Hey guys how you doin'! Alatreon is finally here, and so I decided to post my second hunt I did immediately at the release for a quick showcase of the monster and its moves. I'm going to bring some fresh speedrun during the next week, so stay tuned! Oh and btw, did you expect that FINALE?! In the first hunt after the nova it happened the same thing, after the nova I one-shotted him... So I couldn't afford to lose the chance to kill him in an epic way in the second one! :D (During Nova attack Alatreon seems invincible so he remains with 1 HP) See you soon!! @@furionmax7824 when he do a dramatic topple the handler will say you're doing a good job containing alatreon's power and the most important part is breaking the horns breaking one will delay he going to the third form(in the video case fire) breaking the second make alatreon unable to get on his third form and he returns to the initial one like at the end of this video
Solo-ing it is honestly the only way i found to be able to clear this even if you fail the mechanic thats only 1 faint so you can technically fail it twice without any issues
I should say maybe go for a full ice build just like I did in like my 3rd attempt solo but the issue is breaking his horns 2 times so Ice element can still be effective because if you don’t break his horns and goes to ice element is a gg
@@snappy6173 I broke his horns twice with ice safi lbg and lvl 3 part breaker but still couldnt kill this shit, died from regular skills, also I managed to do element break twice before each aoe and it doesnt reduce damage more after a second break
Yeah, I managed to make Alatreon flinch with my ghetto ice set while trying the solo strat for the first time on my 2nd hunt for him. I’m farming now to get a better set but it definitely feels like solo is a lot more doable, without having to worry someone in the PUG didn’t read up on Alatreon.
I watched this video got inspired and tried soloing it myself after failing with pubs so many times. My first solo run got me my first clear. Studying how you moved really helped. Thanks!
Solo is mostly a test of skill of ones own skill. Multiplayer is a test to the coordination and strategy of a team. Thats why multiplayer is scaled so high usually.
Yes because its much easier solo. In a 4 player group all members need to dodge the supernova three times, thats a minimum total of 10 dodges (or 11 with insurance) in one hunt while you dont need to dodge a single one solo (with insurance)

Long ago all the monsters lived together in harmony then, everything changed when the hunter’s attacked, only Alatreon master of all four elements can stop them
Just killed my second Alatreon solo, took me a few attempts due to carting to the nova, but other than that, Ala is manageable. Harder than Raging Brach or Furious Rajang, but not impossible. I'm happy that it is not a boring siege, even though i don't like the dps check nova. Overall it's a fun monster.

Getting into MHW again as a super casual, watching others use LS like this is really helping me learn, both how to get better and how much farther the top really is.

Jeez, music really does contribute 110% of the intensity. This felt so relaxed without any music, I need to give this a try. Still, MHW and especially Iceborne has one of the best soundtracks of any game.
well yeah, which is why it's not good. You need elemental damage to nerf escaton judgement, otherwise you get grilled. Or frozen, depending on the starting element.
I always get to the point where I break both of his horns and he’s at his like 5th judgment attack and he switches elements and kills me with his 6th one. Am I supposed to kill him during that time?

@@evamay7969 Especailly if RNGes didn't favor you with the right kjarr weapon. I have the fire kjarr LS which is very good, used it for at namellia. Thing is, right now alatreon is starting in fire, so having a good fire LS is worthless. I don't want to farm safi for a decent LS either. If they wanted to incorporate an elemental damage thing, they should have just made it so elemental damage seals some of his attacks and not straight up kill you if you don't do enough damage. Like if you do enough fire he stops using ice and water attacks.

@@arachbae4777 Its the Event quest. I just checked it. This video got the Dawn of Death star which isfirst the Ice active alatreon. My event quests got the Evening Star, the fire one. Probably everyone got different event quests either this ice first one or the fire one.

I was thinking "why does this hunt feel so clean amd calm" until i noticed how low the music was, it really changes things sometimes and you dont really motice
Longsword is the best weapon in the game. Not technically the fastest weapon but the foresight slash is too good. It requires a lot of skill to use the longsword to its fullest potential but when you do it is so satisfying. It has the best defensive counter in the entire game and good offense
How is it possible to have 1333 raw damages ? I have the same weapon (with more raw damages), the same skills and even with powder, seeds and potion I don't have more than 1168... I don't understand. Maybe food but it's risky to not take elemental resistance.
@@MarveliciousG i can´t speak for others but i know coalescense. but its not about the skill, its about the cuts in the video. there are at least 2 of them. if this was an official speedrun, this would be a hind for splicing

The fact that you're using armor here that isn't a mixture of Safi stuff, but instead things I can also craft, makes me more hopeful about finally beating Alatreon xD Also surprised that your set focuses on Attack instead of Fire Attack, I guess it's because Kjarr LS already has a massive amount of element?
Awesome stuff but I'm honestly kinda puzzled by your armor choice. I understand the master's touch but I don't quite understand the Kirin chest and brachy legs. The only reasons for those 2 pieces I could come up with was gem slots, but even at that there are chests and legs that give better slots. Also, was it an accident you had attack +2 in your rocksteady mantle and another attack +2 in your temporal mantle (between your charm and your attack+ gem you have a full lvl 7 attack, so it would be better to gem in something a bit more useful, like elemental resist/recovery up/defense boost). I'm also puzzled by the fact you chose to have an ice weakness against ice alatreon that could be easily remedied by an Ice res+ gem (especially if you're only using the chest and legs for slots). If you are fully aware of all this, then please do disregard it, I'm just a bit critical lol, for if you are fully aware, then that is just a testament of an epic hunter lol. :)

Triggering Fortify definitely helps.

I almost failed because of the time limit. Dodging those thunder take a lot of time.
But the buff switch axe is really good when comes to mobility.

Elemental attack will lessen his nova skill that usually kills you.
It's near obligatory because his cheap nova move is otherwise basically a guaranteed death.
