Watching these takes me back my childhood! These videos impacted me so much growing up its ridiculous.
Almost as ridiculous as that comment.
Been watching you since I was a kid. Respect and thank you for all that you've taught us
Me too man
Same, I thought this was new but as soon as it started playing I'm like wait I remember this 😂
Same, learned so many fire tricks from him. Salute
Same!
Same bro. I was a young adult but you get it
Peanut putter is one of yhe best suvival foods. Lots of protein and sugar. It doesnt go bad and it wont spill unless super hot.
Exactly my thought. It could also be used as bait/lure on traps for smaller mammals and rodents.
I guess I was so absorbed in the original episodes that I missed the glitches. What were they?
I've been there. Everything will kill you.
Chupapi Munyanyo
😂
Taking your clothes off at night should be good idea imo
Maybe at home… not in survival
Man I watched these relentlessly when these were coming out.
I had every season set to dvr and would fall asleep to them every night. Not much has changed 😂
Yes so did I he was better than that other survivor guy back in the day
@@seanmosley5834 lol you aren't even man enough to drop his name?
@outdoorfr3ak I can't remember his name this was back in the day and I'm not as young as I use to be. I remember he had something to do with bears and was popular
@@seanmosley5834 yeah alright. Use the internet you're already using to find things out and not sound so dumb.
I'm so glad i found out that Les Stroud is posting Survivorman on RUclips now.
I missed watching this show. 💯
big ups the only legit TV wilderness survivor, original and best, Les Stroud.
Educational and inspiring! The greatest outdoors show of all time!
I've done my time in the desert, and even with the low humidity it almost killed me. I run hot naturally, I'm far more comfortable in cold climates, and I pushed myself nearly to the point of collapse from heat exhaustion. I'm over all that, I'll take Finland in winter before I do another desert summer.
I miss when I was watching these for the first time
I watch, rewatch, watch again and again. Get something valuable each and every time. Really appreciate Stroud putting this out there for us all.
Whats the one thing you wish you had captured on camera but wasn't able?
You saved my life recently on a backpacking trip in the Rockies. All your tips came flooding back to me when I got injured right before night fall and had to take 3 extra days in the mountains. THANK YOU for putting these shows up on youtube. You are quite literally my hero.
Hello
lol oh god I’m not the only one who had a problem version
For real, that was annoying but it's fixed now.
If I recall, it had a problem with the video shrinking down to half resolution and being forced into a 4:3 format.
Edit: Thanks, Les! You rock :)
I see survivorman. I watch survivorman
This is all very real. And for a Namibian, I also learned a lot from you. Great show. Just saying. You can be glad you are not camping during the winter months. Now that is cold. Brrr cold. And some places raining. Love the channel. Though it is dry, we also have a beautiful country. Your lenses caught a few beautiful sceneries. Thank you for that. ❤
Was always so incredibly impressed by Les. He's surviving AND filming all the beautiful angles. Absolutely insane.
Man I remember watching these on TV when they aired. Any chance you will ever do more new episodes?
He has said that if he gets to a million subscribers, he’ll do a new survival challenge. Probably not a full series. I think at this point in his life he doesn’t want to, but I’d love it if he did
❤❤❤
The besr to ever do it
Ill always look up to you les. You fueled and grew my passion for mother earth and nature, and now in my 20s im studying conservation and ecosystem management so i can become a park ranger or forest firefighter. Thank you for all your wisdom, and for your legendary persona
Always a good day when Les drops a video!
Tuesday.
60 degrees... I feel like I'm dying at 35
Mirror could be used to reflect the sun 🌞 to make a campfire. Use the battery 🔋 to start a fire 🔥 too.
OH.. I thought this was a survival thing. You have enough water, and enough calories to do nothing for the week...
lol exactly what I was thinking but what can I say I’m from Australia
Childhood was tougher than this
The tribes here literally do nothing all day and set traps at night. He has to set up a ton of camera equipment, get good shots, and still make an entertaining show, all in the middle of the day in a fucking arid desert.
@@DevDreCW You sure about that, or is there a crew, and vehicles around with A/C running?
I have never thought about ostrich eggs being able to just travel around in the heat and be cooked at any time.... that is amazing. Should have been obvious because they are from a hot climate, but I didn't know it would be like that! Wonderful
And I also had no idea you could eat charcoal from your fire...
eggs can travel, the reason you refrigerate store eggs is because when they clean them they wash off the protective coating eggs have. If you harvest your own or buy from a farmer they can sit out. Theres also a way to re add the coating by soaking them in lime (the rock) water to rebuild the mineral shell
@@Jzwiz Thank you for the info! Eggs are amazing!
Awesome! made a great day better
Due to Internet problems, it is better, for me, to watch this episode when it is not premiering. really love your videos.
As a South African, I have been in a similar situation and I have the utmost respect for you. The Kalahari does not mess around... it breaks your spirit.
Happy to see u out there again die true und only survivorman but poor Birds that gonna be heck of a work to Redo there nest
Dont remember the glitches but I dont need much of an excuse to rewatch some surivorman
I love watching every episode I can find, my older brother loves your show and your books.
I am 27 years olds every thing i know is from u les i have been watching since day one of the series survivorman great show ❤
I never noticed a problem lol
Ground coffee or even whole coffee beans once chewed up and rubbed on your gums would give temporary energy boost. Yes, it may make you more tired after the effects wore off but in the small window that energy can help you push forward.
I got the privilege of spending a month in the Northern Kalahari doing some wildlife work with some local trackers. We had some well stocked trucks with food, water and fuel, we were able to be out in the shrubs for a week at a time. An experience I will likely never get to repeat and certainly one I won't ever forget. Spectacular place but not forgiving of mistakes.
Would like to see like an edc of u and like Another behind the scenes like what happend after, u repairs the car and did it get repaired and how or who drive or take it back .... things like that Greetings from Germany
Showing off edc is kind of dumb… why do you want other ppl knowing what you carry
Man, this place is so beautiful, and deadly.
I was born and raised in Hollywood, so I know a thing or two about filming and production, and let me say I respect your skills!
The mirage on camera is uncanny and beautiful. That was helpful. Approved
Best show ever!
Amazing that there isn't some sort of licensing deal that keeps you from uploading this :)
isn't this a reupload?
Awesome! Totally awesome
Hey Mr. Stroud!!! With all respect, I would love to offer a tip for finding water in the desert... find a tree, and dig untill you find the trees water source 👍 sometimes it may be 2 or 3 feet, but where theres a tree, theres water 😉 im a huge fan and i would love to share this info! Thank you for all that you do sir, i appreciate you and your knowledge
@@universaljoint sounds good, dont take the advice then 🤷♂️😅 that is how animals of the desert get their water, but im sure your probably right 👍 however thank you for sharing that information about the shepards tree! That is something i didnt know, and i love to learn!
Glitches or not you are still amazing and this is wonderful!!
Have not seen him in a while 😎👌
This brings me back! Loved watchin you while on 16 hour ambulance shifts! lol. Such a great way to learn something new about survival in between calls.
When I was tree planting me and my buddies would binge watch every Survivor Man episode we could when we were in town. Good stuff!
Finally in my back yard
Filmed 17 years ago and still good to watch
The Kalahari has to be one of my favourite episodes ( but maybe your least ?) Thank you for posting on RUclips Les!
Did you ever pursue MMA? We had a brief conversation about it years ago.
Hey Les, I don’t know it you still read these, but while watching I had a question.
At some point you’re working with the dung, and it got me wondering how, if at all, you wash your hands afterwards? I know a lot of times you end up eating with your hands, and obviously you can’t just pour boiling water on them. Is there some other means of sanitizing them? (Or something akin to it?)
is it just me or does anyone else hear the intro as "tickle tickle tickle tickle tickle" ?
I think it sounds like the lady at a fast food restaurant when her giant order isnt ready after 3 minutes 😂😂😂
Your videos can seem stressful, but YOU make them calming with your confidence and knowledge. Thank you Les!
Awesome! My wife and I used to watch these RELIGIOUSLY, and enjoyed learning the survival tips you taught us. Thank you for sharing these with us all.
Ive seen all these episodes multiple times over the years.
Love this!
Imagine if we got one last season ❤ I have so many memories watching these episodes when I was growing up ❤
What glitches ?
I wish we had a survivor man post survival episode on how to readjust after being rescued. The adrenaline, how to reawaken your organs to eating and all that good stuff.
You still did well, given your situation. I wouldn't have made it that far.
Would digging down into the sand to lay in during the day help? Like under a bush or tree just removing the top couple inches to cook it down?
Been watching you since me and my wife got married….that was 18 years ago…thanks Les
Grew up being a big man vs wild fan. Then my Canadian grandfather told me about Les Stroud!
Always liked the desert survival ones.
You are the real deal. 💯
I’d add all of the power steering fluid, some of the gear oil, and some of the transmission fluid to the fuel tank, before the diesel ran out. Then set fire to the tires, one at a timw
What they don't tell you is.he has help just in case but an average person would not be wearing the clothes he has on let alone the resources to survive or knowledge. Lol
Missed this
Dude thinks 42 degrees C is hot XD lmao. Don't visit Australia pal)
Apparently during filming was hitter than the hottest day on record fir the entire world? Interesting.
I’ve experienced 50 degrees, obviously not in those conditions but 60!
Thank you Les Stroud! it all came flooding back sitting in my parents basement watching this in the dark so invested into seeing what each episode had in store, wishing they were endless. i love this show, You my friend are a legend.
Best way to survive the Kalahari Desert:
Don't go there you turnip.
When is it time for a good panic? Everyone always says not to so statistically it has gotta be soon.
Now you just have to walk back and pick up your cameras
You lasted 6 1/2 days longer than I could.
I never get tired of Les, what a legend
That’s how I feel, Thank You, USA
Miss this show like no other!
Honest question...would you have died out there in a real survival scenario? You definitely show awesome methods to stay alive, but I wonder if the prolonged exposure without water would eventually have taken you out?
The desert episodes are the hardest for him, he's canadian. A totally different world.
Any new material dropping soon?
why did anyone leave peanut butter coffee and jam with other rubbish. Quickest unsubscribe just a showpony.
Peanut butter is one of the best survival foods you can have. Shame you didn't learn anything from a guy who's been all over the world.
Opps, I thought this was Indiana Jones.
lol def wasnt 140 degrees, that would be a world record
seems like a good time to rewatch all these again lol
bro car survivor nowhere with out a car he takes apart lol. try surviving with nothing and the call yourself survivor man
The assumption is that you didn't parachute into the desert for fun. Something realistic happened, like car trouble when you were exploring or crossing the desert, and now you've got to survive.
as a native of the place, unless you have a film crew nearby never rest in the shade under a tree because guess what thats where all the nasty reptiles are also resting and they will get you, so you better off in the sun
He just proved you wrong😂
Bear Grylls fan anytime. This guy needs to learn from BG. His video is so fake.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 such an obvious troll
Thank you Les!!
John the baptis eat only grasshoppers and honey.
I honestly thought he was not on the census anymore.
Those are mouse holes not scorpion holes
Anyone else notice the indiana jones resemblance
Could boil the coolant and catch the steam.
Donge li nggawa nasi padang mbah
