falsely believe. i strongly believe the type r is the strongest track focus car there and to me thats the most fun too. i dont care for luxurious cars like bmw or vw
You call a 1 series luxurious ?😂😂😂
I’m envious of anyone who owns a dc5 type r I love my type S but i would love a type r
A JDM Type R maybe, but anywhere else in the world good luck getting your hands on that. The Type S was the final version of the Integra and they got the balance right IMHO. If I had to trade I would love a DC2 Type R but with no air-con? Summer is brutal in Australia, driving a car in 45°C heat with no air-con? I'll keep the Type S thanks 😉
@@DasGigPig I had a dc2 for 13 years , but you are damn right I made sure it had the air con option ! I Even had the 6 speaker stereo installed later but to be honest I wasted my time there as I could never really hear it!
