I tried light strings on my epiphone Texan inspired acoustic electric., Yuck. Very very tinny and hollow. I slapped mediums (13-56 I believe )on there and what a difference. It sounds like it should sound. Hard to explain. I think the Texan is made to have med strings. It sounded better, more even tones, a pinch of brightness and a little bit more punch / solidness. I love it.
I think the mediums are pulling a little more mids out of that guitar that you probably wouldn't normally hear....is that a thing? I don't know, but I prefer the mediums in this vid. Thanks!
Can you comment....you must be able to feel the added tension with the Meds., and also your hand dexterity seemed a lot more fluid with the lights. Still, you choose the Mediums?
You should play this guitar more frequently for videos. It must record well. It has a sweet sound compared to some of the others. Oh, and, yes, medium 13s are much more pleasing to listen to. It's what I play.
Thanks so much, really helpful my friend 😊 The Lord’s love + grace be with you His hope + peace, in Life, and beyond the grave Hope you are all well and resting in Jesus saving love + grace 😊 Blessings friends 😊

Theres very little difference in sound from what I can hear but I lean slightly towards the medium. Maybe sounds just a bit "fuller". ♡
I'm planning to restring light gauge for easier playing too, thanks.
I have to say that both gauges work very well.... Incredible but light sounds great i think because the guitar top is amazing resounding more.
Your SG 152 came with light strings, and you raved about that guitar. The Boucher still high on your list?

I always liked medium more, i like the brighter and sharper attack. But, my newer taylor sounds and feels so good light. 😊
I myself, prefer the sound of Light Gauge Strings... I've been using D'Addario Phosphor Bronze 0.12 - 0.53.... for many years... on my Gibson...
Me too!

I kept the lights but might go back!
By the way, incredible picking!@@thecanadianflatpicker
